The Carian Royalty bloodline is a whole family of badasses. First you have the Full Moon Queen Rennala, who fought the Golden Order so fiercely that they were forced to strike a truce by marriage between Rennala and Radagon. You have all the Carian Knights who fought so well that even an entire army of Golden Order soldiers couldn't overpower them. Finally you have Rellana, the Full Moon Queen's twin sister, who followed the prized child of the Golden Order into the Realm of Shadow, and continues to serve him as his sword. "Only in this place could moon and fire ever hope to be together." Also what is it with Carian princesses falling for Golden Order fundamentalists? Lmao.
This boss felt like Pontiff Sulyvahn 2: Electric Boogaloo. Rellanas redonkulous aggro combined with the twin swords of opposing elements definitely got me thinking of the old pope. Good thing she doesnt summon a Stand.
It’s like Lady Maria and Pontiff Sully had a daughter and I loved every second fighting this utter menace to my health bar 10/10 would let her curb stop me again
Was kind of disappointed with the lore of this boss. You can compare it with Bayle a bit. Bayle is an example of perfect DLC lore addition. Rellana is an example of really crappy, lazy DLC addition. Bayle is built upon already existing puzzle pieces. In the base game, you piece together a puzzle and you notice you're missing 3 or 4 very specifically shaped pieces. And then the DLC comes and gives you those exact shapes. Meanwhile, with Rellana, it's like the base game puzzle picture was more or less completed, so instead of adding fitting puzzle pieces it's just another strip of extra puzzle pieces to be added to the side. It's slapped-on lore. This woman is supposedly the sister of Rennala, they first gazed upon the moons TOGETHER as children, and yet, there was never any mention of her anywhere in the lore of the base game. Mind you, I am perfectly aware stuff such as "secrecy" and "ripped from the annals of history" exist. Vile traitors whose names are forbidden to mention et cetera yada yada... You would have thought Rellana would be mentioned at the very least in the description of Renalla's Full Moon... But nope.
no? We hear of Carian PRINCESSES multiple times. It was obviously not just Renalla, and the Towers outside the Caria Manor had to be called the Three Sisters for a reason, no?
@@josephbulkin9222 Ranni is a Carian princess, and so was Rennala in the past. Hence, Carian Princesses as plural through time, not in the same time. Find me a spot where it was mentioned there were multiple princesses in the time Rennala was a princess.
And I thought that Malenia was already difficult and that master her fight would have been my greatest challenge... Until I fought Rellana and she obliterated me in seconds and without mercy
I am bit disappointed that her theme was the gameplay trailer it was so good and went so hard but here they remix it, I guess cuz it gave off final boss feel, should've gave it to messmer
