I unironically want this version of waterfowl to be in the base game. Yes it looks worse since it's longer, but it's atually a bit slower (especially with the pauses between flurries) and doesn't have the hyperspeed jumps that can only be avoided by not only timing the roll right but also aiming it very precisely. Everything Malenia does in the base game I can handle except waterfowl. Also this version of her doesn't seem to have that wierd thing the basegame version has where some of her attacks seem to alter their parry window timing every time, making it more consistent and feeling a lot like a Sekiro fight.
It can be made even harder by making half her images do waterfowl dance and half her images do scarlet aconia. Her attacks would basically cover up the whole arena

Bonus round where she blooms for the third time and becomes a true goddess, ascending from the mortal plane and regenerating her flesh like plants sprouting, the entire haligtree has now bloomed and you must fight a several stories tall malenia with a waterfowl dance that travels from Altus to limgrave
You know shits going down its a 7 minute long video and in it ongbal shows off his mortality before healing back to full through stance break crits. this fight was cinematic as fuck too, very well done managing to beat it and only get hit once
@@thedoomslayer5863 it doesn't even build up that fast though? Like with proper stats or items you could probably make it out without the effect proccing. Plus all you're doing is dodging, so its not like you're losing out on damage in that phase anyway
Not only he got hit, but also he failed one parry! As the goddes said, he have witnessed true horror. The strongest boss he ever fought, imo. A challange of unparalleled strength, indeed.
@@erik5890 look at another defeating video (f.e How I beat Unalloyed Malenia without taking ANY damage). She says: Is this my first... defeat? And you are able to cure here with Millicent's needle. Malenia will be sitting in the Lady Maria pose after all, and you will able to talk a bit (and get rid of frenzied flame ending).
Quite interestingly Millicent was originally not a spawn of Malenia but malenia herself and She would slowly regain her memories throughout the journey to the haligtree and be friendly Until she remembered her duty to her brother

Imagine we find her imprisoned in the Heart of Aeonia, her mind and memories gone, until we help her with the needle etc. Millicent is cool but she does feel rushed in at the last second, especially since she wears the same robe as Melina.

@@ValomyrsLightsomething that makes the challenge trivial means the challenge is serious business. Bloodhound step got nerfed to oblivion, but at light weight, it still can be a menace, just not spammable.
@@erik5890for the way he’s fighting this he couldn’t have made this much easier other than using a better ash of war on his shield for parrying. Rivers of blood would probably be worse on this fight no matter how you’re approaching it.
So some sick person looked at Waterfall Dance and thought: it should be twice as long and with better tracking! And then what if she did her clone attack right out of scarlet eonia, and then one of her clones did WFD? And then what if the player couldn't see anything because the whole arena was filled with scarlet rot fumes? I'm legit scared. Not of Malenia, of this modder.
Surprisingly, this mod seems pretty well designed compared to many others. There are many mods that turn bosses into pure bs just to make them as hard as possible even if they're not fun. This one, instead, tries to make the boss as hard as possible while still being fun for the people good enough to master it. Of course, it's a very fine line, but I think the mod deserves a lot of praise for it
@@Saixga this mod deserves all the praise, tbh. During the whole fight, the moveset was comprehensible. Batshit insane, but very well telegraphed. Also, as far as I know, the clones in the mist phase are scripted. So the only invisible part of the battle is down to 20 seconds of memory.
This fight really seems to be very difficult, extremely precise and well-placed movements, I imagine the absurd amount of time that was spent training to finally be able to hit Ongbal, congratulations Malenia, phenomenal fight.
The only "harder boss" mod that is actually good. Combining cinematic beauty with difficulty of that magnitude is honestly amazing. The DLC better be something on that level
If the DLC had something like it would be garbage, it would also limit weapon and spell diversity to lame and quick attacks. The player should also be able to feel like a badass too instead of just watching. Which the DLC of BB and DS3 captured greatly.
@@dvdivine1962 Brother, Ongbal literally used a greataxe in this video. Clearly he didn't need a fast weapon to beat her. Just be patient and choose your openings. I'm honestly not against a Souls game having a super boss like that as long as it's optional.
@@EwiwasSmile I said quick attacks not a fast weapon, or I should say light attacks. He could barely use its entire moveset and no cool ashes either or stance break. Super bosses just don't belong in these games, cool to watch but not very engaging to play.
@@dvdivine1962 He actually had way more attack opportunities. Like when he'd sometimes break her stance and not do the riposte. It's just the usual Ongbal flexing. Malenia has one of the lowest poises in the game. He could've staggered her a lot more if he attacked, but he's obviously not tryharding.
That looks wildly difficult. You know it's crazy difficult if ONGBAL gets hit. If it was like this in the base game, I would've quit. Hell, I almost quit after 70+ attempts on base game Malenia. 😭
I've never seen him scared to death but this time is very different. Look how massively he leveled health. He never levels HP which means he's been dying until this attempt
I hope people understand how unbelievably difficult this mod is and how incredibly skilled ongbal is, truly the best souls player in the world , just incredible
If that was Miyazaki’s true intention for that fight, and it was strong enough to have ONGBAL get hit, the rest of us would still be stuck there to this day
Bro I had to cheat to beat her , since I can't master parry and perfect dodge waterfall dance . I had to beat her with Clone . Base Malenia was hard for a casual player like me
@@golik133 its so hard cuz u have to use light roll, otherwise u cant full dodge, or rather its hard af to do so. That is why strenght builds are so rarely seen in malenia fights. And you have to be a beast to constantly parry her.
I really don't know what was more frightening, the extended Waterfowl Dance, the twin Waterfowl Dance, the twin extended Waterfowl Dance, or the feint/delays at 0:40. Oh wait... I think I'm just frightened by EVERYTHING this Malenia is.
I know this would have made me cry if I had to fight it. But God is it beautiful. It would have been so nice to see this version make it into the game.

I would literally never beat this fight, but this is so much better than what we got to really showcase the magnitude of her strength as the Goddess of Rot! I hope if the DLC is really about Miquella, and the tease that she'll bloom again means we'll get to fight her again with elements of this fight cranked up even more. If the DLC doesn't make me question my sanity, it isn't worth it haha
Sometimes i wish fromsoft bosses were like this. At least optional ones that are supposed to be extremely hard. Not to say she isn't normally, but the spectacle in this fight is incredible and the insane difficulty would make defeating her unbelievably rewarding. Maybe they could make her deal less damage so it's not straight up impossible unless you're a god. They could also maybe add something like special weapon and armor just for her that would make defeating her almost trivial, so that if you don't feel like doing the insane challenge you could defeat her without too much trouble
Reading the title of the video I was initially disappointed since I expected a poison swamp. Thankfully the fourth(?!) phase fixed that glaring issue. What ride that was, and I wasn’t even playing 😅
I doubt it, they're too much of a cowards to do that. i hope they prove me wrong tho because i wish this was vanilla malenia rather than what we got.. i wish they stop holding back on the bosses especially optional ones that are supposed to whoop you ass and keep high skill players preoccupied for while even while using every single tool at your disposal.
I haven’t played Elden ring but I watched a ton of videos of it and I’m GLAD that Miyazaki didn’t use this melenia model. Btw impressive as usual broski
