This is answering some of the questions I got on building the Electric Railbike and the Railbike video. Timestamps - 00:00 - Intro 00:25 - Frame/Bike 03:26 - Battery 07:06 - Rail Attachment 10:04 - Filming 11:58 - Narration
your narration of this video was far better than the awful AI narration of the other video. You already have a good voice for youtube, you dont need ai
Frame and swingarm kit would be great to sell so we can source the other stuff locally and customize to our needs - looks like a very solid frame and design
Another vote for this as well. Sourcing the battery, controller, hub motors, brakes, etc. are all relatively trivial now, but a good frame is hard to find. I'd buy this frame in a second if it was available on the market.
Great video, I drove PCH along that route many times and always wondered about the train right of way. I appreciate that you took the time to show us the nuts and bolts of your eBike and your logic for it's design. Your drone shots are very professional and adds a lot to the overall video. Thanks.
Excellent build explanation. Your bike design is fantastic. Love the long range version. I know these would sell well, should you decide to start production
Just saw your 120 mile video and came here. Got to say you’ve done a stellar job with the egineering of the ebike and the development of the rail system. Really enjoyed everything. I now have to find put where your route was as I want to trail run parts of them!!
So, in a video, you've sold me on getting a drone, finally buying a dslr, and buying an ebike. Impressive. I've never really understood why people got them until now.
Big thanks for the insights. Perhaps I can suggest a rear view reversing camera feeding a small screen on the handlebars, that way you dont need mirrors, dont need to look over your shoulder and can still see whats behind you. Can always power it with a 12v step downboard from your main battery array 🙂 Helps of the saftey and general awareness front. Keep up the great work!
Oh man, Eleven Labs have definitely surpassed the uncanny valley. I watched that whole thing and just didn't notice....or was too taken aback by the visuals to really focus on any narration inconsistencies. It was the first time watching you and I frankly am surprised you're not a 20 something kid who built some cool stuff for a youthful adventure :D.......... Bravo ! :)
Extremely Impressed! I have always wanted to do this, and exactly what you are doing because railroads are a huge interest to me! Keep making vids and I think you will go far with your ideas and more! This is one of the best setups I have seen!
Excellent video's and build explanation, new subscriber here. I bought a Trek bike that was converted to an e-bike. It has a 1000W rear hub motor with a 48 watt controller and 14 AH battery. I disconnected the speed limiter wire, and that thing will get me up to 30mph (flat ground) with a range of around 40 miles. Your bike is the most bad ass bike I've seen and could only wish.
Just got recommended this channel and am amazed by the quality and content. Thanks so much for the FAQ, really great work. I was interested about the AI voice, it is crazy how close to real it has come.
Watched the rail video: Loved it, and came to the channel looking for this. Cracking couple of videos, mate. Well done. I didn't even pick the AI voiceover and got confused as hell at the sound of your voice on this one. 😀 Wouldn't worry too much about it.
Very interesting thanks! I just checked the other video again. I prefer your natural voice from this video! Sounds great. Also what beach is that? I grew up in the Santa Cruz mountains and I would love to take my ebike to the coast!
That's funny I didn't even notice the narrator was synthesized it sounded great to me! The first thing I wondered in this video was wait why does he sound different? 😆
I have a Jackal electric bicycle from Thunderstruck motors. Would love to convert mine. Its original design is very open to conversion like yours. I would not need any of the rail bike capability. But the rest is ;right up my alley. Would love to talk about this further!
The ebike track ride was the 1st video of yours I had seen. I had no idea it was an AI voice and thought u were younger until I saw a face shot. I thought the voice was perfect and shared the video with a lot of friends. Very fun video!
Thank you so much for sharing specs on the bike! I love the in-depth design process. Very cool that you're testing out new models/iterations of it. How much does the smaller 2.0 version weigh?
id I'd be interested in buying the frame or a frame like that without the running gear just the frame fork and rear shocks no wheel or breaks or handel bars i like the look for this frame Lots of space and it looks strong I've got ebike running gear controllers and batteries
Buddy I am from India, impressed with your building skills, and floored by the robustness of the EBike. Would like to get one for me, how can we work that out? Please let me know.
I love the longboard wheel. No need to reinvent the wheel, pun intended. I do have another question about the rail attachment. Since the rear arm is mounted on one side, doesn't it affect the center of gravity so much it's harder to keep the bike balanced?
interested i really like your frame design alot of thought went into this unlike most others you have the battery low in the frame making it low center of gravity very responsive it just stinks of performance well done by chance would you consider building another frame or even maybe you still have the paper template to share lol
Would like to know your prices on the bikes and if there are any restrictions on exporting the higher end motors to europe. You are a excellent engineer and film maker. ❤
🎬🏆🎥Outstanding concept, engineering, production quality, and execution. Ever make an electric camper bike that I could send folks out on the vast Rails-to-Trails network?🧐🤠🤙🏽
Really nice work. Greta frame build. I'm also constructing something simmular. Would You be so kind to instruct me how to connect pedals to a rear hub motor?
Im curious is there anyway to self charge a dual battery set up....riding on one and charging the other with a power source for continuous riding........really really loved your videos
Well done! My question I build an electric bike with similar motor and bicycle brakes, and I completely not satisfied of the bicycle brake performance on this much weight, Could you please share some your brake experience?
Any consideration for adding a front regenerative hub, to capture forward inertial motion and implement self charging. Why that feature isn’t on all electric vehicles is astounding IMO. Great job.
Yeah I always wondered why consumer market was satisfied with just hard braking regenerative charging. Remember bicycle generator lights ? No reason a separate hub dedicated to charging one half pack while you use another. And that’s the glaring point. Why this free ranging concept to electric cars was not implemented.
@@truthmirage Regenerative breaking on lighter vehicles traveling at low speeds (like an ebike) typically only extends range by about 5%... whereas using a mid-drive motor with good gearing can extend range by 15% compared with a direct drive hub motor. So the trade-offs aren't worth it in most cases. If a direct-drive hub motor was chosen for other reasons, like in this video, then you might as well add regenerative breaking.
I am curious what you would charge to make one for a customer like the one you took on your 120 mile rail journey less the front and rear rail attachment ?
