Obsidian Rae thanks to kevin you dont have to wonder anymore you can look at the thumbnail name it say the elderscrolls morrowind but its I forgot what year it was
"Ninetoes..." "Yes, I am Ninetoes." "Ninetoes..." "Yes, I am Ninetoes." "Ninetoes..." "Yes, I am Ninetoes." "Ninetoes..." "Yes, I am Ninetoes." "Ninetoes..." "Yes, I am Ninetoes." * target confirmed *
Morrowind got me into gaming. It blew my mind when i first played it. It's so adorably goofy looking at it now, especially with Kevin at the helm. Thanks for the nostalgia Kev. Love your work.
Coming in three years late as a retro-gaming fan and I have to say the first time I got to the Ghostfence I remember thinking “this had to be so cool when it was new.” The game hasn’t aged well but they did so much with it and I really appreciate it, even 20 years later. One of these days I’ll even finish it.
Oh, hell yeah! I used to always leave a potion donation at the shrine, which gives you Levitation for A WHOLE HOUR. Then you can just fly around all the towers and levels - WAY easier. Oh, and the run speed, Kevin? That increases as your Athleticism skill goes up. So you start off slow, but then the more walking around in-game you do, the more that skill goes up and the faster you can actually go.
@@Maerahn 1. a 1 sec spell of 100% magic resistance and boots of blinding speed. 2. a constant effect levitate ring (even if its low power it will still be pretty fast with any speed boosting buff). now you can constantly fly like any Telvanni should. Also end game you truly can feel like a god jumping whole mountains, stand in lava, or just stand near vivek and let him kill himself.
Early-game accuracy in Morrowind is horrible. It's like the character is drunk and blindfolded at the same time, especially if you use a weapon that isn't in your class.
To be fair the hit detection and accuracy was awful. I remember playing Oblivion for the first time after Morrowind and going, “oh my god! I can hit things!”
Big Mac Muncher Yeah that was definitely one of the worst aspects of Morrowind and one that had the potential to turn a lot of players away, thankfully though it does get better later in the game
@@deskita One of the reasons when oblivion was first shown with actual arrows that hit enemies and swords that *Gasp!* cut the person your attacking i wept. I love morrowind to death, and understand that the earlier Elder scrolls game were more rpg mechanics than skyrim, but a mod that makes accuracy 100% is a must have for me. Ill deal with everything else Morrowind has, but hearing WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH THWACK all the time is the line.
Day 2 of telling Kevin he's wholesome and while I don't have the money to subscribe to his patreon, I still love supporting him, think he is fantastic and should keep up the amazing work ♡
@@johand3004 Kevin makes multiple jokes about ruining games or being slower than the audience. These people were just saying they finally understand what it's like to be the ones he's referencing. If they legitimatly didn't like him they wpuldnt watch him
I remember using Ralen Hlaalu's house, storing all my items in his body on the floor. Never de-spawned and had infinite capacity, but it must've started rotting after awhile.
You have committed crimes against Skyrim and her people. What do you say in your defense? -Kevin told me to kill. -But I just stole some candy and 2000 coins it's no big deal, also Kevin told me to. -Just arrest Kevin. -GOD TODD HOWARD WILL SMITE YOU! -COUNTRY ROOOOAAAADDDDSSS! -Oyfum -I will just press "~" and BAM you are a sheep now!
Erg Samowzbudnik ...that’s the whole idea of Kevin’s videos? He doesn’t think, he takes action, he doesn’t care if he’s right or wrong, he’s evil, and he doesn’t take his time. This is just a one-off video, not a serious complete playthrough. If you don’t like how he plays games, don’t watch him. Simple.
@@gorgonus you new? that's what Kevin does for most games that he plays just once. If it was a serious playthrough, he'd still troll, and it's hilarious lmao. Fan or not, you guys are so uptight geezuz XD
I'd love to get into Morrowind, but as someone that started with Skyrim, and then moved to Oblivion, it's not easy. Morrowind is a tad dated. I'm also stuck with vanilla, so no mods to modernize it a bit. Like, I'm all for older games. I'll still play NES games or even Atari 2600 games for fun. But there's something about the like, Morrowind era of games where it feels super janky. It's like right in the middle. like, it's still an older game, but it's at a time where they were trying to do way more than they used to, but didn't know how yet. Any tips for not getting irritated and quitting to play a less dated game?
@@BasicPrinciplesGTA Damn, i thought you smoke skooma. But I guess me and my outlander ass ain't from the -hood- Ashland's, so I'm not the one to talk.
That'd be perfect for Kevin cause he doesn't seem to intend to be any good at it, just dick around. If he wanted to try, I'd tell him to do the Warrior if he's playing redguard so he can get better attack damage OR the Ritual to heal at least once a day right off the bat.
Kevin, when you steal something in the tutorial, drop it immediately and wait for the guard to talk to you. Pick it up again and the item is yours. Also if you fess up to having the ring, you can do a quest to steal it later if you go into the general store in town and go upstairs.
@@pacmanincargopants it started for me with oblivion but only because my tutor had a son that loved gaming and I wanted to buy it but couldn't afford a copy
This was my favorite game as a kid, I've beaten it twice, as well as all the quest lines and dlc. The movement speed gets faster as your skills increase, it's honestly ridiculous how op your character can get later in the game
@@DarknessLPs Step 1: Go to your profile Step 2: Go to the "settings" menu Step 3: Look for the "notifications" tab and press on it. Step 4: Press on "Scheduled digest" and set a specific time to receive notifications. I had the same problem as you until I figured this out. Edit: You wont receive ANY notifications from RU-vid until the chosen time. I have it set to 2 hours before work. If you still need help just let me know.
