This is the most comprehensive faith guide I have seen. I have collected pieces of this info from other websites, but no one has organized it into a coherent guide like you did
Absolute game changer, I was getting frustrated with not having any good incantations early game but this is exactly what I needed as a faith based caster. 10/10
Tip I wish you mentioned: To cast spells from horseback you need to move the seal to your right hand. Really had a hard time with that Golden Knight lol
Thank you! I also have an updated version of this build for Mid & Late game here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html And also a Dragon Faith Priest here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-czxQnHp44TE.html
My favorite early game armor and weapons are the full chainmail set and morning star with a Sacred Blade ash on it and the Cipher Pata on swap. I can stay at base endurance and focus on pumping faith to 30 and vigor to 25 early game and slaughter everything while capping strength at 12.
Thanks for the note. It does indeed sound pretty useful, I often go for the Kaiden set nowadays for beginning armor, looks cool and is pretty good too stats wise. I'll keep the Ash in mind for newer characters, as I was mostly spamming the Incantations in my run.
Glad I was able to help! The early game can eventually get troublesome because the Open World is huge so you feel like you don't get upgrades forever depending on what areas you decice to explore first since they might not have anything really good for your build or playstyle.
this is still an amazing guide 2 years later however i wanted to share two notes i learned over time. 1. I personally recommend the stone sword keys as your keepsake. you get two of them, meaning you can IMMEDIATELY open the fringefolk hero'es grave... why would you do this ohhh i dunno... dragon runes, dragon communion seal, a golden seed off the boss, banished knight oleg as a summon, a greatbow, the erdtree favor talisman and another stonesword key. yeah you get a lot. 2. also also, put just two points into arcane and you can use the basic dragon spells, and guess what talisman finally works with dragon breath attacks? that's right, the roar medallion 3. speaking of states, put one point into strength and you get access to most maces and especailly the morningstar, put wildstrikes on that with bloodflame blade and thank me later. 4. speaking of weapons, if you want to rely more on spells for damage (who can blame you catch flame is awesome, btw also cheap in the faith requirement and the fire damage scales off your faith so dont worry about low arcane), put ENDURE on your weapon, lets you trade with all of your spells
Important to remember, each state has brake points, after which they give reduced benefits, so do some searching before sinking all your hard earned runes in to a single stat.
Thank you for the reminder! I'll keep in mind what are the softcaps for each stats, it's just that I haven't really reached the upper mid/end game areas yet with my Faith Build.
Nice 😁 I'm planning on lots more Elden Ring content, hopefully with better quality too as I play more and reach end game and such. My Faith run has been pretty fun too so far, as I have learned some things from my Mage one to improve it even further. There's still alot of spells to unlock but the game is really long, so lots left to play and experience still in these early release days.
Hi there, and thank you! I really made the guide with the intention to help new players, since it can be rough to find new magic upgrades and such with the huge open world, glad it helped!
another tip for fighting that knight crouch walk behind him and use the poison gas spell. he wont attack and poison him then back stab. if you have a bleed weapon do that 2. and people trying to do this the cypher pata does not have any weight into it. so you can use bronze shield with baracade on it. and another sword to enhance it with holy use the regen spell 2
Glad to be of service! Speaking about Memory Slots, I have now a guide here for how to find ALL the extra slots, everything in one place! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9od_k-_nvck.html
Hi there, just Lock-On to the targets with Right Stick or Q/Middle Mouse Button. You have to properly aim though in that you also need to be facing towards the target. With spells like Honed Bolt however, you can get it to hit the enemies even with your back turned to them, because the bolt comes from above instead of being an aimed projectile!
Hi there and thank you! You can certainly start as a Confessior. The starting class stats don't matter THAT much, and both Prophet and Confessor are very similar to one another anyways. I also have an updated version of this Faith Guide for mid & late game here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html And a Dragon Priest Build: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-czxQnHp44TE.html
I know it's not amazing or anything, I decided to talk about it because you can get it super early at basically no cost. Dual wielding it as fists can be fun too!
You don't need to kill the invader to get that faith based weapon just jump down and run to the right and grab it. The invader will still come kill you byt he takes forever and you get the thing.
You are correct, the reason I said to go without any Runes is that he can be pretty tough, and if we die we don't lose anything than after getting our Faith Weapon!
