I came to know from a friend who read the lore, that Radan, though he lost his sanity, was holding back a meteor shower with his gravity magic, which could have killed the people he loved.
This whole boss fight is apart of a festival made by his men for the sole purpose of killing him because they can't bear to see him in this sorry state, they love him that much. Really says a lot about who he was as a person before he became the monster we all now know him as.
I know he hits very hard, but this is the first time you fight a boss with a bunch of NPCs. So rather than intimidating, this battle is actually very exciting!!!
Part of how Elden Ring does the tonal shift from the original series so well. Still a dark world, but with an exciting "struggle against the odds hero, because there IS hope" vibe
This is such a diffrent boss. This feels like a Raid boss for a Pen and Paper Rollgame group. Even with the DM setting the mood at the start with first hyping it up with the Radahn festival speach and then painting the picture of the encounter before the Players go in. I wonder if this is on Purpose.
Miyazaki did say that he worked on Elden Ring by basing it on GRRM's worldbuilding book the same way a D&D DM works on his world based on a pre-made module
@@DarkGarfield_ “and here we see the majestic general radahn in its natural habitat: the Caelid wilds. Now he can be seen feeding on his primary source if nutrition, the corpses of former friends and foes. Oh it looks like a tarnished has arrived to his feeding ground. radahn prepares for the attack to drive off its unwelcome intruder, drawing a gigantic bow as a natural defense mechanism to repel the threat. Such awesome power, a testament to nature’s fury and majesty”
@@tracemacmillan9718 “and now the general has disappeared into the sky. Common amongst their species. Typically performed as a defense mechanism when confronted by surrounding wildlife. It’s usually a short confrontation.”
alot of people in the chat saying this game is easy just because this guy is good at fighting this boss and is like lvl 100. fight the boss yourselfs before saying shit. this boss is pretty fucking hard
Level 47, put in like 15+ tries and i still can't seem to finish him, almost every single attack is a one shot at this level. I'm probably way underleveled for this.
Bro thank you. BFD is really good at what he does, but people need to play the actual game themselves before judging its difficulty. So sick of seeing those comments from people who haven’t even played it yet
Radhan is the hardest boss I’ve encountered in a while, not even gwyn in ds1 or the nameless king from ds3 was as hard as him for me. I’d honestly put him up there with darkeater midir or the fume knight for me.
@@champagnepapi2660 I agree overall, but maybe to me it’s cause the drastic changes in gameplay compares to dark souls such as the dungeons and field bosses. But there are definitely bosses early on that make me think they just wanted to make souls vets cry
@@davidnewhart2533 I agree, I spent my entire early game in Caelid getting mauled and grinding weaker enemies, only to later realize that its supposed to be a higher level area lol. By the time I figured that out I was severely over-leveled for practically every other area and most bosses
“Before you can even reach him, Radahn is sniping your ass with the accuracy of my opinions on the internet, and firing a frankly suspicious amount of arrows from God. If you want to exercise the privilege of fighting him, you have to earn it - and that is the easy part. Even with summons, you need to pay full attention to his move-set, as his attacks swing wider than American elections and hit harder than a freight train on a semi truck. Now you may have already noticed, but that is a comically small horse. It’s like I’m looking at Shaquile O’Neal. This is because, in addition to being built like a steel mill, Radahn has the power to defy gravity, which constantly gets him into fights with solar bodies. The man is skateboarding a horse and holding back the stars while killing everyone he comes into contact with, and he does it from the hospice.” - Max0r
Loved this boss fight so much! Took me about 5 attempts with my uchigatana around +10 weapon upgrade level. Felt awesome having Blaidd, Alexander and Patches show up- 3 of my favourite NPCs
I was at Rune Level 50 with a +5 Moonveil; died a few times, like you, only I knew that there were summons for this fight already. Good job on beating Radahn by crushing him to death, though.
I did it at 76 with double cleanrot spear 5+, tried with 1 and a shield but it did very little damage, but it did teach me how the boss attacks therefore when to dodge, so i changed to double spear and actually had a chance to win, took me like 30+ attempts and like 2 retreats (either level up, get the other spear, or trying to gauge if im too low level for the boss), but got it done without summoning in both ways.
For those wondering it is any COLD ash of war, you will need the Glint Whetstone to apply it to your weapon. After I did that it took 2 more tries to beat him. Good luck!
