SOME Cities across the world are NOW Charging 3 times more to register an electric vehicle than a gas one and electric vehicles continue to lose their charge while parked and not running. He also fails to mention the cost to replace the batteries after about 5 years. It's NOT Cheap. An electric vehicle is still a hassle on long trips.
Not sure where you get battery replacement every 5 yrs from. Besides the first generation Nissan L eaf (no thermal management system) and Chevy bolt (Bolt never sold in SA) I've never heard of any electric vehicle needing a battery replacement. In fact Tesla battery degradation is around 1% per 15,000 miles (22,000km) and are expected to last 15-22yrs. My BMW iX has an 8yr 150,000km warranty. Have you ever driven an electric vehicle?