@@francois-xaviernadeau108 just run away from invader and go grab the item then let him kill you. U lose runes but gain the thing. Tge item sucks anyway it does low damage and has short range
I have Radagon's Soreseal for +5 to all physical stats, and also a Great Rune for +5 to ALL stats, I explain how to get them all here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B0kaYYo4VRg.html
You can! You have a respec NPC after you defeat the second story boss at the Raya Lucaria Academy. I have a guide for a great DEX build here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GSGp-S4k30Q.html
Hi there, and thank you! To cast while on horseback, either equip your Sacred Seal on your right hand, of if it is equipped on left hand, press Y/Triangle then R1/RT.
To target properly with the fireball spell, I recommend you always be on the move with your horse, gain the distance, cast the spell and then only turn towards the knight right as you're casting the spell, so it will properly fire at him.
thanks heaps CRPG Bro - i'm now building momentum in the game, enjoying my boss & creature encounters more with these spells and set up as prophet. followed a lot of your set ups in your videos! much appreciated. clear details and easy to follow.
Hi there, I'm really glad the guide has helped you have lots of fun with your Prophet. And there's even better spells to come later on, especially the ultimate dragon spell which is simply insane!
Good video, when people that do walkthroughs instead of showing the paths they take they cut out the part of exactly how to get there especially when you teleported to the dragon burnt ruins to go into the mine, you didn't show the part to get the talisman you automatically cut to the talisman. Edit; (He has a separate video how to navigate the mine).
Hi there, the reason I didn't show the entire path to the Talisman is because I already had a full video for it, which should have appeared at the top right corner at around 09:03, I mention it at that time. Apologies if it didn't show properly, here is the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4kDF5Omto4U.html
@@cRPGBro ahhhhh ok. More thanks my friend... And i repeat, sooo gooood guide to feith, or faith sorry my english. I try created profeth or Confesor. But i like much this build
I actually have an updated version of this guide for Mid & Late game with a Faith + Arcane Build 😁: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html
So my experience getting the incantation talisman was that running straight through would get me killed 9/10 times... i had ot end up killing a couple of the centipede guys with lightning spear... so i guess it COULD be done at the start but damned if i know how to do it. Everytime i go for the ladder on the side of the building the centipede below would just one shot me. So i have zero idea how you managed to get up that ladder without getting wrecked--- but kudos to those who did it at the start.
@@islembou9 no... i did this at like level 29 w/ 15 vigor, 16ish (?) mind, and 30 faith using lightning spear. i also didn't run straight through, i killed everything i needed to.
I’d also like to add, if anyone wants to know just how good the catch flame incantation is: I’ve used it solely to kill every boss I’ve encountered all the way up to godrick. I’m talking ulcerated tree spirit, tree sentinel, crimson knight, blood hound knight, etc… it’s a very powerful spell and if you time it right, you can also just ride around on horse spamming it at enemies.
Thanks for the tip! Catch Flame is quite the handy starter spell indeed, it has great damage, low FP cost, stagger potential, and decent casting speed! Only downside is the melee range.
Hi there, he can always be found patroling the road right next to the Artist's Shack Grace in the northern part of Liurnia of the Lakes region. If you teleport to that grace, you'll always find him there down the road, right as you spawn.
It can be useful. It's why I recommend you get the Cipher Pata Fist in this Guide too as to have a very easy to get Faith Scaling weapon in the early game.
It scared the crap out of me cuz I thought I lost my character. Thankfully once I got it redownloaded i was able to load my game back up. I was so mad tho lol
Thank you for the tip! I just tested it and it can be a fun Invocation indeed, but have to be careful with the small delay as opposed to Honed Bolt, I think.
Early dragon spells are amazing specifically the scarlet breath it’s Been a great source of damage cast and use a whole blue bar on boss then wack it’s health down it does a good bit of damage and the rot of course
Yeah, Rotten Breath alone can be an amazing boss killer, especially for how early you can get it! I actually have just released a Dragon Priest Build guide here where I cover the best Dragon Incantations: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-czxQnHp44TE.html
@@cRPGBro very true I’ve been using it with the Lordsworn’s straight sword and at plus 2 getting a ar of almost 300 with no scaling yet considering how easy some other weapons can be to use I thought I’d mention it
Hi there, you most likely have your Seal equipped on your left hand. You can't really use your left hand slot while on horseback, unless you press Y (Triangle) + R1/RT, this should let you use it. Otherwise just equip the Sacred Seal on your right hand while mounted.
Hi there, I explain it at 03:13 You can go down the broken bridge to the right of the castle, and by following that path it should lead you to the first Grace of the second area, Liurnia of the Lakes. The same Grace that your each after defeating the last boss of Stormveil Castle.
