They were best.... todays Electrolux holds about 2 years then you need buy new one..... Thats why I hold on to Dyson and Miele in all these machines. Much better quality if you want modern machines.
If only modern AEG Electrolux vacuums use stronger plastics, and Ametek Lamb, Domel, or Ametek Italy motors, they would’ve sold pretty well. I’m willing to pay 100 to 200 dollars more for a vacuum cleaner just to have a 1000 hour or longer life suction motor and a robust universal motor instead of a glorified hairdryer fan motor to drive the brushroll. If AEG, decides to make great vacuum cleaners again, they would have a self propelled Eureka ESP with swivel steering and brushroll clean technology.
The epic was first made in 1997 I think and I had one last year, bought at a yard sale and had it looked over by a local guy who has been servicing Electrolux for 30 years said all it needed was a new switch. I took it home and it ran like brand new, I used it for a year rather hard and it quit looking. I took it back to the guy and he said he was surprised the motor lasted as long as it did. It was the best vacuum we ever had. Mom's side has only ever bought this brand since the 70s, granny still had the same central vacuum and all the original pieces and equipment since she bought it in 1987, best brand out there
The Electolux no doubt won the battle, I already knew it would! My mother has two Electrolux vacuums, one is 34 years old, and it still runs like brand new and cleans beautifully, it has only had the hose replaced, has never even needed a new belt on the power nozzle.
@@mikemoyercell Ofcourse oldschool is the best 👍 but in newer machines Electrolux is garbage!! I bought an Electrolux 2007. The hose failed 2009. Used ducktape then there was an new hole in another place. New hose would cost almost like a new machine. I bought an Dyson Animal. Still everything is working without any repair after 9 years!! Electrolux was once Swedish quality product but sometime in the 90s it became garbage!
Electrolux Corporation's Epic 6000 Series model 1718 with the onboard tool tray was introduced 30 years ago this year (2022); however, its basic design without the tray had originated in Canada as the Model E-2000 10 years before. Anyway, in 1993, the 6500 Series replaced the 6000 SR with its electric wand system. Yours could either be the original model 1762 with the 1684 pn or the one that came out a year later-the C102A (stamped on inner bag door) with the N109B pn. The same tank design is still being sold by Aerus LLC as the Lux Legacy model C153E with the N137Z pn.
I have an Epic which I have been using for last 23 years and it still runs like new. I never had to do any repairs all these years, only changed bags! I worked for Electrolux for 14 years at the HQ. I have a carpet shampooer also which I have used for over 25 years, still runs great!
My mom bought the Epic lux used back in 2007 And the only thing I’ve had to do with it was replace the hose And that one broken button lock that was where the duct tape is. Eventually though I want to replace its motor because it’s making some pretty good noise and the switch pedal because I’m having problems turning it on and off. I’m also considering replacing it’s cord winder because it does not wind in as fast as it used to but it does still run.
Christopher Mejia Don't you think it would be a much more relevant test to make one or two passes? What good is a test that no one will ever repeat in real life use?
Watch the shark vs Electrolux video. i only do one pass for each vacuum in that. This was one of my first vacuum comparison videos so don't expect it to be perfect. I've improved a lot since this video. I don't do 25 passes anymore.
The agitation on the older Dyson models wasn't so great, but the agitation on newer Dyson models is insanely excellent. What you need to know is on models DC07 DC14 and DC33 when you recline the machine back the pivoting sole plate tends to tilt up off the floor considering it's supposed to adjust automatically therefore it's not performing at it's best. So it's best to make sure that the head is sealed down to the floor all the way by fixing the position with a light step, otherwise the machine will not perform it's best. With today's Dyson models there's no need to worry about that because because the heads are designed much differently. That's what you need to know.
Good video. Electrolux clearly won that battle! Just a couple of tips for you. You should try using the Perfect HEPA cloth bags in your vacuum, filter much better than the genuine Aerus bags & suction lasts much longer too. Also, there is a new "Chevron" style brushroller that has a extra turn of bristles, & grooms the carpet better. And besides, your old brushroll is probably worn out by now anyways. You can find the Perfect bags on Amazon if you want to try them.
Yes. I would agree that electrolux got almost everything up in 3 passes as for the dyson it did not pick as much up in 3 passes. I love the electrolux it's one of my favorite vacuums. The wand piece may be broken but it still works like new.
I manage an AERUS franchise in Canada. I watched this video with great interest. It's always good to get public affirmation of what I know to be true. So thank you for that. Here is a tip for you. At the start of your video you show the indicator lights. The one with the question mark means that there is no bag in the machine. If you try to use the vacuum with no bag that indicator will light up and the machine won't turn on. Just another great feature on many of our vacuums. Also, there is a round button in the same area. Please turn it to the center position. That is the sensor that tells your machine to turn off when the bag is full. The setting it is at right now will allow you to over fill the bags. By the way... those clips are really cheap and very easy to change. Happy vacuuming!
+ninjeera I have more videos on my channel featuring the Electrolux vacuum. If you liked this video then you should watch those as well. They are a bit more detailed than this video. That Electrolux vacuum is of one my most favorite vacuum cleaners. The suction is amazing and I love it's build quality. It's built like a tank. My mom bought it used back in 2007 and it still works like new.
+Techman5150 Of course it does! And it will for decades. Make sure to remind her to get a tune up every so often. It makes them last forever! I'll take a look at the other videos, thanks for the heads up. Loved your scream, by the way!
