I watched a lot of reactions to that song, you have to be German or at least know German and be somewhat familiar with the German Schlager scene to actually get what a meme this is. All these people think Schlager is just german pop music, it's not. Schlager is a genre which is generally made fun of as being music for either drunk people, old people or well, let's just say rather simple minded people from rural areas. (And I would dare to say the stereotype is somewhat true.) The references to Schlager artists, Michael Wendler in particular, in the video, in the way the melody and the chord structure work and even in the lyrics are just hilarious. The first part literally sounds like the stereotypical, generic Schlager Song your grandma would listen to.

Saw them live this friday when the song premiered. They made the crowd dance discofox in the pit to this 😂😂😂

I read a comment that said it's maybe a reaction of being rejected from ESC which was justified with that their music wouldn't ne suitable for radio. So they chose the worst radio suitable genre and destroyed it in the end. 😂 Even the first half of the video is making fun of Schlager. As Schlager usually contains kitschy lyrics, they completely changed that with mean lyrics. All this together is genius. But unfortunately the song won't make it to my playlist 'cause for me (personally) Schlager is hell on earth! 😄

just to let you know (and probably why they put the "schlager warning" in the beginning): schlager in germany is widely considered "old people's music"... when my grandma listens to music its ONLY schlager and she cranks up the volume to 11 and starts singing along so my first reaction to that music vid was "oh god please no schlager"

As a german person it is sooooo funny to watch all the reaction videos from non-german youtubers! The first part of the video is a homage to Germany's most hated Schlager Icon called Michael Wendler. He has a song called "Egal" ( engl. whatever) and it went viral in Germany and everyone is making fun of it - also the Callboys now! Check it out if you want some context. It is just hilarious! Also Mia-Julia is a Schlager Icon especially on the spanish island Mallorca. Mallorca is full of germans and there is a street called "Schinkenstrasse" (bacon street) and an establishement on it with the name "Bierkönig" (beer king) where all these Schlager Icons sing and throw a big party. Hope I could give you some understanding of this brilliant typical german music video!