Early dragon spells scarlot rot is OP you can proc scarlet rot on bosses run around and they die. I havent even went into the first castle yet but i wss able to defeat the magma dragon with it on a low lvl😊
Thanks so much this video was very helpful. Normally I hate using guides on first playthroughs but I just can't do it with Elden Ring. I am completely lost haha
Glad I could help! Elden Ring is really an immense game so having some tips early can make a big difference. As the Open World nature of it means you can go for hours without relevant gear upgrades.
I disagree with you pouring points into faith like that so early. You need to have 20 vigor to get past Margit. It’s not 100% true for everyone, but most players will get fucked by most bosses in the early area without building vigor up. It’s also fun to play around with the dragon communion spells with this build style.
For the beginning, you can go with Banished Knight or Kaiden Set. Both are farmable from starter area enemies: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lXxwabhmFOc.html For mid & late game, Radahn or Veteran (Commander Niall) are pretty good sets for nice Damage Negation. Great Jar Talisman can help a lot with Equip Load issues to retain medium rolls.
Happy to help bro 😁 I also have a more complete Mid & Late game focused FAITH Caster Guide here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html
I know the game is new, but does it not feel harder than any other game in every way? I would say bloodborne’s DLC bosses rival elden ring’s tougher bosses, but even Margit felt somewhat difficult at level 7 when I killed him and same with Godrick at like level 20
I think it's just that Margit is probably one of the toughest bosses of the entire game overall (and the Souls series), which is especially more noticeable because he's also pretty much the FIRST boss most players will have to fight to progress the story! I have noticed a lot of enemies seem to have more delayed or harder to avoid combos as well, but at the same time we have a few more tools at our disposals, summons alone (the creatures) make a big difference and help a lot.
You most likely have your Sacred Seal on your left hand. When on horseback, either have your Seal on your right hand, or if you have it on your left hand, press Y (or Triangle) + R1/RB.
I watch with subtitles and they get wild around the time you start describing the lightning spells. The honed bolt will now forever be called Hornet Boat in my house 😂 it sounds terrifying.
Yeah, it's such an amazing and massive game! It's why I decided to focus on early game for this, to really help others become powerful enough to take on the Open World areas.
Amazing guide, helped allot. The one thing still eluding me is how to get gear that doesnt make me overweight or should i spend some levels on endurance aswell?
Thank you for the support! I also now have a complete Mid & Late Game Guide for Faith Casters as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html For Armor, at first I would stay at Medium Load, by mixing some pieces of heavy armor sets like Banished Knight & Kaiden early game: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lXxwabhmFOc.html Also please check my TANKING Guide where I show all the ways of achieving damage negation besides armor, and as a Faith Caster, we have many: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iLCIFe9h6zc.html You can also use a special Wondrous Flask effect later on to get Fast Rolls even with heavy armor: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aHhzPa62qEU.html
Oh one thing... In south zone, when you start, you see Morne castle... Well, if you go to left zone in one ruins, you can pick a scyte wing, one faith weapon. 16 strengh 16 dex and 24 faith
So, I am following this awesome guide, and ran into something very odd...I can't cast Flame Sling from horseback (trying to kill golden knight). The minute I mount up, the spell icon goes dark, and pretty much nada. I certainly don't have this issue on my Astrologer, so I'm at a complete loss as to what's going on. It's kind of brought the whole process to a screeching halt :) EDIT: oh, FFS, the caster thingee has to be in your right hand to use it on horseback. Seriously?? lol
Hi there, and thanks for the support! Yep, the Sea has to be on your right hand. However, if it's on your left hand, then you should also be able to trigger it by pressing Y or Triangle + RB or R1, but then you'll wield your left hand seal instead of your right hand weapon.
Thank you! I would keep increasing Faith if your intent is to be mostly a spellcaster Prophet, which can be done. But Vigor is also needed every now and then to be able to take enemy hits and still survive.
Sure thing! You can swipe the Faith scaling fist for another Faith weapon just fine. As for Confessor, because we can easily learn the spells through any class, feel free to go for it!
Thank you! I'm working on a complete mid & late game Guide for Faith Casters too like I did with my Sorcery Caster here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dZ3YXQ_1hCo.html
Thanks for this. Being playing the Prisoner SpellBlade that rocks. But was thinking about the "other" side of magic 🙂 What do you do if / when u out of mana and out of potion ? Can you melee do any damage ? Might give it a try for 30-40 level to get a feeling of the class. For a Little break from Prisoner, play her to much 🙂 All you the first youtube i watch using spell like this, That what look interessant. Thanks kindly.
