INSANE RUN: PvP deaths: 1(technically 2 but the PvE killed you, not the players) PvE deaths: 2 (or 1 if you count the above) Gravity deaths: 2 Boss deaths: 0
Excellent season 2. A lot of work goes into basically daily videos. It's really cool how you sculpt a PvP character, and talking through your decision making is so helpful for my own builds. Also, that has to be the most relaxed I've seen someone do Melania. Pondering tactics and hot swapping weapons and armour and talismans like you're just strolling through limgrave.
Wizards mentioned at least 9 times: 00:24 Well one is a Wizard 04:37 Oh!? Wizard, Wizard indeed? 04:42 How is it going Wizard 04:48 I wanna fight the Wizard though, the Wizard is my main target 06:16 I was trying to bow at you Wizard 21:06 Hello Wizard 24:28 Good working with ya Wizard Since I started counting there were 4144.2 mentionings of Wizards across 348 videos. Bonus: 16:47 24:34
10:25 there’s a somber 9 as well right next to that, it’s on a body sitting in a chair in a circle of chairs. if your facing the tower from where the somber 8 was head right (downhill) while hugging the cliff, you will see a place you can turn on the left, the stone is right there
Always the one I grab first, there’s a second somber smithing stone (8 or 9, I can never remember) from killing a scarab on the southwest edge of the Beastial Sanctum area. Of course, you really only need one of the two, until you can get a Somber Stone (7) which is usually the one from Volcano Manor 😓
Sad to see the series ending but excited for the dlc content. Would still love to see this character wield the poison infused rotten battle hammer for the double dots.
Great series, really enjoyed these long episodes so much. Drink every time Chase says; "Spin-to-win", "Bonk", "Poke", "Wizard" or "Don't forget to wipe our runes before the invasion" for maximum intoxication.
32:49 bosses in elden ring have progressive resistances, so its harder to frostbite her the more shes already been frostbitten. Bleed is a very good choice to switch to because of that. Unless youre using something with insane buildup like deaths poker L2, it's hard to get more than like two or three procs with a normal weapon.
Every enemy has progressive resistance to the same status effect. Like baseline it’s 300 something, then 400 something, then 800, then 1100 for the fourth proc. It’s not noticeable for most non-boss enemies because they would just die to overall damage long before. It becomes more noticeable in NG+ runs.
hey chase, if you ever do another level through pvp run you should remember to get into the habit of using the gold scarab when slaying bosses, since you're using the pve runes for trinkets and baubles
With most bosses, if you’re good at inventory management, you can equip the gold scarab and use a Gold Pickled Fowl Foot for a 50% rune bonus after slaying mobs like Radahn, Elder Dragon Greyoll, Greyll, the Putrid Avatar north of Fort Faroth, the Godskin Apostle at the bottom of the Caelid Divine Tower, Morgott, ‘Goldfrey’, the Black Blade Kindred outside of Bestial Sanctum, and a few more. Pretty much every one of those is worth about 70-100k, so that trick is worth about 35-50k extra runes.
Another finale to this type of series, I could honestly watch this kinda thing forever. It's a really fun challenge, this series inspired me to give it a shot! (Though, pc seems to have very few overlevelled phantoms whenever I invade...)
I noticed already into the melenia fight there is no music.... which stressed me a lot but Chase's cool relax and collected commentary fixed it. Took some serious notes on how to avoid the waterfall attack
The second series comes to an end... but we are also 9 days away from the DLC SO HYPEEEEE, can't wait for the livestreams to return. (also Elden Ring but I can only use St. Trina's torch?)
Hey Chase. I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I said it before; your (original) level though PvP series is what opened my eyes to Elden Ring. I wouldn't have picked up the game if it wasn't for you. Thank you.
Well well well................... a finale isn't really a finale without a certain weapon. I tried, Chase. I really tried. The Brick Hammer died in obscurity in the depths of Stormveil Castle. I hope you're happy with yourself. I certainly am not. I guess I'll just go cry in the corner. But you know what would make all of this injustice just a liiiitttle bit better? ...... a St. Trina's Torch Build.
