Will Bethesda pull off the impossible with Elder Scrolls 6? When do you think it will release?

Honestly, I just want the same level of rpg/gameplay/story as Skyrim, I’m not asking for more I just want to feel as I felt when I played TES 5 for the first time…

I really want it to be a deep RPG. I hope they don't focus on size but rather character choices and fleshed out interactions with NPC's. I want a living, breathing world that I can really interact with.

Starfield is absolutely soulless. They've already implemented paid mods in skyrim, now they'll do it in starfield, FO4, and TES6. They are completely shameless about it and I'm tired of their greed. I'm boycotting Bethesda.

You're absolutely right about skyrim. I have owned it on multiple platforms and played many, many new starts and I have yet to stick to the main quest purely without getting side tracked in exploring and missions. It's an incredible game and only feels limited in what the player can do (climbing, dodging etc) compared to newer games.

Played Skyrim through recently and the cracks really start to show all these years later. I let quite a lot slide back in 2011, the writing especially.

They should've swapped the release order of Starfield and ES6. People will play ES6 on repeat for a decade while Starfield will only get a few play throughs in that time frame.

Man time flies and I’m tired of waiting for TES6. I remember playing oblivion on xbox360 and I was only 7, played Skyrim when I was 12 and haven’t played a Bethesda game since. I’m now 25 years old…

I know there is some doubt after Starfield. Although we need to remember that Bethesda are veterans when it comes to Elder Scrolls games. Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim have all been massively successful and for good reason. Hopefully Bethesda has learned from Starfield that procedurally generated worlds lack the heart and soul of handcrafted, densely detailed worlds that have made the Elder Scrolls games so replayable.

I think it will release in 2028, which would be 17 years after ESV (isn't that fucking wild). They are taking so long that Skyrim Grandma probably won't be around to play it.

At this point im more excited for Monsieur Duponds reaction to this games release, than for the game itself

back in 2016 i wrote a wild guess estimation on a sticky note that ES6 will come out in 2028. if that comes to be true then i’ll call myself a prophet

With this being the last game for Todd Howard I really hope he’s aiming to go out with a bang. Elder Scrolls is also the bread and butter for Bethesda. Between these two things I’m really hoping it’ll be a great game and not like recent Bethesda games

I think it would be cool if your factions could help you in the main quest. Not just taking a single follower, like Lydia, to fight a boss, but rather taking the Companions or the trainers from the College of Winterhold to fight Miraak or Alduin

Skyrim was elite, i hope this goes even further than it .

I’m keeping my expectations in check for this one, and just waiting to see how Bethesda handles it before I start getting hyped. Though, I will say that I’m very excited to see TES with modern graphics.

I don't want to discuss the reason why Jeremy Soule wasn't asked to do ES6, but it's a massive bummer. It won't have the same magic.

The map will be one large map so yes it needs to be bigger than skyrim in map size Im talking 2-4 times larger. Skyrim was on the xbox 360 so the map had to be condensed...

Hammerfell, High Rock and i think expansions to summerset isle, cyrodiil and maybe skyrim.

I hope they support Mod Creators more in this new Elder Scroll game.

They need to move towards ROLE PLAYING like allowing you to seamlessly create any playstyle and character you want…and ignore the outdated “rpg” videogame tropes like hp numbers jumping out of enemies and finding 50 weapons that are identical but all have different stats. ES6 needs to be truly immersive and compelling.

Judging by the most recent releases, I don't think Bethesda should count on pre-launch orders for revenue. I know I will definitely be waiting 3 -12 months after the release date before I trust an actual purchase.

If TES6 is going to take place in Hammerfell, then I really hope we're going to be able to encounter and fight dunerippers and giant scorpions. And I hope they make it easy to switch between different weapons, with hot-keys. I also kinda hope some other game developer buys the right to the elder scrolls. I ADORE TES lore, but I don't much care for Bethesda TBH...

I honestly don't know what year to say The Elder Scrolls 6 will release but i know when Fallout 5 will release that year will be 2287 the year that Fallout 4 takes place in although considering how things are in the world now the whole world might become a real nuclear wasteland before the release of The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5

