Electric car future? | this hybrid tractor has the answer to mobility problems 

I bought one and modified it with an old lawnmower engine and two racks on back; one for the gas can and one for the beer cooler. The weight in back facilitates popping wheelies, and I can ride for hours and not run out of beer.

A trailer on the back you can carry the gang home from the local after a few drinks

You can get a trailor with 2 seats on it to make it a 4 seater with on extra on the kart if the driver isn't to big.

Perhaps you can review some of the new and upcoming e-velomobiles? Here are a few: BioHybrid, Iris e-Trike, Podbike, Podride, Drycycle, Begorett, CityQ I think these types of vehicles will become quite cheap over time and will be the default mode of transport, unless driverless taxis become super-cheap.

Excellent video. Not many reviews or in-depth videoes from users out there sadly. Would you consider making a follow up video now that you've had it for a while longer? I'm particularly interested in the battery life and how much it actually assists as opposed to using just muscle power, especially on an incline.

I have a Zoom Stryder EX electric scooter to commute 6 miles from work on. I'm afraid the UK is not as accommodating to PLEVs on roads. I'd love to have a blast on this though. Love the enthusiasm for the hybrids!

Bob, the 1970's called and they want their failed ideas back. :) The problem is that that style of vehicle simply isn't practical *for what people will accept as transport*. Another problem is that electric vehicles simply will *not* be able to overcome the range/charge rate problem they currently have - barring some unlikely development in battery tech, that is. If people and societies genuinely want to move away from fossil fuels for vehicles then the only viable technology we have at the moment is hydrogen. The *only* limitation on hydrogen vehicle uptake is the support infrastructure. But, as was demonstrated in the 1970's with the wide & rapid adoption in several countries of LPG/CNG alternatives, infrastructure for hydrogen can be put in place very quickly - a matter of ~5 years if wanted - far more quickly than what is needed for an electric vehicle support infrastructure.

Great video. Is it practical to drive without any assistance from the motor, or is the Kart too heavy for that? My son is about to outgrow his Berg Buddy - this would make a nice upgrade for both son and dad. ;)

It’s got a two hour usage. Most of the day is a touch longer. I like these, my kid has one. They are heavy and not easy to steal but you can just push it and berg should have considered that the seat can do easily stolen.

C'mon! It's goofy as a Disney Dog! It's slow, heavy and looks like child's toy. Great concept. But lighten it up. Put a 750 or 1000 watt motor in it with more battery power, higher gearing and ferkisakes...put some real disc brakes on the thing. Braking by rubbing a pipe on the tire?? Why not a 2x4 and a nail driven into the side that drags on the ground when you pull it. 😒

Climate does change....hence seasons. The world is NOT a spinning ball. Now here's a question.... Why don't electric vehicles have alternators on them so they are constantly charging themselves. A)... It's not good for business.
