Lots of tone variety at a reasonable price. It's crazy what FX pedals go for now but this pedal is priced well. Even the JHS guy said he was jealous of EHX because they can put out quality pedals at a low price.

I used to own one of these but because I was playing guitar in my band at the time I ended up trading it for another pedal and have mad regrets because this was and is an amazing bass fuzz. Defs going to pick up another one when I can as well as the Battalion.

Love me that Big Muff sound! I play in a 6 piece rock group, so my distortion is a Ashdown TS so my low end can still be present. But the next 3 piece I play in... I'm going to use my Big Muff Pi and I am going to let it RIPPP!!!

At 0:37 are those how distorted harmonics sound on bass? Also can someone explain to me how the high and low pass works?

Yes. High pass means that any signal of frequency higher than the threshold frequency (adjustable by the knob) passes through the filter. Low pass is just the reverse of that.

I had one. Didn't like the sound. Guess it was just a matter of it not "combining" with my rig, as a pedal can sound very different depending on what your bass and amp are. You guys make it sound really good though. If I hadn't already tried it I'd want one based on the video

Apart from using for any live playing, would you recommend this for pre-recorded music (my smaller 'Big Muff Π' lacking the 'blend' knob - which I guess would be useful in converting a pre-recorded 80's dubplate into more modern, 'University of Dub' type sound) ? I also like sound of some of those 'crossover' frequencies, as far as using it for live playing goes.

Ben To my knowledge, there's nothing else by EHX with the blend control or the gate control, but luckily the Crossover function can be toggled on or off so worst case scenario, you can get this pedal and just leave CO off.

Jack Hughes we haven't demoed the Crayon by itself, however we have done the Hot Wax which has the Crayon circuit in it. That may help you out for the time being.

90% of the time I think Big Muff on bass sounds like shit, but some of these sounds are pretty cool!

Well I got one from Amazon a few days ago and not only is it temperamental in it's lights coming on and off or not at all it does NOT sound like this AT all! Plus they don't include a mains. So even if I replace the inside battery it still is no good. Obviously faulty. Gona have to send it back now I have looked at several online vids. Buy from proper music retailers or cry! 🤣🤣🤣 At this point they aren't being very helpful!

I think I have learnt a lesson though that sometimes even if it takes longer to get to a music shop you know that you are going to have a product which is normally okay!
