Chase, brother, I would love to see a pot build sequel. Nothing has brought me sick joy lately as much as watching you snipe tarnished with giant pots. No matter the vid you're doing, that one or two pot throws you always manage to sneak in just make my day 😩
Hell yeah: the Wing of Astel has always been a top pick for me in Int builds, even above the Dark Moon Greatsword! Great to see it getting some appreciation!
You know, I just realized that both Intelligence and Faith builds have lots of options for sword beams. Wing of Astel, Moonveil, DMGS, Adula's Moonblade, Sacred Blade, Golden Order Greatsword, etc.
6:50 - For those curious about the many many useful ways Waves of Darkness can be used in battle and the merits of mid-battle teleportation, the start of an epic war.
I like to powerstance wing of astel with a magic or cold shamshir, its really good since shamshir has insane m1s and astel have a good AoW and R2. the powerstance running attack is also good for chasedowns.
18:02 if there is too many enemy’s going for one target the extras will back off in a standby mode, so you’re worth a lot of enemy’s to have that happen
If I'm not mistaken, the wing of astel's special heavy received a smaller buff compared with other curved swords, but the mantis blade heavy received a bigger buff
Thanks for another video Chase!! I'd love to see you try a full perfume build! Mixing up the craftables and the new perfume weapons from the DLC, i realise they're pretty bad, but if anything it will at least look pretty!
Yo what’s up guys, chase the wing 🪽 here😃 1:54 Also love how you casually said that’s gonna hurt hosty, that’s my bad😂ik you didn’t mean to do him like that 😂
I've never liked the Wing of Astel. Never used it on any of my Int characters. I know it's very good, it was never about effectiveness, it just rubs me the wrong way somehow. I can't actually explain any particular reasons _why_ I dislike it, I just... don't like it, for some arbitrary reason. Like a flavor that tastes bad. It's even weirder because the Bastard Stars is one of my favorite weapons in the game, and they're ostensibly very similar weapons.
Can anyone explain the pointless spectral trees on the mountaintops section? Legit what is the point of it? I am sure there’s some lore reason that’s a literal reference to some obscure real world religious belief or event but for the life of me I cannot understand why.
Honest to goodness the main reason I don't run Wing of Astel is that I don't like holding the funny bug wing. That's it. Otherwise it is PEAK Dex/Int weapon design. Slow but powerful AoW, unique mechanic with the R2s, and a really out-there design.
Heads up for anyone that didn't know: you can use Carian Retaliation on the Nebula ash of war before it explodes, great way to turn it against your opponent
I used to main astel's wing. I was sure chase was about to have a harder time. It does good damage but trading blows with it is never worth it, pvp wise is a hard time. PvE wise is awfully powerful. Having it dual wield was amazing.
Isn’t this weapon a little…buggy? …get it? Because it’s a… oh, never mind. I quite like this weapon on a spellblade build, for the short range pews, yeah, but mostly because you can stack the AoW with AoE spells like Zamor Ice Storm allowing you to set up with an obscured piercer, or even giving you space to drop Relanna’s twin moons. Pretty nasty. I thought we might see this weapon on the mushroom head build, but this is pretty cool too. Shows that it’s a good weapon that doesn’t need an Uber-buff to perform. Catch ya next time!
Having a unique buildidea but no clue if it actually works this way: Use the self explosion tears in your flask, bubble yourself to negate the dmg and once you used the flasks use the death knight axe from the dlc to teleporr you in your enemys face. I just wana watch people die like this. Edit: The twin axes might be better since they cover more range.
I love hearing how other people pronounce things. Chase calls ot Wing if A-stel. Meanwhile I've always said Ass-tul. Though jes probably saying it the right way. Im not changing how I say it though.
Chase, I know you build for PvP, but any suggestions for someone who's really having a tough time with Promised Consort? I'm NG, so I have lots of equipment options, as well as a good amount of scadutree/ash buffs. Unfortunately, I've tried more strategies than I can think of and don't have the reflexes of a great dodger. Actually, closest I've gotten to winning was having Tayhew fight while I healed, but he faltered near the end each time! Any suggestions for a reliably effective build for the sake of my sanity? Thank you, for that and for another fun video. I may have to main the Wing of Astel if I make it to the next NG!
1 minute ago! lets go. lmao I had just checked right before seeing this and there was no update yet. that couldn't of been more than like 3 minutes ago XD
Why does chase not live stream anymore? I caught it once back in ds3 but now that I'm off during the day I try to catch it but I'm guessing no lives anymore.