@@cinderkenders744 maybe, then again in the clip that gravity manipulation only goes so far. He collapses and that son of a bitch wounds up eating him. I wouldn't be surprised if that horse is a reincarnation of Hillary Clinton's political career!
@@truss508 Yea, I guess it was to show that his power isn’t where it used to be after his half sister fucked him up. But during the fight he’s floating above the horse or making the horse teleport he only learned gravity magic because he didn’t want to abandon his horse
@@bensharp4851 lol uchigatana has bleed by default. you can obv see that he has an uchigatana with cold affinity which is int and dex. im just wondering about his actual level and stats bc i had a similar build and though it was very strong did much less dmg than he did
@@kanta5072 yes ik uchigatana has bleed by default, increasing your dex will higher your chance for a critical bleed proc, ive just been using base uchigatana and doing good dps
Yeah, he pretty much challenges all people and it includes not only the player but also the npc's the player interacted with too. A literal"Festival of War".
They should make a dlc where we can fight Radahan at his prime just that he is fking invincible and players have to raid in x10 at the same time even if they are the top of the top to have a chance at defeat him
If you could only fight like dante from devil may cry killing bosses would he so awesome theres just something about dantes style of fighting that makes him even more cool than cratos from god of war even tho dante was first and god war was inspired by that game too
If it makes you feel better, according to the item description of his great rune, he is actually using his gravity magic to weigh less so the horse doesn't have to much on there back.
@@Lepoetism he was asking what the Hell they were thinking when coming up with Radahn. I can’t say I blame him, because of his delayed attacks & his aggressive nature (on top of his wanting to one-shot you when you’re just trying to either stay aggressive or play it safe).
@@AlastorAltruistGaming If he complains about him before the patch, i don't blame him either, but after the patch, his fight became better & fair, his fight is still difficult, but he isn't the strongest demigod for nothing.
he's... a little tough but I'd honestly rate him on the easier side. I was severely underleveled, because I went for him early, and I beat him relatively easily?
Don’t feel bad; Radahn’s gravitational magic powers that he has allows his weight to be stabilized while also keeping his horse from being crushed to death.
Ik I’m late for this, but to get the ice INFUSION of your katana, not an actual ice katana, you have to nab the Glintstone Whetblade in the Academy of Raya Lucaria. This allows you to get magic or cold infusions for your weapons when mixed with a certain ash of war (like Unsheathe if you’re using just the Uchigatana). So you can use both Bleed AND Frost to make your opponent beg for mercy (though they’ll get none).
spent so much time trying to beat this boss and gave up did literally everything the game has to offer but i still get one shot, sucks that vitality is very necessary in this game
@@Hero138abcd ive followed a guide to do every boss and side boss, have 100% percent every region i have found and explored, im still a low SL which sucks
@@ThaPugster u shouldn't have followed guides smh. This game is about exploring and finding cool stuff on your own. That's what makes it so amazing. U ruined half of your fun 😐
This boss was an incredible disappointment to me. I was hoping for a great boss, and he what it took to be one. But in the end, he is just a massive unpredictable and unavoidable one-shotting tank. I do love the design and atmosphere, though.
@@arthurian4033 Radahn's HP don't scale with summons, he is made to have a massive health pool. As annoying as it might be, that's not the biggest problem. What I absolutely despise is that he can execute one-shotting attacks with basically no wind-up animation. It's wasted potential, unfortunately.
Did this at 61 with a +13 Long Sword using magic grease no summons no horse. Hes not to bad once you learn his tells and can sit under him for about 5-6 swings. He is still a awful fight unless you are a loser using magic or horse cheese.
@@vassago419 There are videos of beating the boss without summons. You can summon to make the boss easier. The fight is fun and very challenging if you solo it.
Just play the game for yourself and see, most people playing are whining about the game's difficulty. Most bosses become trivial if you summon and overlevel. Stop making dumb comments. Elden Ring has the hardest bosses of all the From Software games. Fight this boss solo without overleveling and you will get wrecked in seconds in the first few tries.
This game is difficult , coming from someone who has played all the souls games including dlc's. Most people playing got wrecked by Margit the first boss then went back to grinding. Read the comments from people who have actually played the game, lots of them struggling. Go to the subreddit for this game. Play the game for yourself to see how difficult it can be sometimes . Any boss fight in the souls series is manageable if you summon and overlevel.
Bruh, unless your overleveled, this fight will take you and your avengers themed friends outside the place and back to Narnia. This boss doesn't give a fck to anybody.
