Gave this video a thumbs down for failing to identify the Rock Auto part description or any idea as to how to find it. Great video but missing the most important part. Just list it in the description to give viewers a starting point on how to find it.
A $4 part from Rock Auto, but the dealership would charge $250 an hour for labor, and would've charged for at least 2 hours work (and rightly so). The entire job would be at least $600 or more with tax included.
On my 2003 Accord the driveshaft housing is broke on both ends but the fore/aft adjustment still works, the seat just has about 1/2 play in it.Have you ever replaced that connector shaft?
I have a 2017 chevy trax and I haven't been able to remove the driver's seat to fix a problem like this, the right side of the seat does not move, any ideas? Thanks, Mike
I just had this happen to my 2007 Chevy avalanche on the driver seat. Exactly the same with the front seat. Looks like I need to pull the seat out...thanks for the great video. !
Good luck with that. I have the same problem with my 2500HD. The problem is the seat is stopped over the rear seat bolt, with no way to move it. The gearbox is stripped, so I cannot turn it with the drill like I can the other side. The other bracket bolts are near impossible to reach, but that is my next plan of attack. Also, good luck finding parts for that gearbox, you have to buy the whole track system. I never found the gearbox or parts.
James Kerns Jr. Have to admit that I removed the seat myself since it was stuck in the position closest to the steering wheel and I could not drive the vehicle to a shop without removing it. Also, I had a Chevy dealer fix the seat properly; admitting that the job and parts to fix it myself were not worth my time and skill level (there is a lot of detailing and material to remove and place with electronics), the dealer mechanic fixed it back to perfection. The amount of detail and work by the mechanic said that they themselves have a hard time breaking even in the repairs. All in all the driver’s seat alone cost me around $1100. Both front seats need the replacement. GM knew what they were doing when they designed these seats and their failure, shame on them in their design and parts choice (plastic). In the future, I would not buy a power seat if I could help it....remembering that they might only last 40-100k miles. Too costly when knowing that they WILL FAIL. These electronic features will cost people more and more. I love technology and the improvements of conveniences that come with them but they always fail. Your can’t buy something today without a warranty for repairs. I wish you the best in your repairs. Good luck with yours.
I have a 03 expedition FX4 anyway y’all can give me the part # for the driver seat motor... seat goes forwards and back, it doesn’t rise up and down.. it has 3 motors

Hi, I have the same issue with my 2012 Suzuki Kizashi's Drivers seat. Is it possible for me, Can I get the part for my Suzuki. How do I order the little gear for my Car Seat?
My mom's 2008 Buick Lucerne has the exact same problem. Hopefully this will work. Can you please provide me the parts number information for that seat? Thanks for the video. It's helping even though it's a different vehicle and seat.
I have a 2014 Tahoe LTZ that the rear of the bottom seat won't go up or down but the motor still comes on and runs. Would this be a gear issue or could the drive have come off track?
What happened? My 2K 1500 inflated lumbar and lifted up and went forward pinned me against steering wheel and froze up. I got out it was a touch ride home
Very simple repair however it does not work on all cars. My 2015 Ford Fusion has the same issue but I cant find parts to fix the track. Ford wants $600 for a new base. How about a seat video on a 2016 Ford Fusion? I can't find any repair parts.
HI Tech Garage. I have the same problem with my seat in a 2007 Chevy Silverado. However, I can't get anyone to give me the part number to replace the drive gear. They want to sale the whole seat base for $700.00 +. What is the part number for that gear and where can I find it?

@@Todd66 Thanks Todd. I spent ten minutes on the site for the exact same part on the same year and model of Explorer . So, this part number would be helpful in this specific case. I could not find the number
Paul yeah that sucks. In your specific case a part number would have been handy, but it might have confused the other 99% of people doing the job. I did not even know these things were serviceable. Did you ever end up locating the part you needed? If so did you fix it like this video?
This doesn't work on a GMC truck or avalanche motor and gears are independent for each side ... Typically it's the plastic cog, that needs replaced with a brass one. Good to know ... Otherwise Thanks
