The DLC is not even out yet and I already want an Elden Ring 2.

It is crazy to see an expansion win Game of the Year.

The from soft game mantra closely parallels traditional Japanese pedagogy in learning. “The teacher is not required to teach but the student is required to learn” is a common attitude in Japan. First they humble you, then you are required to learn without instruction even to the point where your master will hide information from you and you must seek it out until you either quit proving you never had the heart and passion to master your craft or the trial by fire and genuine accomplishment make you into hardened steel. Love it.

Making the "mini sequel" to Elden Ring as a big, and relatively expensive, DLC is a pretty good idea. The devs can reuse the same engine as is, while concentrating on just making new content. Also, who's ready for 18 inches of Messmer?//

That “step out moment” you mentioned has been fromsoft’s since 2015 imo. The moment you leave iosefka’s clinic and see Yharnam for the first time is incredible.

Great to know that this DLC is one of the best in the game industry :) it’s been a while since we had an all-timer one! I loved Phantom Liberty, but I dunno if I even liked it more than Hearts of Stone for TW3. I think it’s great that Shadow of the Erdtree and Blood & Wine stand as two of the best video game DLCs of all time.

I'm so stoked for this! Started my second ever playthrough a few nights ago. Running a dex/faith lightning samurai.

Omg naked dude was a challenge... i had this experience too. I ended up killing him but oh man it was crazy strong. Currently, I am past Dancing Lion and I am in a field with a giant with a cup for fire. I went into a castle... so good. Frustrating but its amazing 👏

The same exact thing happened to me in blood borne, I never got to beat or even scratch the surface of the dlc with how new game+ was. Learned my lesson

I was debating myself on whether I should play Shadow of the Erdtree with my first character or the second run one I'm currently doing. But you helped me make up my mind. Current playthrough gets a pause, and the old INT build is coming back on the field for this one.

Might as well pre order it, I'm playing it on day one anyway.

Me and the boys have been doing a new playthrough for the past couple months. Was able to bring up two new characters in this time and help a new player reach end game. Locked and loaded.

If u collected the bells. You can upgrade any new weapon in the DLC. You are not blocked with 1 weapon

I was getting kind of nervous about that because I think I’m new game +6. I completely platinum the game and I wanted to take my first character into this DLC but I thought that everything else was going to scale with new game plus because some guy said that he asked the developers and they said we don’t recommend you going in on a new game plus character and they were laughing.😅

Bioshock infinite still has the best step out moment ever. Even though it’s technically not a step out lol. The moment you burst through the clouds and see Columbia for the first time. MYGOODNESS, straight chills!

This game is great but personally I prefer my guided open world games because at least I can understand what to do and how long I have left it’s not fun to run around aimlessly for hours and not make much progress it’s why these games need to be played with guides I will never play a souls game without a guide

The issue you faced with difficulty is because you were on ng+ ( or even further ) where enemies are way difficult than first run. Other reviewers who were were using base game normal run characters didn't face that much difficulty as you did

I like most other fromsoftware games but, I struggle to get into elden ring. I have fallen asleep with controller in hands more than once. The only other game that happened to me with was gow ragnarok(17 times before ending). I thought as much as I like bloodborne(well over 450hrs), i'd get into elden ring similarly going in. Idk what it is exactly but I think its time for me to uninstall, wait for the dlc to be 30% off or more down the road, & try at it again.

So excited. My main guy is basically a god, third playthrough lvl 328. Will i really need to worry about the Skadu Trees or whatever? I wasn't able to beat it the first time until was around lvl 200

I am excited for The Elder Scrolls 6, Avowed, Star Wars Outlaws, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine II (13 years) I have waited for this game. Just gives me hope in escaping the reality I live in. I am also, glad I gave Starfield another chance I am loving it with the Star Wars Mods. Taking vacation off for Space Marine II and Star Wars Outlaws. Video games are my escape from reality and your interview gave me hope for great single player games by, Bethesda. I lose track of time playing New Vegas which is much needed.

Why people like these games baffles me. I don’t want to be angry in my free time on games.

Souls like games have still never captured me... ive tried so many (the ones ive put most of my time into are DS1 and elden ring) and ive just never cared enough to continue them. Im not super sure why as i can clearly recognize how incredible the games are, just never clicked with me ig. Unless you consider hollow knight a souls like then ive never fully beaten one. Again shadow of the erdtree looks incredible, but i just know im not going to like it LOL

I know it defeats the purpose but i do wish they had a mode for casual gamers. The world was so fun to explore and the fighting was so fun but it got too difficult about half way through the base game and i fell off.

I always wanted to try Elden ring, but I'm just not into soul's games. It's not my type of game. The only two souls like games I liked was rise of the ronin and Stellar blade that was my favorite this year.
