On a serious note though: if that did happen, what if Radagon is some different type of mimic? One made with the essence of the crucible as well. OR Radagon is ALWAYS there... No matter the individual that ascends... OR... no I'm just kidding. I'm stopping there. 😂

@@nitinburli7814the difference in landscape was probably just a precautionary measure to make sure as little as possible was shown that early on :) it allowed the reveal trailer to land all its punches that much better bc we had absolutely no expectation as to what was coming besides a field of wheat and the tree in the distance

I reckon it will never be resolved, and left ambiguous. It’s dangerous to assume there will be resolutions in a Hidetaka Miyazaki game. Miyazaki has a history of creating intentionally unresolved character endings, with the main focus being to drive conversation.

In regards to your final comment, yeah Martin did some Space/Sci-Fi even in his medieval works such as ASOIAF. A lot of science fiction is emphasised in Elden Ring and are prevalent amongst the liurnian areas of the game, and particularly around the focus of the Stars, Gravity, Glintstones and Fate.

There are people who talk about that, but it's still important to remember that GRRM only produced the first draft. Even as late as the network test (years after GRRM had supposedly last touched the lore!) there were things in the game that were very very different from what was in the game at launch. A lot more time passed between GRRM's draft and the network test than passed between the network test and launch. It's also complicated by the fact that Miyazaki was already a fan of GRRM and influenced by him pre-Elden Ring, and that they have a lot of shared influences (they clearly both have affection for Lovecraftian Cosmic Horror) so it makes for a really complicated situation to sift through.

@@Eladelia only produced the first draft? That is not supported by any of the interviews. As I have said, people are easy to dismiss Martin’s work even when the Elden Ring team itself treats his contributions as being what Elden Ring is. He came up with the name Lands Between, not Miyazaki

@@epiccthulu They didn't use the words "first draft" but that's absolutely how they've described GRRM's contribution. They've said he wrote something, handed it over, and his involvement stopped because it didn't make sense to have him involved in the ongoing process of adjusting the story based on the ways it needed to change to accommodate gameplay (as he is not a game developer). Again, the state of the game demonstrably changed in dramatic ways between what was in the network test and what was in the release build, and the amount of time between the network test and GRRM's last known involvement was much much longer. That doesn't make him not involved, it just means that this is not so straightforward as saying he wrote what we're seeing by a long shot.