This turned out to be longer than I thought but if you make it to the bottom please reply I wanna hear what others think would make a good es game I think a good way for the elder scrolls 6 game could be successful is by having better writing and better combat and for god sake a seamless and open world design without a loading screens (but that’s asking for the impossible so open cities and maybe like a bandit camps and small POI ).I’ll start with I’m not a story writer nor will I claim that I am but I think TES should get away from the power fantasy chosen one hero of all hero’s way of writing and adopt something like a rags to riches or the nobody to somebody type story (something similar to fallout) as I think it would make TES world interaction feel miles better and give the player more validity to be an assassin of the db or a master thief who can steal the sword off a guard captain in broad daylight etc. in short I don’t want to be the Dragonborn, war hero ,vampire slayer,dark brotherhood leader ,archmage thieves guild leader and thane of whiterun . I feel one could write a faction story while not making you the pinnacle of authority in the faction Combat and other stuff Bethesda can no longer get away there mindless ___insert weapon here___ baseball ice style of combat and sidestepping archers I’m not saying I need (or want )dark souls level combat but at least something more modern your standard light and heavy attacks a block and dodge and different attack animations for each weapon type (hopefully more than Skyrim) and ai that can match that flow of combat but that wraps up what I think would bring elder scrolls to a top contender for rpg games This is more wishlist stuff I would like to be able to hit with staves and cast with them please let this be a thing and I also want a modular blacksmithing thing something like ship building but with weapons like you could change blade length and type guards and grip material type add adornments or enchantments I just think this would be dope .poison that stays on weapons for a timed duration and not just a hit (this just doesn’t make sense to me ) food ingredients that don’t heal much like 5health but cooked food can heal like 50 to like 200 health And modular clothing and armor you like head top bottom feet hands over coats and armor that can be worn over all of that just don’t do it like how they did clothing options in starfield anything is better than that the character customizations ok in starfield but it did feel quite limited in how far you could change the face base if there something deeper would be awesome but I think that’s about all

I am very anxious regarding the Elderscrolls 6... on one side Bethesda can create sth that would bring tham back to the top of gaming. Createing a living world where choice matters and affects whats happening is Key... I have played starfield but I never fell in love with it. quite the contrary actually. So I hope they learn from their mistakes and give us the Elderscrolls game we all deserve XD

Skyrim was released on 11.11.11 and to wait for the next release until 2026 or later is very disappointing. Almost seems like they'll be just in time for the WEF's 2030 AGENDA if we don't go to war first.

To be honest, i would also like to see Remakes of the first or the second game, i havent played them at all and i also dont think that i will play such old games. Morrowind is the maximum i can go for XD

I just hope there is life to the game compared to Starfield. We want each dungeon to be different. Each quest to have it’s own lore and consequences. The old way of doing things is no longer good enough anymore because games have improved so much over the years, that it made Starfield look severely outdated. I hope they learn from the criticism fans are giving them and improve on it throughout their future games.

Hope Bethesda's developers listen to the feedback online and not just the positives but also the negative feedback so that they don't end up making Elder Scrolls 6 as big and empty/boring as Starfield ended up being.

Bethesda doesnt need to remind us why we enjoyed their games, we havent forgotten. Fallout 76 and Shallowfield wasnt our fault. They need to remember how to make the games we loved.

I’m totally afraid of what Elder scrolls 6 turns out to be. Another Starfield? Do they still have the same group of people that gave Skyrim so much life, so much detail, and yes handcrafted. Here is the quandary Bethesda walled themselves into. A twenty plus years old game cash cow has given the playing community a game we have become so intimate, deeply imbedded with Skyrim; we will know any short cuts, Or a phoned in RPG, cost cutting pile; WE WILL KNOW! You are so right. Player built homes. I walked as you said a short ways from my newly built home and stumble on a huge dungeon with other found points of interest along the way.

if Bethesda doesn't learn from its modders, how to make interesting companions & interactions (incl. romance) & good looking gear sets,.. than maybe games like BG3, Cyberpunk & Stellar Blade will finally convince them! .... that aside, Starfield was a victim of Xbox forcing Starfields vision on to a hardware, that couldn't fulfill it (and alienated Bethesda devs in the process)

Bethesda needs more voice actors. A lot of the same voices are heard through essential characters and the guards but they at least understandable.

I’m not even going to buy es6. I’m more hyped for the free Quest mods like Glenmoril, Apotheosis, Beyond project etc.

Don't care about ES6. ESV still remains undefeated because of the mods. We learn that from how they released Starfield. ESV mods were WAAY more innovative than Starfield and these mods were running on an obsolete game engine. Starfield, while similar game engine, they have a much larger capacity.

Taking 15 years to release the next game in the series is trash.

Elder Scrolls 6 = 2026. Fallout 5 = 2029 I might live to see the next 2 of these games and thats it with the releases taking decades now.

Starfield has RPG mechanics? Is this a DLC I've not heard about?

Here's the thing. At the VERY least, TES6 has something that Starfield won't, even before development starts. Starfield showed the weakness of modern Bethesda, which is by far and large (at least imho) their weakness in creative and engaging writing to hold the player's attention. Starfield suffering from modern Bethesda's lack of writing skill was glaringly obvious, and unlike TES or Fallout, didn't have an entire franchise and history to fall back on to flesh out the world. Bethesda, known for world building, *failed* at building a compelling world with Starfield. TES 6 at the very least can fall back on what came before, so that players are engaged in that familiar world and history of Tamriel. Now I'm not saying that's enough to make a new game, far from it, but at the very least it starts TES 6 off WITHOUT a handicap, the massive handicap that Starfield had.

I’m scared for this game….Skyrim holds a special place in a lot of players’ hearts. After Starfield and the same old bs from Todd I just don’t have anymore hope that this will even be close to what Skyrim was…
