I'm so hyped! After bosses like Gael, Friede, and artorias I can't imagine how good these dlc bosses can be.

I think the character on the horse is Miquella and that they are riding Torrent. He may be torrents former master perhaps and then Torrent was given to Melina. If it is Miquella, I think we may enter the DLC through Miquellas cocoon.

I'm so excited for the DLC especially from a gameplay, worldbuilding and fashion standpoint. I personally hope they expand on the past of the lands between as well as miquella so we can get some more juicy lore too.

"Shadow of the erdtree" sounds like we will explore the crucible, the og tree that was consumed by the Erdtree and is connected to crucible knights and the misbegottens!

Knowing how random some of the DLC entrances have been in the past I wouldn't be surprised if you activate the DLC by touching the Miquella cocoon in Mohgs boss arena

The character on torrent reminds me of Miquella. The long golden hair with the same braids. The clothes are similar to what he was wearing when Mohg took him. We could be going into the past, before the erdtree was completed (hence shadow of the Erdtree). To me that “lightning bolt” looks like some sort of golden liquid (sap?). So that could be infesting the tree and will then become the erdtree. (The character could also be Marika)

My hopes of a DLC were of Miqualla's dream, Godwyn's world and the time before. But I really wished for kinda like a sekiro boss rush mode dlc with new bosses and variants not to mention new bosses that need to be of new characters also some old ones in thier prime

To me the yellow stuff looks like the dew that is mentioned in some of the item descriptions. I'm going to guess this is set in the past. The figure on the horse is Miquela and it will more or less be what all the cut content that was datamined hinted at.

Fairly certain this is Miquella on the horse. Could also be Marika but when we're talking about the "shadow" of the Erdtree, it's pretty safe to assume we're referencing the Haligtree and how Miquella's been trying to sprout their own tree to compete with the Erdtree. I've been hanging in a few discords since the announcement and the theory I'm clinging to right now is this: If this is indeed Miquella and they're a grown up, it has to mean we've somehow entered their dream (touching the arm in Mohg's arena, or touching some statue?). I'm assuming this is the past when Torrent's "former master" was Miquella, since it doesn't have a saddle. Perhaps the dream is what Miquella imagines the future to be (when they're all grown up after the slumber), or is reliving the past and is trying to assume the Haligtree succeeded in "wrapping around" the Erdtree (since you can see the Erdtree is clearly wrapped by a different tree, and I think the yellow stuff is sap being squeezed out of it). CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE DETAILS TO COME!!!

New bosses, new places to explore, more epic weapons as well! I’m excited and I pray there’s new Scythes as well, I wanna see what this dlc shows and how much punishing it could be

My guess is that is queen markia, and torrent. Maybe she was the original owner before the shattering. Here's hoping it's an awesome prequel like time schinanagins in ds1. Would love to see all the lord's in their prime or at the very least Maliketh, malenina and rahdan.

Everyone is talking about bosses but holy shit just imagine the open world and the legacy dungeon. May surpass leyndell and the exploration might be peak.

I started NG+ kind of by accident, so I hope we can access it pretty early.

If that’s Miquella on Torrent then the tree in the distance is the Haligtree. It looks like the Haligtree should according to the Haligtree area, and it looks like it’s dripping unalloyed gold.

They need to do another multiple stage boss that catches you off guard and a boss rush mode

Maybe this could be related to the badlands somehow, you know the area the tarnished gets sent to when they are banished for losing grace, idk the tree and setting just reminds of me of the badlands

I have some theory’s about it I think that it’s either death blight related like stuff with Goldwyn and such because of the black tree or stuff with Miquella because of the character in the corner

It was an announcement of what's in development, so I'm not surprised there's no trailer. Even so, it does make me wonder how far along they are with elden ring dlc. Also, as for the entrance, the two obvious ones since it's called "Shadow of the Erdtree" hints towards either Lenydell or deeproot depths. So I think I need to prep my main character for that :)

The tree reminded me of the Prince of Death’s Staff…and how the crones lamented to Miquella in Deeproot Depths…boiss, we meeting the final 2 demi-gods; the most fearsome empyreans and the prince of death himself

I sorta wonder if that tree in the background has something to do with the omen crucible. I mean we’re told that omen used to be seen as divine so another tree that’s been eclipsed by the erdree literally living in it’s shadow would be interesting.