Apologies for the late reply, but it's very hard to run out of FP because of you can change the ratio of your HP/FP Flasks. Prophet can also charge most incantations for higher damage (so more enemy one shots) while retaining same FP cost. You can do some damage melee wise with Faith scaling weapons like the Cipher Pata.
you should have added a third memory stone, using a shortcut to Liurnia, you can just ride there and pick it up. It's on the left arm of Liurnia in a big tower. It's a fun journey, no bosses along the way
At the moment, for my level 60 Caster, I am using some heavy armor pieces. Mostly because I have enough Equipment Load and stats for them, so that you still retain Medium Encumbrance for good rolls even after all that. I have a new guide here for how to easily get access to the heavier armor and even many weapons for a caster without needing to spend a single point in anything besides Vigor, Mind and INT: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B0kaYYo4VRg.html
Dude, that is awesome as heck. Beaten the game with an INT build and now want a FTH/ARC dragonmage build and had no idea where to start. THANK YOU. Awesome starter guide. 😃
Glad I could help! 😁 I also have an updated FAITH Guide here for Mid & Late Game: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html And the best FAITH Spells for post patch 1.04: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQNmaGvnihQ.html
im amaze of how honest and clear this guide is, some will show a build dmg with a +6/+10 wep on an early enemy without telling.. this guide literally a guide without breaking the fun of the game and realistic dmg output (which shown me how 30 faith works).. kudos man im subbing now
Hi there, and thank you so much for the sub! I also have another Faith Build guide done in the same style for mid/late game that you can check here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SQNmaGvnihQ.html
thank you for this, soo many helpful youtube guides that said early game where actually super hard early mid game stuff that i just could do, after watching this i literally managed to go and collect all this stuff, thanks for making a noobs journey easier!!
No problem! This Guide was focused on the early game to really help new players handle the Open World at the start. For Mid & Late game I have an update here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html
I'd say one spell to definitely get if you're going faith build is the rot breath dragon incantation and the upgraded version. It can apply scarlet rot which does a stupid amount of damage over time I'm talking like 3k-4k with one proc/use of rot breath
The Pata is just there for a very early Faith scaling weapon. Ideally the build is mostly for a pure caster, but there are some other weapon choices too.
@@kuroashikun4895 For an early weapon, there is also the Treespear. But I prefer to just go all out on spells since we have enough FP and flasks for that. There is another great Incantation to get too, the Rot Breath spell from Dragon Church in Caelid, you just need a Dragon Heart by defeating any dragon to get it, it will apply Rot to bosses which is a very powerful damage over time effect.
one tip i dont know if anyone has commented but when you fight the night u can lure him in abit in the trees area where the monster on the boat u can summon your minions to help tank up damage
@@cRPGBro one more thing to make it even easier is to get the Rotten Stray Ashes minion then let the minion hit till the rot stack and just kite around and see golden knight boy hp disappear
I'm really liking faith builds. I have a "paladin" in my confessor. Now I want I want a prophet. So before I make one, you recommend HP to 15, then pump faith to 25? This helps alot. Some other guys show their end game character with perfect stats and best in slot gear. But their videos didn't help me. Thanks for the video! This helps.
Faith certainly makes for a fun run, especially if you already know where to find some of the early gear/spells which is what I focus on this guide. I do indeed recommend you get Vigor to 15 for a nice HP boost, and then Faith to around 25-30 for a nice boost to damage with your Incantations. I prefer to do it from the beginning because frankly at the end game you are already have everything you need, but the issue is getting there in the first place. Thank you for the support!
@@cRPGBro I got set up because of this video. I'm level 27 and I'm nuking enemies and wrecking bosses. When I do co-op, I'm doing lots of damage and living more. This guide helped me! I did the 15 vigor, and I have 25 faith (+5 with talisman). Thanks once again!
@@adrid.senpai7587 That's amazing to hear! Really glad the guide was so useful to you, especially for the beginning parts so you can now take anything on the Open World!
Hi there, I'm wearing: Godrick Soldier Helm Kaiden Armor Godrick Gauntlets Godrick Soldier Greaves These aren't exactly special stats wise, but they can all be achieved as random loot from the many Knight enemies you face in the start area of the game.
You're right, back then I didn't know about it, but it is indeed a wonderful spell with little requirements that can easily overpower many bosses from the Scarlet Rot damage over time effect!
Nope! You can just drop down the broken bridge to the east of the Castle, go up the path and that will lead you to the first Liurnia of the Lakes Bonfire, same place you go after beating the Castle.
Thank you! I have also just released a truly complete version of Prophet/Faith Casters Guide for Mid & Late Game: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O3gQjpStCQ8.html