9:47 I learned from GinoMachino that this is a long standing bug that causes enemies to stand up before they die if their HP drops to 0 during a simultaneous crit and status proc.
30:41 "How are you not Frostbitten yet?" Enemies build up resistance with each application. It's why clearing Frostbite ends up being only a slightly stronger plan over utilising the Def Shred at best :)

Yes, actually the most optimal way to use procs is to proc frostbite, switch to bleed weapon, proc bleed, switch to frostweapon and refresh frostbite when it fades and start again.
Bearer of the torch Seek runes. Larger, more powerful runes. Seek the queen, that is the only way. Lest the wizards swallow you whole... As it has so many others.
Great series, Chase. The build I'll be bringing is a 150 character built around using Vyke's Dragonbolt to mid roll in very heavy armor. The plan is that I'll get annoyed about heavy rolling when Vyke's falls off and want to switch to a new build with the DLC weapons ASAP. Very excited about getting new Crucible Aspect incantations and such.
Great series, Chase, and a very, very clean Malenia fight at the end. What a capstone, well done. Looking forward to your DLC weapon showcases and builds! (Can we get a Thrusting Shield build??)
@@ChaseTheBro I am beyond hyped for the perfume bottles and the thrusting shields. No idea what they're gonna play like but the sheer concept is awesome.
22:56 Chase the hosts protect the phantoms because the phantoms have less health and less flasks. All though the phantoms don't have any penalty for dying the host also can't get through the level without them. I think that's their logic in protecting the phantom. I'm on your side though, it should be the phantoms protecting the host
While you've been doing this series i've been doing the complete opposite! Only leveling through getting invaded, I often summon a helper plus taunter's tongue active and my world often turns into non-stop 2v2s its been a blast! Could make for a fun series too!
It's weird how all the hard swapping looks so smooth against real people but against AI it looks incredibly clumsy I mean, maybe he enjoys reaaally dragging out the fight with Malenia? It's not like he's in any danger with a health bar that reaches through the screen haha
I'll be heading into the DLC wit a 120 Qual/Arc build so I can try out any pure dex or str weapons I find on the play through. Then another run on my 175 pure dex character that I may swallow a larval tear for depending on what I find with my 120 level character. Can't wait honestly, I've only been playing souls games for 6 months but I'm hooked forever now.
always a blessing to see your contents, specially when there is a sprinkle of PvE in it I've already filed a vacation leave for the DLC :D, are streams gonna be back on the menu chief?
Watching you go through this was a blast. I've been struggling with finding my own fun in ER pve. Just sticking to 1 wep (bloody helice), no buffs or AoW, just jumping r2s.... Not really the funnest but when I try lookin at balancing fp costs for AoW feeling "worth it", I just end up revertin to jump r2s haha. So seeing you go through wep switching a lot with many different AoWs is really enjoyable. Thanks for the content, hope to see more soon. Cheers.
Great playthrough, very fun to watch. I'm bringing my quality 150 build into the dlc so I can wield more weapons I pick up as I play but I can't wait to see what awesome new weapons we get!
I really enjoyed the series gamer, I think I'm just gonna be very safe and bring a lvl 139 strength build into the DLC and respec to use whatever I think is cool since my character is a Wretch anyway, good luck fixing up your builds and hope we all enjoy the DLC just over a week!
Really enjoyed the series chase. Running a whole playthrough and only having 1 invasion loss is honestly so cracked lol I think I'm going into the DLC with my lv160 str/faith build. Fire damage is great in most cases, and sacred seems good for a dlc about shadow lol. Incant damage is absolutely absurd, especially lightning and it'll probably only get higher with dlc incants, on top of heals, buffs, utility etc. Might also get access to sleep (obligatory torch) if that ends up being faith, and madness too. Still holding out hope for hybrid ashes though. Might bring INT up to hit rl200 and relive the glory days of the chaos dagger riposte
I was gonna take my quality knight into the DLC, but I think I’m gonna take my Dragon Communion build into it for a first playthrough because I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this build recently
