LOL I remember when Fromsoft said Elden Ring would take 50-60 hours to complete. My first run took 130 hours. It will probably take me an eternity to complete the DLC.

lol same man. I want to go full blind and I don’t feel anything was spoiled for me by just listening. The hype is off the charts for me!!! This is a very similar feeling I had before Skyrim got launched many years ago, but to be honest I’m completely more excited for this than any game ever in my life. This is truly legendary and historic times we’re living in. Feeling so blessed to live in a timeline I can experience this game fresh or at all. I feel this will go down as the best game ever made when all is said and done. For me it’s just been true love to play and pour myself into. It’s helped so much with my anxiety and depression. I am just so thankful for this masterpiece
@@HaloinfiniteEternal I watched FightinCowboy's review and he said it is 30 to 40 hours of playtime. That's with trying to complete everything 100%. I do know there's at least 10 Remembrance Bosses whereas base game has 16.
@@gsta3541 like I said I watched FightinCowboys review and he said he has done two playthroughs of the DLC and both took him around 30 to 40 hours to complete. He was going for 100% for the most part as well. Cowboy is a souls vet and always does good walkthroughs and reviews so I trust his opinion.
The manga original ending theory. The Elden ring dlc ending sucks and is underwhelming according to leaks and reviews. Adult Miquella the hyped up character simply sits on radahn during the final duo boss battle. Also the final boss battle is reskinned radahn. However there is hope. Elden ring has an ongoing manga called road to erdtree . The manga could give us an original ending to the dlc which is better than the original dlc trash ending. Me when I heard the leaks: No I don’t want that radahn being the final boss, I want fromsoftware to make good games all their existence for 10 years at least.
What does that mean though? Is the boss going to be super strong or will it be hyper tuned with one ridiculous move that makes the fight a defensive terror?
Orphan was easy for me. But I played Elden Ring first. But Malenia was difficult. I just can't wait for this to drop. So beyond excited and I'm 42. Not many games if any does it for me anymore.

@strawhatmucci7086 best dlc ever and I haven't even finished the first map. I explore every lil thing. Love it. And after I finish the dlc I was gonna do DS1-DS3. Just amazing games so far.
From what I understood, the surface area of the game is as big as Limgrave (which includes the Weeping Peninsula btw) but in terms of volume, it is like 3-4 limgraves stacked on top of each other. So what he said was true, from a certain point of view
I'm honestly overwhelmed. I have 10 characters, all PVP leveled from 135-165. I literally can't have more as the game only allows 10. Elden Ring has been my home for 2 years and got me through some hard stuff. There's going to be so much to alter and mess with to get all my heroes back into the perfect PVP state. This is gonna be like months of my life, I just know it lmao.
The game just keeps giving. My buddies and I have been cooping NG+ on a regular basis since launch. It's so big that we often forget about whole sections of the game.
Damn Fextralife, you folks are beasts. Between the number of hours playing the expansion, the time to write and edit this review, and the new build selector and map coming to the wiki day 1, it's SO MUCH output. Very impressive!
TBH From software is the only AAA studio that i trust to bring good content on the industry right now, im glad im not disapointed... can't wait to enjoy the DLC and upgrade all my current builds and equipment!!
This is such a stupid take in my opinion. While From isn't bad, they are creatively bankrupt as well, like most other companies. It's like being Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, it's always the same stuff, over and over and over.

It does help that From Soft releases same type of game every time (with Sekiro being the only outlier), if they never changed UI and game's title you would be able to tell difference between DS/DS2/DS3/BB/DeS/ER. Hell they never changed the story either, from DS until ER story was always "Main boss did something bad, collect key souls from few important bosses to unlock the last bossfight".
It’s not a huge deal the only thing I’ve heard complaints about is the reuse of bosses and enemies I just hope it’s not like 12 times like the avatar bosses
So there are no credits or anything after finishing up this DLC? I'm just standing here and I feel empty. You can't get up to the archway so I just feel like it's not finished. All of the NPCs are gone with the exception of Hornset Gandam, and her ass is sleep...I thought there would be a secret boss at Shaman Village. I don't feel that sense of completion
Seriously though, really hope they increase the limit of characters for you to create, increasing the amount of possible builds for you to just be forced to juggle them between old characters or even delete them sounds not so nice.

