Im a huge fan for about 10 years now. Imho one of the most exciting and underrated rock bands in this world. I once ordered some merch and Nick directly signed it from his home to my adress. Can musicians get any more close to their fans? Running this rock band as well as the merch store at the same time. Wtf? The passion behind this project is just breathtaking!
You hit it on the head. There isn't a more complete package band out there. From every song being a masterpiece in its own right, down to the fact that they're literally the nicest, most approachable guys you'll ever meet, they do it all so perfectly. I thank the universe every day for Elder. Their music makes truly makes life better.
Right on! I saw Elder this year in Pittsburgh. I was looking at merch before the show and Nick was there telling me about his hot sauce! What a humble human being. And amazing hot sauce! Dreadnought and Ruby the Hatchet were amazing supporting acts!
Its as if these guys have entangled themselves into the very quanta of our universe-the gream ohm that created everything was entangled with these guys’ fingertips, and i think the fact that we are hearing it means we are operating at high frequency. I resonate so hard with this bands harmonics its like i enter the ketamine realm and time becomes but one instant and in that instant elder’s discography plays and changes everything, forever shooting us into a parallel universe- a much better universe. Thank you elder-much love to you all
@@Conways_Euphonia that's beautiful, how you describe the music of Elder. I whish we see us in an other dimension one day, stay healthy, keep on Rocking, good Karma for you my friend 🙏🤘🍻🍀🎊🌿🏵️🎶🔊😘💯👌💃🦋🍻☀️🌕🌈🔥🚬☯️☮️🔛
My wife's twin sister died at 45 last week. Everything about this week was complete shyte, except for this. The one silver lining in my week. Thank You Elder!
So sorry for you and your wife, hope both of you are getting the comfort and support you deserve in this difficult time. Glad that this band we love is able to give you something positive right now. Stay Strong, both of you!
One of the most staggering progressions from the self-titled Lp and ‘Dead Roots Stirring’ to ‘Innate Passage’ Entire record absolutely rips… One of the only bands in recent memory who can make a 12 minute tune not boring
Already listened to this at least a dozen times, loving it more and more with each listen... so many cool connections and rhythmic shifts and pattern changes and reconnections... seriously prime Elder!
@@jasonanderson5980 for me I love the guitar work, but it’s that moment later on where that menacing bass riff opens up. THAT. FUCKING. ROCKS. 5:50. But the little bit before that is also awesome.
As amazing as Elder has been before this song, (including so many mind-blowing compositions; Lore, The Falling Veil, In Procession, etc...); this might just be the best ever!! So much amazing compositional greatness!... so much beautiful interaction of Nick and Jack and Michael and Georg's creative personalities!... this is already super special Elder (which equals super special music by anybody...), it's almost impossible to perceive anything even more terrific...then again, this is Elder wr're talking about; a band, a musical collective that exists to exceed even the highest of expectations!
Then you must listen to “A Flourishing Fall in a Grain of Sand” by Humanotone ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cHo-Fl2xwig.html IMO they’re the ones who are covering that type of crushing stoner sounds mixed with progressive structures. Give it a chance my friend, you’ll not regret.
F Yes! Christmas comes early! The next phase of Elder's evolution is upon us, bringing the epic of the heavens to us lucky fans... can't wait for the full album!
Just stumbled across this band. Having listened and seen Ozric Tentacles, Hawkwind and later versions of Gong from the early eighties it was a pleasant surprise to hear a band with lots of these influences and many others and with there own personalities in the music. Didn’t think I would here another band that would blow me away like this ! Well done guys 👏👍🙏
The vocal melodies are becoming more interesting throughout the years! I also like the fast arpeggios on the lead guitars, fits nicely. On the other side, I wouldn't miss the mellotron, if it wasn't there. Love the band, saw them live, and bothered Nick with my pseudo-philosophical questions at the merch stand. lol.
This is a great jam that has been on repeat all day. Getting 80s vibes for sure and love the middle session with those keys which is eargasm heaven overall great music cant wait for album release and those vocals 💥
I listen to Omen - my fav song is Halcyon - I have to look up the word...its a bird with a story that goes with it...I look out my window and see a bird pirched win a branch directly in from of me....he seems to be looking at me - I get out of may seat and walk through my front door - I have to investigate this strange bird staring at me...I walk to the edge of the canal - only about 20 feet from the bird - I look down at my feet and see in front of me - a blue and black and green feather - clearly from this bird. About a year ago a baby Kingfisher had knocked its head flying into one of our huge picture windows - We didnt know how to care for it so the wife of a friend agreed to nurse it back to health. Which she did, the bird flew away after about a month in her care. A Halcyon brings 5 days of peach and calm...at the price of losing the love of her life to a tempest at sea.
