Track: Electricity (Live), Artist: OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark), Album: Architecture And Morality Tour - Live At The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane - 1981
Every one of these attendees would likely have been using a cell phone to record this amazing show if they could. It was a legit trip to jail if someone was caught recording or photographing a concert back in those days. Illegally filming, likely a 5 year prison term and $250,000 fine. Fans who recorded shows back then were treated like criminals simply for trying to preserve the memory of a moment of their lives. Trust me, most of these fans would have had a cell phone out if they could -- after they work on electricity...
@@nickseidler2534jaja sobie robisz. Każdy by nagrywał. Policja by była bezradna.
One of the most amazing songs. So great, upbeat, uplifting, the way music should be and sound like. OMD and the 80s made a huge impact on me and my friends. We loved that era of music, we loved OMD and enjoyed every second of that era. Brings back so many incredible memories and thank you for that.
I just want to say this ... the concert dates from 1981 at that time I was 3 years old ... today I am 43 years old and with all these years already lived, I can only describe this feeling when I see all those people moving to the rhythm of this song , to the pride that one feels seeing the success of a son ... that is the purest feeling of a human being. I could never attend a concert of them but I feel a great feeling that in my place all those people were able to express all my feelings in that concert seeing how that public lived and enjoyed it. I feel happy about it all .. I love you ..
This 1981 (in Drury Lane Theatre) live performance was simply terrific. The audience seemed to be hypnotized by the upbeat rhythm and Andy's dancing performance. Fan-tas-tic !!!
Imagine some bored teenager flicking through youtube and he/she come across this. They think what the hell and give it a go. About ten seconds later they are not thinking OMD more like OMG! Was music really this good? Did people actually enjoy the music and not waste their time just filming it to watch later. Yes they did. We were blessed but this is timeless so enjoy.
great concert in 1981 omd were brilliant great songs and act. never tire of watching and listening to omd especially this concert well done and thank you omd.
What a performance! What a venue! Love it. I have seen OMD twice- once at Cardiff St.David's Hall in 2007 (where they played Architecture and Morality album in its entirety) and also at Wembley Arena, a few years later.
I so wish I had been there! Was living in Montreal in my youth and was only 14 and caught up with OMD craze around 1985, and never looked back. They are the ultimate most amazing 1980s band ever. I love Andrew dancing like a rag doll, could never achieve it, but certainly tried!! Love love love their material from 3 first albums, so this concert is a bijou. Also loved their Junk Cuture and to some extent Crush albums. Saw them 4x in Montreal!! Love you guys always.
Just posted on FACEBOOK- as early 1980s and being young listening to GREAT music like OMD... I was listening to OMD Peel sessions yesterday in my car and I am re-impacted! ☮ ✝ ☪ 🪯 🕉 ☸
I wish I could say, I was the boy in the first floor in 1:05! Actually I saw them a few years later in Frankfurt. But this audience is propably the best I have ever seen!
If you saw them now there still wouldn't be this kinda passion from the crowd and aliveness. Most of humanity have now been turned into zombies by their IPhones and had their soul sucked out by life. I don't even have a IPad or IPhone and I live a fine life.
The way he jumps and bounces around while singing AND playing the bass guitar... AWESOME !!! such energy and enthusiasm. and this song was one of my faves "back in the day". :-)
This is one of the very rare occasions where the band and audience are totally connecting, OMD at this point we’re really hitting the vinegar strokes era of their career and the audience subconsciously knew it as well.
Wish this era never ended! Wish mobile phones were only able to make and receive calls, I think the younger generation that are consumed by tech would appreciate music, art or other forms of entertainment so much more.