Im really excited for this dlc. Still gotta beat the main game on my new wretch character so i can use every new weapon on other characters with a save file copier. Just need to do the side quests and then easily beat the game. Then imma do the dlc

The picture looks like it shows a dead or destroyed erd-tree with a girl on Torend on a grown field. There are like ghosts or memories of tombstones (I think) and or dead soldiers aswell as their banners. Maybe a DLC that is after the storie or a already destroyed similar lands between

DLC will be a flashback in time to miquella and the haligtree accessed via touching the cocoon in Mohgs areana. You heard it here first! Second DLC will be about Goldwyn accessed via stormveil

I would expect to receive more news on this in a few months, but we will probably get a release in about nine months to a year. Just an estimation. But damn I'm hype af

I plan on starting a few new charters. For sure killing mohg and fire giant. Pretty sure that’s the point the dlc will pick up at.

I think the character in the corner is Miquella, and the "Shadow of the Erdtree" is referencing Miquella's Haligtree which is Shadowed by the literal Erdtree. Also I think it's Miquella because it's a small blonde haired character.

The true Elden Ring DLC is in our hearts.

I'm only on Journey-2, nearing MAX Level, and close to 100% Item Collection. And I still think it's gonna be difficult. Remembering Fishing Hamlet and Brume Tower, I just know there's gonna be something I'm stuck on here.

Inside the Mogwhyn Palace, where Miquella's arm turns around and Mohg comes out, i think touching miquellas hand and being absorbed into his "dream" is what will start the dlc. It's just the right amount of hidden. You have to be fairly high level to beat Mohg. You either do the Varre Quest or you get to the Consecrated Snowfield. Of course it could also be like DS3. Oh you are in Castle Morne? Here's this random NPC that brings you to a "reccomended Level 90" DLC.

Ngl, the thing I want the most in terms of new weapons even though it’s very unlikely is to add a matchlock gun as a weapon. Would be especially fitting for the samurai and because we already got a lot of demonstrations of gunpowder usage and technology from the late Medieval period that’s already in Elden Ring.

Here's the boss lineup leaked: godskin trio, duo ulcerated tree spirits, malenia and Elden beast (3 phases), 17 erdtree burial watchdogs in the smallest arena ever, and finally Mohg and Morgott but they're stuck in their second phases and Mohg can't be killed cause he's constantly depleting your health. Miyazaki truly understands why we play his games

Ringed City and Old Hunters are my favorite dlcs of all time along with the Witcher 3 expansions. Can't wait for this one!

I love how people in the US keep complaining about Japanese game studios announcements always randomly being at midnight whilst totally forgeting about time zones being a thing. FromSoft is a Japanese company and it was 5 p.m for them when they tweeted the news.

I genuinely think they should either do a complete rebalance of summons or lock them out of the dlc That will dramatically improve boss quality if they’re supposed to be focused only on one opponent Thai is their chance to rectify every complain about Elden ring and perfect it This may very well end up being the best dlc ever and might have new bosses that will climb into both the hardest and the best boss lists of all time I’m super hyped

I would love to see a Friede-style boss in the DLC. Even though Elden Ring is my personal favorite out of the souls games, Friede's fight is just...so good

I hope it starts off at the end of the main game, like a war happens with the erdtree again and this time the tarnished that are left alive actually survive because they have a tarnished lord

Given the name, I'm almost certain that Character is Marika, and it may be accessed in deep root depths, bc that's also an area about the history of the erdtree

i think the reason why this time they didnt show any gameplay or trailer video is because they might need more time to show something more interesting but they finally wanted to reassure everyone that in fact there will be a dlc as people expected it but nothing was ever announced and we didnt actually know for sure

Maybe the death infection from Godwyn (which was already at the the Erdtree roots) killed the Erdtree and we get more Godwyn content. Also the person on the horse looks like Miquella and we also don’t have much content on them either.
