I have an ES8 and can change pedal order, and it has a smaller footprint. For $300 less than the ES8, this looks great. I could deal with the slightly bigger footprint, but not being able to change order of effects is a major deal breaker.
I'm a big Gigrig fan - it's easy to compare this to the G2 but think of the price difference. $400 vs. $1100 (U.S.) for the G2. Pricewise, this is more comparable to the Gigrig QuarterMaster but this offers a ton more options than that. Quartermaster just gives you a looper w/flip flop mode, where the Super Switcher gives you actual patch/presets, midi controllability, etc. If money weren't a factor, Gigrig G2 all day long, but if money IS a factor as it is with most of us, this one is awful hard to ignore.
I'm in the same boat as you. My question with the super switcher is can you program the order of the loops like you can with the g2. Thats a really important function to me as far as switchers go...
Is the MIDI out on this thing designed to go only to MIDI controlled pedals or could it go to say, a rack mounted effects switcher like a Voodoo Labs GCX?
Is there anyway of turning channels 1-6 to stereo? Maybe by running both L/R in/outs from my guitar pedals in to the switcher with the right cables? Would the switcher capture the stereo-ness of the pedals?
are they put in order of how you select them for each preset. ? ok answered that question, so all are on in whatever order. The order is important for the sounds you need. The sound levels are not effected; its just an order of what feeds who.
sucks you cant change order of the pedals per patch..But if it can store preset settings of certain pedals (bigsky, timefactor) per patch thru midi and use external gear to change its patches then it may be worth it....BEING $300 less than the Boss ES-8 helps
i plug in my boxes for their own preset sound but how do you know what order they are in if you can't control it. ! Must be consistenT of how they are plugged in ; 1-8 plug order ?

Each controller or loop contains its own send and return, so if you had the room and cables. You could run an ENTIRE pedal board for each of the channel controllers. Hope that helps.
Loving the look of this and the fact it's midi compatible is cool. Does that mean I can use an amp with midi and use this as a channel switcher as well as changing effects when I change channels?
Yup, you can change amp channels with MIDI with this. I have an EVH 5150 iii that has 3 channels that can be changed with MIDI and this unit works great for it.
If your amp has MIDI then yes. If not, then you need some 3rd party solution to convert the MIDI signal coming from the Super Switcher. Example Voodoo Lab Control Switcher can turn the MIDI into 4 isolated relay controls. Even nowadays majority of the tube amps for some reason doesn't have built in MIDI. Starting from boutique amplifiers like Mesa Boogie and Bogner.
In almost every way possible this product is a failure. I have a gig rig g2 and can tell you from experience with it that there is no other device I will use in the current market. I don't know why they would even bother with this at its price point. I would get a boss gt100 before I bought this. Sorry to sound so negative. I own a mel and key 9 and love them! This us a failure
