For anyone complaining about the songs having the same formula….do you know how hard it it to keep writing these metal dance monsters? To come up with a great tune once is hard, to keep coming up with a great tune song after song…..if only other bands were talented enough to do this we’d be very lucky

the song was originally meant to be on their tekkno album but they couldn't make it happen and decided to wait and release it in summer as a stand-alone single. there definitely is a formula but i've seen musicians break down their songs and they're actually more complex than you'd think, the complexity just gets buried under all the party fun. every choice they make is purposeful and thought out. besides, how many bands out there have had the same formula for decades and are still good? EC found the style they are great at and people love and enjoy and i couldn't be happier.

Everyone band has a formula. It’s good to have a distinct sound. Lorna Shore has a formula Slayer has a formula Sleep Token has a formula Metalcore/Deathcore are very formulaic and it’s fine. Intro, heavy part, clean chorus, heavy part, clean chorus, breakdown, done. Every modern day metal track

i was lucky enough to be right near the front for their set at Download Festival and i can’t lie… it was one of the best shows i have ever been to (and i’ve seen hundreds of bands). it was just pure joy and awesomeness from even before they started during their crew setup to the very end.

Linkin Park's first two albums were the epitome of formulaic for most of their songs, but that doesn't mean they were bad. I think a band generating their own flow and formula is actually a healthy thing so long as they they can continue to innovate and keep it interesting.

Legs and feet I don’t think are Kevin’s. In the behind the scenes footage it looks like they used a woman in the bed (though the tattoos could be Kevin’s and maybe they painted them on her feet?) and then they put Kevin in her place for his part. I love Electric Callboy. A lot of it is a great mix Of more poppy electronic and metalcore but their music does vary on what song you’re listening to. They’re really talented musicians and I’m so happy to get to listen to them!

Most bands have a consistent formula and sound that they refine over time, and Electric Callboy is no exception. That's how bands build followings to begin with. Even more progressive and experimental bands tend to have common threads throughout their music that helps form the basis of their identity as a group. It's kind of a silly thing to complain about. I think what makes Electric Callboy such an easy target for those complaints is the fact that they've released so much music in such a short time, and they've gotten massive amounts of attention for it. Since Hypa Hypa, they've had nearly a dozen videos blow up like that, and that's kind of insane for a three year period. They're never not in the conversation. It's still silly to complain about, but kind of expected.

I've seen them live in Paris in April + at Hellfest 2023 and it was ME(N)TAL !! Nico and Kevin are absolutely underrated, especially Nico that has the exact same high voice live than in a CD or radio version. Recently, only Motionless in White, The Amity Affliction and Hollywood Undead (yeah surprising) have blasted me with their "real" voices. Electric Callboy found or invented their own style and crowd was always 100% crazy during their show. Just look at We got the Moves video and you will understand what I mean

It was frenetically good!!! I don't know when they had time for it? They recently finished their European tour. They are currently performing at summer festivals. Nico recently released a track with Samurai Pizza Cat (not bad either) and then made everyone's hearts skip a beat with Kalle, a retro style song called Meine Buffalos. In the meantime, the guitarist also wrote the hit song "Rentnersong" for Kalle, and a video was shot for both. I admire them and love their always cheerful and positive attitude!!! I hope they will "entertain" us for a long time and not burn out!!!

Most songs follow a pattern... Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Final Chorus (maybe slightly changed), Outtro. EC just adds in Screamo verses too. Always confuses me when people have a problem with the order of a song. If it sounds good - then dig it.

Are you going to see them when they're in Oz again? I am in Melbourne & I missed out on the forum so I was sad but planning to try to find tix closer to the day. But I checked & they're now playing in the same venue Jane's Addiction & Smashing Pumpkins played (and Amyl & the Sniffers- I love them) so it will be good to dance about cos that is a great venue to space out a bit, even when sold out

People's pure aversion to bands having a formula and not constantly changing their sound is weird. Experimentation is cool, it helps advance music as a whole, but I don't understand why people can't just go listen to other bands if they're tired of a specific sound. If the formula works, why would you stop? It's not like they're putting out conveyor belt songs like they just came of the xerox, thats just their style.
