Thanks for taking the time to post this. I finally got my BikeE E-Bike on the road. I use a Magic Pie 5 20" hub motor powered by a 'super shark' 52V 17AH em3ev battery that is mounted on the frame near the head tube. This helps with the fore-aft balance as the front wheel will lift off the ground going uphill due to the torque of the motor.
Very interested in the kit you used... I have a bikee I've been wanting to convert, but with the small tire size and the unique rear hub I haven't found anything. I like the mid motor set-up
If you search for Portland, Oregon and Eco speed, you can find the company that they became. They sell the midday unit and the batteries and the controllers for the battery. I had a lithium iron phosphate battery which lasts a lot longer than the lithium polymer oxide battery. Set this thing up in 2007 and the battery failed in 2023.
I'll need to check out your other videos. I was told by a Portland e-bike conversion specialist that my Bike E FX would only be able to use a rear hub motor and I am now wondering why since you've been able to use a mid drive. Perhaps too many 'custom changes' required as opposed to rear hub. Maybe you can address that.... Thanks!
Avoid the rear hub. The bike e tire dies not have the circumference needed for speed with the rear hub. The mid drive is definitely going to allow you to work through all the gears. There is more complexity with that option. It took me three hours to install the kit.

I have a Bike E RX and I would like to electrify it. I have not figured out yet how to message you. I hope you are still available to consult on YT. I'll keep trying.