Vicki Hayden probably because you didn’t understand the probability mechanics. Kevin didn’t get it and I thought it was hilarious to watch him struggle.

Hhh. I've been playing Arena, the one before Daggerfall, and I dread it and Daggerfall. XD just trying to find the way out of the Arena starting area is hell.
When I stopped playing, it was because my last save was my character stuck in a cellar, over encumbered, was on a really low level, and kept getting killed by a cave rat😅
Fun fact: the first character you see, Jiub, moved to Kvatch after this, right before it was sacked by daedra. The next time you see him is as a soul in the soul cairn. Poor dude
9:07 that was my entire morrowind experience. I quit because I thought the game was broken. I never played again when I found out it's normal to hit something once every 100 swings.
Some of these old games were brutal. I remember playing Oblivion for the first time after Skyrim, and thinking how absolutely difficult it was to kill a rat.
You wanna get the run speed? Bunny hops. All the bunny hops to increase your athletics. Hop until your hands fall off and you pass out from exhaustion, and then keep bunny hopping in your sleep.
First time I played this game I was 9 and sucked at video games. I also got lost but instead of giving up, I became a homeless vagrant who traveled from town to town looting barrels.
When you give Fargoth the ring, you can go back into Arille's Tradehouse, and up the stairs. There's a Nord there at the top of the stairs who will show you how to find Fargoth's hiding spot. He says he'll take some of what's in there, but you can just keep the money for yourself. You get 300 gold and the ring, along with Fargoth still having maximum disposition with you. Also, Nine Toes isn't the murderer.
This is one of my favourite games ever. The story is absolutely amazing. I remember back in 2004 when I was 4 my dad showing me this game and me sitting on his knee watching him play : ). I have nothing but nostalgia for this game. I can understand if you don't like it though, it's age is showing. P. S House Hlaalu is the best lol
@@bengal4047 I revoke my statement about House Hlaalu. After reading some more Elder Scrolls Lore and stuff, I agree that House Redoran are the best. Hlaalu > Telvanni though. It's a shame because some people in House Hlaalu were nice but there were too few of them.
I honestly like them for the fact that even if you are a vampire, they won't care. I am against the slavery thing as well and will go out of my way to free any slaves in Vvardenfell, even when there are like 20 high level guards watching and doing so will screw me over. However, the Telvanni won't stop me from anything, even going against what they want. Don't worry, I support Twin Lamps the most
Kevin you can't steal stuff like that in the tutorial, it gets taken from your inventory. What you gotta do is pick it up then IMMEDIATELY open your inventory and drop it; once you do this the stuff is at home base and it's not stealing when you pick it up after they bust you.
It reminds me of how I tried to play Morrowind. I died, died, died, got hopelessly lost, and realized that "Skyrim with quest marks (ones over the items and NPCs, not ones on the map) off and interface almost transparent" is as hardcore as I can go when it comes to navigation in video games.
Thankyou for the nostalgia Kevin. I remember coming home from primary school everyday to jump on my shitty compaq laptop to play morrowind. Was such an adventure..my first real rpg experience - the music still gives me chills! A shame Bethesda will never be able to match this game again
Day 2 of thanking Kevin for working so hard to upload 10+ minute gaming videos daily and making thousands of people's days by being very funny and wholesome
I've been replaying this myself and dear god I forgot how hard it was. Although it does have one of the funniest exploits in the world. Step 1: Obtain a spell with the effect "Drain Skill" Step 2: Go to the Mages guild and find someone who can make a custom spell. Step 3: Create a spell with the effect Drain Sill 100 on self for 1 second. Step 4: Find a trainer in that skill. You cast the Drain spell, while under it's effects you talk to the person and pay to train up (1 gold to reach Skill Level 1) which when the spell ends restores it to its original value, plus one.
I played this game so much as a kid, never had a clue what I was doing until I came back as an adult... still didnt have a clue but I did do some main quest stuff that time around
Something I learned about morrowind, you won't always hit an enemy, even if you just hit them head on. It's got a system like D&D or something, where the game basically rolls a number and you hit if the number is high enough, or miss if the number is low enough. It's something like that.
*Citizen: We have a killer on the loose!* *Kevin: **_This looks like a job for be!_* *Kevin: Well... Now it looks like they have **_TWO killers on the loose._*
In the options, you can enable 'Always use best attack' or something similar so you don't have to manually do combos. It means you'll do more damage and hit more.
Morrowind is my favourite game of all time. I played it when I didn't have internet when I was younger for 2 years straight. I have almost 20,000 hours in game, and I'll never stop loving this game.
ah, yes, this was the "gaming crossroads" for me, it was either _morrowind_ or _neverwinter nights_ ... and the game shop was out of morrowind (neverwinter nights is a good game, too... if you like dragon age or pretty much anything D&D, like baldur's gate, or icewind dale - feelin' old, yet?... it's bioware before they were shit... like, star wars "kotor" good, or Jade Empire or whatever... even the music is by Jeremy Soule, the music he makes is so good... like, the elder scrolls music, morrowind onwards, is by jeremy soule, right, so is NWN and SW Kotor... just a random thought... he also made music for the first three or so, I think, harry potter games, interestingly enough...)... maybe try _Arx Fatalis_ next, you'll definitely get lost (it's a game like Morrowind)
In one of the first missions of the guild of magicians, where they asked me to go to Punabi and to a place I do not remember, one of the indications that the journal put was to follow the road to Molag Mar, when leaving the city, until arriving to Aldhun. I literally made it all the way to Molag Mar whole, and basically in 3 hours of travel I had reached Molag Mar, to realize that everything I had done had been futile. Even so, I did not leave it, but God, it is easy to get lost in this game, although if I am going to lose myself, it comforts me that I will lose myself in the beautiful and eccentric land of Morrowind.
