Who would dislike such a great video? This was very well coordinated. I love how y'all went through troubleshooting as if you were actually trying to solve it. Great job! I hope to see more videos very much like this one. Subscriber earned.
I didnt thumbs down the video but they described the exact problem I had, got the seat out like I was able to do myself, then didnt show how to fix the problem which is what i needed
I had the same issue with the twist. The cable that was connected to the motor got released. Reconnected the cable and realigned seat without removing the entire seat
2 big guys for one seat! Was not expecting that at all! Wont say how I take the seats out but can definitely tell yah those Infinity, Benz, BMW seats weigh as much as me. Very interesting video and like the part where you have power to the seat on the table.
I just dropped off my 2015 Ford Focus to the garage which has the exact same problem plus a grinding sound, I'm praying that its not too expensive to fix
The problem we're having is the some of the switches work but the seat is stuck in the recline forward position & doesn't go forward or backward. Could it have a bad power switch? It's on a 2010 Chevy traverse LT All wheel drive.
Okay, here's the problem, the drivers seat was pushed up to clean under, there was a toy that jammed it. The toy was removed. The 'sound' still sounded, as the control was pressed to move the seat back. The seat wouldn't move. So, does anyone think it is 1. a rod underneath that may have been bent? 2. something else? or 3. the electric system. Yeah, I already said, the sound sounds for connection to move...just no movement. And everything else works. Auto place wants 800.00, they say to readjust the electric system!! ....I'll just drive with my knees against the dashboard! --- Sure would appreciate any advice.
I have the 2008 g35, with basically the same seat as this, however the seat does not move at all in any direction whatsoever. The heating on it does work however, does anyone have any advice or tips as to where to find a new one? Been looking all over the place and can’t even find a used one. Thanks.
I have a 2007 BMW 335xi twin turbo. The driver's seat stopped working. I changed the fuse and it worked then it stopped working and will not move at all. The motors worked well. What now do I do?
How do the individual seat motors know when they have reached their travel limits. It's obviously not torque, because that brush handle drew too many amps. If it's the number of internal motor revolutions, then why don't new replacement motors need to be set to the current seat position when they are installed?
Did you need to disconnect the battery before unbolting the seat? I need to replace the worm gear on my 2011 Silverado and it has side impact air bags, connected by a pigtail. It doesn't seem like unbolting the seat would effect that, especially if I can disconnect the pigtail 1st, am I wrong?
How do I get a seat motor gear for a 2010 lexus ES350 ? The lexus dealer only sells the whole motor assy for $350.00+ and I could not find it on Rock Auto.
Thanks for information but in my case I think motor is not working , it's not moving at all , it's very difficut for me to drive, because the seat is completely in fornt of the steering wheel... Kindly suggest me some solution ,it's very difficut for me to find the motor at my place.
Central now working , but I put key in then just flashing on dash bord guys. It’s maybe battery ? When am buy a car gay say he buy new baterry,, SO I WANT ASK WHY DASH BORD LIGHTS JUST FLUSHING NO START? I must put battery on charge then car start please lett me know
I put a new relay in, a new door switch, a new motor, checked all fuses. Everything works except forward and back horizontal. No power going to the two wires that go to that seat motor. Power is going into that box under the seat. Now what? Chrysler Pacifica 2004 awd, driver seat.
This is literally what is happening to me and earlier it was fine. I think I am going to have to pay to get it looked at because I don't have the tools or the man power to be picking up a whole seat on my own.

The right side window,my heater, and sound system won’t work so I reached under the right seat to get my water bottle and i accident touched the wires and everything started work until I went on a speed breaker and it just tripped back off.
I have a really strange problem. Powered drivers seat and powered passenger seat. The LIFT, front tilt and back tilt fail to operate on BOTH seats!!! The motors make operating sound when trying to adjust the seats, but NO MOTION from any of FOUR MOTORS? What the heck???? I measure the + and - 12 volts going to the motors as good? What the heck???? And pointer would be appreciated. 2000 Buick Park Avenue
It sure sounds like something is blocking the mechanical functionality. The lift and tilt functionality would share mechanical connectivity so I’d crawl under there with really good light and see what’s blocking motion...
@@diygaragebryangregorytv9834 Thanks for the reply. The worm gears don't even wiggle when power is applied, however the servo sensor and the motor both feel like they are spinning. No overload, no lights dim. The odd thing is it is both lift.motors on both seats. 19 year old car. I'm suspecting the plastic gears in the motors..,
Not sure what vehicle this goes into at all but just FYI - www.gruvenparts.com builds METAL versions of both the worm and spur gears for GM trucks. We can also build them for Ford if thats an issue. Dont replace with more plastic gears in the seats you need metal. Metal Worm and Metal Spur, not just metal spur. BOTH gears need to be proper gear brass. Check out www.GruvenParts.com for metal gears for the seats. They also do lumbar support gears made of metal.
You two need to shut the hell up when moving the chair so the viewers can hear what the motor sounds like when it’s wrong so they can compare and see if it matches what’s wrong with theirs!