I'm struggling with Nietzche's Eternal Return idea - just don't get it....Suddenly, this new Elder song is out today - is Elder dealing with the same mysterious explanation for Omens (synchronicities)? Thank you Elder for synchronizing your releases with my efforts now to record and understand my life before I die. Wont be long...I'm 70 with heart disease...This is going to be fun....
As if I could not be more stoked for the new album. This RIPS. The musicianship, the way the band plays together, the power of the music itself...this is why I love Elder.
We encounter extraordinary stuff when we are meant to... So glad you are now a member of the Elder fan club; if you haven't already, please check out literally everything they've ever done, these guys are AMAZING writers/composers/avatars
I'm so happy you guys went off of the sensibilities of OMENS, and took it up a notch. I love everything from reflections and before that, and a lot of people do too, but I find OMENS soundscapes more warming, personal, closer to life and enduring. Thank you guys! Love from the 🇵🇭
Yeah, love this sound too! It's interesting... they're the kind of band who has a cool cycle and rhythm to their sonic evolution; two stoner rock albums, then two beautifully un-categorizable heavy rock gems, then two even more expansive and epic albums (including the one soon to be released, Innate Passage); each time, the second album in each cycle is a refinement and improvement on the first, even when you think they've achieved something beyond what's possible. Makes me almost salivate thinking about what's next...
Just incredible. Yet another sonic pilgrimage to somewhere you recognize yet are baffled by. Really lovely and tasteful Mellotron washes here and there too. What a band.
Those are my 3 favorite albums too but The Gold and Silver sessions is really damn good too you should listen to Illusory Motion that song just gets you groovin
Discovered Elder last year, when i listened to this Masterpiece. They're easily in my top 5 all favourite bands rn. This is what music needs right now, substance, essence, soul.
In celebration of their new albums pending release I just thought for fun we could post our ten favorite Elder songs 1.Thousand Hands 2.Legend 3.Halcyon 4.Blind 5.Spirit at Aphelion 6. Lore 7. Omens 8. Staving off the Truth 9. In Procession 10. Illusory Motion
Without any hesitation my number one spot goes to: Compendium. Just saw them last Sunday on their European tour with Pallbearer. I made the trip from Belgium to the Netherlands and damn they started with this song. What a BANGER. My second one would definitely be Sanctuary...
Still processing this, but so far it sounds like another quantum leap forward for the Most Interesting Band in Decades ... hoping for tour info 🙏 I mean, does anyone tie a sprawling composition together with a neat little bow on it like Nick DiSalvo? EVERY time? 🤯 Not that I know of 🤔 (That said, consider Humanotone for yr opening act, dudes 😉)
Absolutely brilliant album. Amazing songs. Amazing songwriting and musicianship. The bass on this song. LITERALLY the best I’ve ever heard. GODSPEED, Elder. We are paying attention. You are the cream of the crop.
Yeah, Jack's bass is seriously Amazing on this song! Kinda like a modern-day Chris Squire, but totally his own thang. He and Georg are an amazing rhythm section.
The progressions, the composition, unmistakably Elder. Another album that will get daily play in car.. then weekly.. then biweekly, then maybe a little bit less. But will never go away. Will always return. Still enjoy the other ones very very often. Fuck yes.
Pete Pardo from Sea of Tranquility caused me to come check this out. So glad I did! Beautiful music and I found another great band to explore the discography:)
Facing the unknown Thoughts converge in one The desperation knell resounding Ringing from above Catharsis and decay in a circle Hand in hand are hewn Given to embrace eternal Stigma of past preserving Enigma crystallized Sight dissolving all around us Become what we despise Standing in the dark awaiting light Never to appear Burning out the truth inside us Lapsing into fear What we know Inside ourselves Supersedes The thought of else What we feel Inside ourselves Flowing out Returning endless
After listening to it for a while, I think it's better than I thought after the first listen... but I was hoping, that this album would be much heavier than the previous ones... :) ... but otherwise it's great ... I'm Hyped! ... :)
