Fitting since Messmer suffers from the same issues Morgott does, a lack of HP and crippling weakness to ranged attacks. I don't know if I was overleveled or anything, but Messmer could 2 or 3 shot me, and yet he died twice as fast as most other bosses, so he seemed a bit of a glass canon compared to the likes of Rellana or Bayle. Either that or he's weak to magic, since I was playing a sorcerer and haven't started my second playthrough with another character yet.
I always love the concept that canonically speaking, during multiple fights, our character whoops their enemy to half health, then just chills for like 2 minutes why they talk about personal problems before getting stronger.
I like to think the player character is just catching their breath. Oh, sure, gameplay means we don't need to worry about that, but in real life fighting these monsters would be *exhausting.*
This man is straight up menace to all souls like bosses. The DLC hasn't even been out that long and bro doing no damage runs. I can just imagine the bosses waiting in the boss room be like, "oh, someone is here.... oh, he's not wearing any armor. Fxck"
Most of the main DLC bosses are mid, so it's a given. The AI for most of them seems fucked. It's just slightly better than that of the ER Convergence mod.
@@accountdeleted0x0 you say that like if 90 some percent of the community would be able to no hit any boss fight let alone something like this, Rellana, or Malenia even if given months or years worth of practice. Sure ONGBAL is one of the best PvE players on YT, that doesn't change the fact this is impressive
Beat this fight shortly before heading to bed yesterday and I’m still in pure ecstasy over how fucking good it was. Nicely done, always happy to see how you maneuver around my favorite fights in the game.
@@Redeyedjedii Rivers of Blood and Mimic tear. I really didn't want to use it, but I just could not do shit without it. Even then, I won by a slight margin. I don't know how people like this exist tbh
@@Redeyedjedii A mixture of patience and sheer luck tbh, I was using a colossal hammer so I needed to be mindful of my openings, the general gist of it is that if he does a combo with an instant finisher, you get a light attack, if he does a delayed one, you get a fully charged heavy. Might take a while, but if you’re patient you can slowly kite him down, best of luck, I’m sure you can do it.
@@Redeyedjediii beated him using the small mace you can Buy in the round table in ice infusión, and slap the quick step Ash of war for style Bloodborne Dodge, was hard to deal with th snakes but putting attencion of his finisher attacks Will give You chance for attacks
"As long as he continues to practice the fight, he can discern every pattern" "In other words, in the following attempts, Ongbal is effectively immortal" "If you're unsure on who is going to win, always bet on Ongbal"
In my opinion this is fromsofts greatest boss. It was really challenging, but nothing felt unfair. I fought him for a couple of hours, and I never even got close to being upset
Perfect and cinematic as usual. You are one of my insipirations and i recently did a no damage Inner Isshin with no charm and demon bell. The DLC have been hard but watching this makes it feel more managable. Keep up the good work man. I will be waiting for you to drop the DLC Final Boss No Damage.
Agreed, so far I still think rellana's (or maybe Bayle) the hardest I faced so far. But messmer was so much fun, I think he is one of my favorite bosses in the series right now.
Totally agree, I beat him a few hours ago on my sixth try, I was actually very sad because I wanted to fight him more and just realized that after killing him lmao (And his spear is the best remembrance weapon in the entire souls franchise imo, I'm beating the DLC with it 100%)
Oh yea, spamming magic, using flashbangs, and snakes that mess with the camera. Plus the terrible voice actor that was obviously someone's son or a intern that got the role of a major villain for his first voice acting gig for whatever reason. But yea, compare him to Genichiro I guess?
@@songbird6414 Just disappointed by the whole boss fight. Main villain was extremely easy and the voice acting was terrible. Seriously, I had a harder time with the hippo. Main villain tho? 2 tries. Guy sounded half asleep doing those reads.
@@billywayne1007 This was a really good boss, if you didn’t like it that’s alright but most people are calling him a top tier from soft boss, no need to drag everyone down to your misery parade 😭 Just say “I didn’t like it”.
I love how he puts that wall of flame out and then lunges his spear through the middle! It seems almost exactly like how Owl Father does it in Sekiro(when you fight him in the lady butterfly arena).
I finished this BOSS today, and i realized that he throws the fire/sparks with his hands and the moment the spear goes through it becomes fire infused, thats why some spear attacks don't have fire bcs he don't burned it at the moment
Does Ongbal uses xbox controller or ds4 with a ps4 or ps5 controller? I don't think he uses ps5 if anything ps4 or xbox. I am just curious this guy is insane!
I posted on the last video not even 5 hours ago about how ongbal hadnt posted this fight as a joke and not even 2 hours later it was uploaded. What a beast he truely is the best souls player
People absolutely coping in the comments saying ONGBAL got an early copy of the game that he just decided he didn't want to show or talk about despite the huge amount of free publicity to his channel that it would get. Yeah sure guys lmao.
A very calm start to the fight, ridiculing him only with martial arts then in phase 2 a mix of Genichiro with his whirling lightning attacks from the death knight's twin ax which reminded me so much of good old Levi it was incredible. | 6:16 옹발 축하해요 ❤
Ngl I thought it was overpriced when they its the size of Limgrave What I was not expecting is 3 legacy dungeons, 2 minor legacies & 11 major bosses. I came across 4 minor dungeons & they are leaps & bounds ahead of the catacombs in the base game. One catacomb was almost the size of minor legacy dungeon Not a fan of the final boss though
@COHOFSohamSengupta Final Boss fight was amazing though. If you mean lore implications though, I can get that. I'll wait until people figure out the lore first though, this happened almost similar when people found out that Gael was the final boss for the final dlc of ds3
This guy...when you search for no damage run video, you may found so many videos but this guy is different, fill every openings like no other guys,he was just insane, phenomenal. I really really love him,i can do it too,but need at least 2 or 3 months to memorize bosses moveset.
This is awesome per usual and it also just made me realize what was throwing me off at first in this fight. Messmer holds his spear with his left hand and I instinctively dodge that direction.