There's no way it's 40 hours with this much content. You see how vast the lands are, 4 legacy dungeons and multiple new and hard bosses, naaaah this is for sure not a 40hour DLC
Is the second half really as empty? Because I think I'm experiencing that right now. I did not start shadow but when I started the finger area as well as the coast, I'm starting to notice there's no caves or forts or churches

Question : does the dlc affect some npc quests or vice versa? I don't miss out on anything so is there something I need to do before the dlc to get the full experience?
Something quick about weapons and items for builds. While I was playing this DLC, I still haven't beaten the very last legacy dungeon but I was finding about 50% of everything I picked up scaling with Faith, so Faith builds are going to have an absolute feast, and the inverse happened to me where I was using a strength and dexterity quality build and was suffering from a famine of weapons I could use other than basic smithing weapons like the Milady. Intelligence seems to have been somewhat neglected but they do have a few new notable minor sorceries, and one major one that I saw costing 72 INT. Strength builds will find weapons to use pretty early, but again faith builds tend to get the majority of the boss weapons, so STR builds are limited to about two bosses that they can get things from, stuff they find in the world and smithing weapons. Arcane has some notable expansions upon their builds, especially the Dragon Communion for which they will be extremely excited for. Dexterity seems to have no shortage of smithing weapons to use, and they'll be happy to know that the katana class of weapons have gotten a massive influx of new items, and a brand new tier as well. I'm for the most part satisfied with my quality build playthrough, because it means I fought bosses head on, sword and shield, in order to learn and memorize their movesets. Messmer is by far one of my favorites so far, with another contender being the boss at the top of the crag mountain in the DLC, though I haven't finished the last legacy dungeon so favorite boss is still up in the air.
Watching your review is so different from other reviewers because you actually know what you're doing when it comes to combat. Watching some reviewers fail while fighting regular enemies and then go on to complain about difficulty breaks my heart.

To me it just sounds like there are different decisions you can make during the npc questlines. Just like when you have the choice to aid Millicent or kill her and you get a different talisman depending on your choice. I feel like this is the more likely answer
@abrupt9090 True you have a point. I was more so thinking along the lines of them having impact such as NPC questlines like Hyetta, Goldmask, Dung Eater, Fia, and Ranni that all have an ending tied to them.
@abrupt9090 I really hope so because since the base game came out I have had a bet with my friend that the final dlc boss would either be Miquella or Melina from the Frenzied Flame ending. I hope we get both 😭
I am so hyped for Milady. The light greatsword moveset looks SO good. I have to know, does the light GS moveset flinch larger mobs like rock miners, elite knights, etc?
Making the "mini sequel" to Elden Ring as a big, and relatively expensive, DLC is a pretty good idea. The devs can reuse the same engine as is, while concentrating on just making new content. Also, who's ready for 18 inches of Messmer?

I genuinely think this DLC is not good, and in no way can someone be genuinely critical of their favorite IPs and see this as good. It’s okay but it leaves a lot to be desired in every respect, it feels so disjointed and seperate from both its own story and the broader story of Elden Ring. The fact there is obviously so much content that was cut out is really unfortunate, it feels like a rushed product and it feels difficult just to be difficult. So many bosses lack the back and forth we’ve come to expect as souls fans and it’s honestly disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it for 40 bucks in the context of what we’ve seen From produce for 15. The Ringed City DLC, while being smaller, offered a far more interesting, cohesive, and fulfilling experience than Shadow of the Erdtree does.
I feel like the bosses and the damage of the normal enemies are just so fucking unreasonable but other than that it’s impeccable, but with those aspects it makes the game almost unplayable
@@Odiseusthelegend I think the exploration is worse than the base game, so many areas are genuinely like completely empty and devoid of anything rewarding or special but you’re forced to explore because maybe there will be a scadutree fragment around the next corner. So many areas feel just there for the sake of being pretty rather than having an actual purpose, and it really creates this huge divide between those areas and the areas that are full of so many cool things. The bosses and enemies are a tad overtuned, and I feel like some of the bosses are just hard to be hard. Messmer is the goat tho.

Let's fucking go! If the final bosses are anything close to Lady Maria, Orphan, Midir, Gael, and Isshin (making me reconsider just how dedicated I am to finishing these games) then it's gonna be their best DLC ever.
Hearing about some co-op additions is nice. If it makes co-op better that will convince my dad to play elden ring. He's on the fence because he wants to play it with me but the co-op is awful so that deterred him. But if the co-op is upgraded I'm gonna surprise him with his own copy of elden ring. And I'll get to show him the wonderful world of souls like games. (Elden ring is not a souls game).

I haven't played too far into it yet, but it seems good and quite challenging early on. I started it with a character that was at the end of the game with Morgott's Cursed Sword basically because you get that sword close to the end of the game, and thus I haven't had a chance to use it much. Seems like a high quality addition to the main game so far.
I've got 8 builds where I have completed NG, levels 174, 170, 187, 172, 183, 229, 167 and 181. I also have a new game ready to go at Mohg but am only level 101. I think I am set for quite a while.
Iron Pineapple said it took him 40 and he's pretty good at souls games, for the average player, this is like getting a FULL new elden ring for 40 dollars, I already pre-ordered and cant wait to play
agree with the empty spaces it reminded me of Dark Souls, the first part is very carefully crafted but not so much the second half. One of those examples are the Abyssal woods not much going on there and not having torrent made it a bit boring.
I had a feeling we would be a boss of all bosses. Fromsoft always pull it out the bag with dlc bosses. Manus, Gael, Orphan. The fact Malenia was in base game already told me the dlc was going to cook us
