I'm just stoked I called this when you first talked about a "huge" video happening a couple weeks ago. The Rimac is just nuts. Def. priced out past the large majority, but for those that have the funds, it's gonna be amazing!
Yeah, but it's a 7% difference in 1/4 mile time for a 95% price difference to the Tesla Model S Plaid. Not sure the cost to performance ratio is worth it unless someone has money to burn.

You have to love the Rimac as a company and collective also! They have almost impossible, unbelievable technology and at the same time they love sharing this phenomenal car, I am sure the discount part was no joke and was also from the heart.) You have to love the atmosphere they have in Rimac ! Starting from the boss to the test drivers and so on. Would be great to work there for sure :))) I am very happy I am witnessing a transition era in automobiles, a moment of innovation and creation!
Yeah EV's are really coming into prominence now. Rimac has done a great job showcasing the performance that is possible and the styling of the car is fantastic. It even wears a tie as a nod to it's Croatian roots. I've been to the drags and watched 10s passes from some very powerful cars built to drag race. Mid 8s is insane on a production car.
I said it when Rimac teamed up with Carwow and I'll say it again: these guys are MASTERS at understanding their audience. Million dollar ad campaign? Hell no, team up with the best RU-vidrs out there. Really well done Brooks, this shows that you're at the very top of what you do. And what a car!

Expectations for roaster 2 now. 250,000 car beat 2 million car sounds great. Hmm but 150,000 plaid s beat 3m Bugatti is insane as well. Ice car age is gone. I miss my stick shift like a knight miss his house.
Im so proud to be from the same country as Mate Rimac, he's actually like 10min away from my house. My friend works for him. What he does with the cars he made, its just unbelivable.

Can we appreciate how chill and transparent Rimac are? It’s a 2.5 mil car and they probably know that we won’t see them on the streets so they let top RU-vidrs try it out for us. And could we stop the hate and just appreciate how incredible the future is? I have a Plaid ordered myself but I am so happy to see other EV’s absolutely tear it up.
@Vuk Usamljeni The purpose is to demonstrate the edge of this technology. Rimac is a technology company, not a car company. They sell electronic parts. Cars like concept one and nevera are here for show.
Double the HP of Model S Plaid and only .5 to .6 quicker over the quarter. Oh yes. And you can buy like 20x Model S plaid for one of these. Pound for pound. Dollar for dollar. Plaid S is a lot better. For 2000Hp this car’s performance is exceptionally disappointing. Tesla Roadster is going to destroy this Rimac underperformer.

They like to control the "official numbers", so much so that they've been known to blacklist owners who allow their cars to be driven by automotive journalists and/or youtubers. By contrast, Rimac is throwing our favorite youtubers in the seat and letting them show the performance numbers freely. While breaking world records. It's a breath of fresh air.
@@Kalepsis well Rimac is struggling company with very focused ambitious and futuristic oriented owner, he is young willing to push the limits no matter what. Reason why he is doing this is because at home he was for years accused he is releasing paperware - none existing cars. You can probably imagine it to smallest detail, haters are the same everywhere, plus some extra dirty underwear he is constantly being accused for by haters. Regardless of all the haters he has achieved all this from one of the worlds "shi*hole" meaning country not very friendly for innovations or entrepreneurs. That makes his achievement a lot bigger then anyone can imagine. Now everyone can see, cars do exist, they perform and big players have accepted him. Of-coarse he does need to sell and need for world to know his brand delivers - marketing. It brings customers and value to his creation. I can only hope we find few more guys like him with all the great people he gathered within Rimac brand.

@@harsimranbansal5355 its never going to happen, keep dreaming mate, acceleration and top speeds have already been achieved, people now needs a "minivan" that can tow, go overlanding/camping with amazing range, the next tesla modelx is still very far from the reality. The giant mrcedes gls400d is bigger than the tesla modelx and that mercedes has over 800 miles of range.
@@harsimranbansal5355 a diesel minivan/mpv in Europe or Asia have amazing usages and applications, the vw transporter for example is an excellent RV or travelling around the world type of vehicle.

What many people may not know is that the founder of Rimac (Mate Rimac) actually used to drag race himself at 19 years of age. He did so with his very own BMW 3 series EV conversion that set several world records. And now you may see how it makes sense why he is so gracious to setup an event such as this one.
I mean, I can get PS4S tires on my old MB GLK. And I'm actually considering to do so, since they're only marginally more expensive than other premium tires in the dimensions I need. 😂
Mate Rimac is ALL that Tesla fans think Elon is, and then some. He's totally self made and he's NOT a banker at heart. A great engineer, visionair, business man, leader and all around nice guy. Mate is defintely strong with the Light Side.
I agree when it comes to torque and HP fun, sucks for distance and charging times which make it a short commuter and drag racer. Granted, if you can afford this monster, you'll probably have plenty of gas cars too and possibly a diesel or two LOL.

For example, The Tesla Supercharger allowing you to charge your car up to *200 miles in 15 minutes.* When you are on a trip, you need at least one 15 minutes rest pause every 200 miles. What is better to spend that time in a clean silent green environment with pleasant restaurant nearby, just plug in and enjoy your rest. At home or at the office you can just plug in and charge so you *never* have to visit a station on regular days again. There are plenty oppertunities to charge without losing your time. I'm afraid with gasoline you won't have those options.

@AMERICAAA FreeWorld where is that car? The roadster has been announced before the Rimac even existed. Yet now the Rimac is here, fully working ready for production, and we have yet to see a Roadster prototype run the 1/4 mile under 9s.

Before the discussion starts. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid is quick but not quicker. Yes the Tesla Model S Plaid delivers it‘s stats being a 5 seater Sedan. But still the Rimac is the fastest. Both cater to different people, prices and markets. Rimac is a 2.4 Million Dollar Megacar with only 150 being produced and Tesla Model S Plaid is a 140k Sedan in mass production. Yes the Tesla Roadster is coming, but not before 2023 and the stats are yet to see. Competition gives us the best Products. We should be happy to have both Tesla and Rimac.
Agreed, two totally different cars with different purposes of use in mind. What these cars represent is the birth of electric and the death of internal combustion engines.

I really wasn't expecting a Rimac to just drop by Drag times and let him do some passes, but man this was a really amazing surprise, now we know the numbers and maaaaaaaan...... very few things will be even close to this let alone beat it. What’s crazy is that the country that makes rimac is Croatia! When you think supercars you think Germany, Italy, USA, Switzerland, France, England, and Japan are the main powerhouse countries for supercars.

I'm pretty sure there is still a faster 8 on the table once this thing adjusts. When he said 1.4 60ft I thought to myself holy cow this is an 8 second production car ON STREET TIRES!!! That is absurdity and awesomeness all in one! I can't wait to see how many lap records this car breaks with a proper set of track tires! I always knew EV was going to change the game since the prius back in 05'

3600 NM torque is about 2600 ft lbs in case anyone is wondering. I'm in Canada so it's all metric for me/us but one thing i do use is pounds for weight and feet/inches for measuring distance and height. I do know and understand kilometers and kilograms perfectly fine but I don't use it lol, never have . Also 258 MPH is 412+ km/h for you Canadians and most others around the world. Which is absolutely bonkers and amazing lol 😁👍👍

yea i like that too ,,bcse the car is a hypercar beast with 1914 hp ,,and with crazy acceleration even for non road legal cars that is crazy ,,you don"t need so much buttons ,,it"s only distraction you can kill yourself so easy when the car is this fast but i "m older now so i think smarter,,but when i was in my 20s i"m pretty sure i"d pick the one with buttons xD
