Important thing to remember: In The Lands Between, the Golden Order keeps out the influence of the Outer Gods, thus preventing most forms of divine meddling not originating from the Golden Order and those forces it permits to exist. There is no such restriction in The Lands In Shadow, so if someone calls down a divine being to come and wreck you, nothing is stopping that being from doing exactly that.
Citation needed. There's no presence of other outer gods outside of Frenzy in the Land of Shadows. And the divine beast is literally people in a costume

The ritual is literally intended to bring down a divine beast the embodies the power of a storm to inhabit the bodies of the Sculpted Keepers who, despite being long dead, are fully capable of housing the Outer God. As for other outer gods, we see the power of the Formless Mother with the Bloodfiends with some of them being able to cast the "Nihil" with their spears like Mohg does. We see a follower of the god of the scarlet rot in one of the bosses, and quite possibly where the Scarlet Rot originates from. We see the priests of the Hornsent call upon the Spira miracle, which literally invokes the power of the primoridal Crucible. There are even Furnace Golems that, based on their size, design, and insignia, call upon the power of the Fell God to sustain their flames, as they have fire giant faces on their knees and their face plate is intentionally modeled after the Fell God. The Outer Gods are *everywhere* in the Lands in Shadow, if you take the time to actually look. The reason for that is simple: The Lands in Shadow are the "Outer" in Outer Gods. This is where they went when they were banished from the Lands Between.

This was my first DLC boss, and I love it so much. Such a cool idea to base an enemy on real-life lion dancers. I found that its attack patterns and the timing to dodge them are actually pretty simple, they just feel overwhelming at first because of all the spazzy and random movement, and the crazy elemental effects in phase 2. Didn't kick my ass nearly as much as some of the other DLC bosses so far, but it still really left an impression. It and all of Belarut are a great high note to start the DLC on.
Yeah, one attack in particular I though was just a massive hitbox that you had to spam roll but eventually I learned that it has a sequence to it along with the rest of the fight. What a perfect boss to introduce us to the dlc!
Well many festivals in some cultures have people controlling some animals outfits, when the animal is too long it require more than one person inside. At Kung Fu Panda 2 there is literally a scene of the furious 5 inside a costume of a dragon and its the same concept. Like, its not truly original per se, more like something its not used so much in games
@@stressedumbra4944Yeah it's not a common thing seen in games, that's why it's so interesting. Just because it's based on a real life thing doesn't mean it can't be done in an original way. Plus, last I checked, most real-life lion dancer puppets can't levitate, or summon storms of ice and lightning.

Its like if fromsoft and midsommar had offsprings, and raise them to be chinese dragon dancers. The almost human jaw and empty eyes really get under my skin
People keep in mind...below that giant disguise, the divine beast is just two average joes and alwo keep in mind.... THAT THESE TWO AVERAGE JOE'S WENT AGAINST MESMER IN THE STORY TRAILER. A LITERAL DEMIGOD AND SOMEHOW SURVIVE
There were several lion dancers but most of those who fought against Messmer perished and got impaled as seen in the trailers, the ones we fight are the last ones remaining.
it feels like a bloodborne boss... this isnt a souls boss... the visually confusing design and attacks are causing you to roll constantly.. i hate bloodborne...
@@user-nx7vw6dt9e Yeah, I saw a video of what was under the skin of the lion and just two big guys with mask covering their face. I guess them being omen is out of the picture.
