One of the most time consuming parts of an electrician's job is neat cable clipping, especially in awkward positions. This power tool is cordless and comes with two lightweight Lithium-ion batteries which will allow you to fire a huge number of staples on a single charge. The unit is much more compact than traditional nailer/staplers as DEWALT know that electricians need to get into some very tight spaces. The DCN701 fires staples with enough force to hold the cable but not damage it thanks to the self-adjusting cable sensor on the machine. Another advantage of this sensor is that the machine will not dry fire, which can often be damaging to staplers.
The staples to fit the Electrician's Cable Stapler are insulated where they contact the cable and measure 25mm in height by 17mm in width, making them suitable to use with Twin & Earth cable up to 10mm in size (which measures about 14mm in width). The replacement staples are manufactured by DEWALT and are also available from us in boxes of 540. The self-calibration of the machine is so accurate that you can even use it to clip more fragile cables such as coaxial/satellite and CAT3/5-7 network cables. This kit comes with a charger for the two 2.0Ah batteries, and is packaged in a TSTAK kit box. The stapler features a bright LED to improve visibility of the cables about to be clipped, and you can attach the included belt hook to stow it when not in use.
Features:
Belt hook included
Packaged in TSTAK kit box
Suitable for up to 10mm T+E
Can also be used with fragile network cable

Big difference between UK & US 110V. 50hz & 60hz respectively. You can get converters but, they’d raise a few eyebrows on some sites.

That’s really interesting I didn’t know that about hz. I did about the 110v Reminds me of when I was an apprentice when you see them (Americans) banging out the circuit by putting the live neutral together something we done on the site Temps when I shouldn’t be. Try doing that with 240 V boooooooommmmm

@@ElectricianTV 😂 Great job on the review. I’ve been on the M12 platform for a couple of years & was going to get the stapler but, a few reviews show it damaging cables. I think the dewalt looks a better option. Hadn’t really considered it until I saw this. 👍

I've had mine for a few years now, wood or light block work it'll staple into either, sometimes they're a tad loose but honestly I prefer it as you're able to pull slack. It will work on 10mm T&E but you have to be spot on and it's tight as the staples are wider than the cable but the plastic insulator isn't so it basically pins the insulation down with the plastic.

Nice one that’s interesting to know about the 10 mm

Love mine, def time saver and also the staples comply with premature collapse regs all in one. Just love the sound when the staple goes in!😀

you blokes do great work there... here in the U.S., most labor is now done by unskilled foreigners from south of our border. ive been a contractor for 34 years, and the quality here has gone so far down-hill. there was a guy (from south of border) at a home depot (supposedly an electrician), and he was asking the employee where the double-ended extension cords were. NO JOKE

Milwaukee just came out with their own version. It’s a 12 volt cable stapler

At the moment in the UK the Milwaukee staples cost £40 per box where the dewalt cost £12 per box. Until the prices of the same I won’t buy the Milwaukee one even though I will definitely buy a couple when they come down in price

@@ElectricianTV I hear you. I’ll hold out on buying, that’s too expensive

If it was £40 a box and it came with 4x as many staples it'd make sense but it's just new tool/import tax atm.

I completely get it I was the same at first amount of time it saves. There is no comparison. I certainly wouldn’t use it on anything on show we would probably put in containment