Electrolux created the best vacuums by far, and I bet that model is from the early to mid 80's and still works better than the 2000's Dyson crap vacuums.
The Dyson needed tuning up here. It either a bad internal lower hose, or the HEPA filter in it needed replacing as it was restricting the airflow. That’s why it didn’t do as well as the Electrolux. I collect Dysons and tune them up.

well that dyson can't be tuned up or really touched at all anymore without the plastic shattering apart. I cant even put a new hepa filter in it because the cover will shatter and i don't want to buy a new filter cover for it. soon it will end up being parted out or trashed in the future
I am in my mid 20s. My family has had an Electrolux longer than they have had me. Currently duct-taped in a couple places in the hosing, but it still works phenomenallly
What you need to know: Considering the Dyson is supposed to have automatic height adjustment, when you recline the machine back the pivoting sole plate tends to tilt up off the floor there Dyson's cleaner head is not put down properly and it's not performing at it's best. So you have to make sure that the head is sealed down to the floor all the way, otherwise the machine will not perform to well.
On one hand side you're right. On the other hand side a normal consumer needs to plug in the vacuum and turn it on. Like the guy did with the Electrolux one
I was a service manager back in 1986 for Electrolux I repaired all makes. I cannot speak for today but back then Electrolux was far better. It was not just suction power. It was many things like a belt that had "teeth and made like a auto belt that would go years before breaking, A tapered hose that was a bit larger on the tank end ,The roller brush was wooden, and all the bristles were made by Fuller Brush, the power head was auto setting for bare floor and carpets, many more things I found when working on them compared to other makes.
The Electrolux in this video has never failed me but it is quite worn out. There is duct tape on the house, wand and even the wheels on the power nozzle. The vacuum itself is still running fine but the motor now has a very slight wine to it when you turn it on.
Thanks for watching it. That video makes me laugh. If your looking for something funny watch my Harlem shake Halloween edition video. It's one of my funniest videos. If you like my videos please click the like button. I appreciate every like i get.
We had an Electrolux vacuum cleaner back in 1979. In 1980 the whole family moved to San Francisco and several months later a lady came by selling a vacuum that one had to put water in its canister and a few drops of any kind of fragrance to make the air smell nice as you vaccunned. At the end of her demonstration she asked us what type of vacuum cleaner we had and my mother showed her what we had, the lady said, " An Electrolux! That is the Cadillac of vacuums!'.
You just can't go wrong with an electrolux! They are really good vacuums. That electrolux that you see in this video still works good to this day. I think the motor might need an oiling soon but other than that It's still going strong. Sadly it isn't used as much since we got the Shark Navigator last year but i still use it occasionally.
That's because it wasn't sealed to the floor properly! What happens on models DC07/DC14/DC33 is when you recline the machine back the pivoting sole plate tends to tilt up off the floor considering it's supposed to adjust automatically, therefore it's not performing at it's best. You can thank my brother for the hilarious scream as he was the one that scared me. As for Electrolux they are known as Aerus now. I'm not sure how good their newer vacuums are but I'm sure they are just as good as the Electrolux in this video. If Electrolux is too expensive for you, I would recommend a Shark Navigator lift away. They are Excellent vacuums and can clean both carpet and hard floors. I compared a Shark navigator to the Electrolux that you see in this video. You can find the video on my channel. It's called New Shark Navigator Lift Away vs Eectrolux Epic 6500 SR
I bought that same Dyson on sale. It sucked until it didn't. Tiny tube got clogged. Waste of 200 bucks. Bought an old Electrolux Silvererado off of eBay for 60 bucks and I have a sucker for life. Power head works great, but new parts are still manufactured if it breaks.
Those are great vacuums. They are way better than a Dyson. All they really need is a new vinyl hose if you have the original fabric hose and a good cleaning and they are pretty much good to go.
I defiantly agree with that. I love both the Bissell and Electrolux vacuums. That Electrolux is built like a tank and it always keeps going no matter how rough you are with it. The Bissell just works well and has never failed me.
I have a dyson but it sucks Because the brush gets messed up sometimes and I don’t know why, That’s why I like to use bissell power forces because they are cheap and easy to use and to assemble and easy to change the belt while on a dyson it’s like you have to take apart your whole machine and change the belt.
Electrolux FTW!!! I just ordered a refurbished Electrolux Epic 3500 SR upright from ebay and it will arrive around October 2. Can't wait to get it!!! Dyson vacuums are shit, UGLY too!
I have a DC17 animal I bought about 10 years ago that still has the original filter and ZERO duct tape and still works like a new one. Now you wanna talk about quality that's quality what ever happened to Electrolux any way are they still around?
austin mullins I think Electrolux is now known as Aerus. To be honest the Electrolux will always be my favorite vacuum even though it's duct taped. If you watch my newer videos of the Electrolux it now has duct tape on the hose and on the power nozzle. It's seen better days, but has never failed me.
Good Luck on your videos. To be honest I never thought my Vacuum videos would get this much attention and views. I just made these videos because I was really bored one day and wanted to see which vacuum can perform better. My channel was never intended to be a vacuum channel. It's supposed to be a channel where a post a variety of videos that many will people enjoy. I'm glad you enjoy my vacuum videos though. I'll see what I can do as far as coming up with different tests and ideas for more vacuum videos.
it was clear you were having trouble using the dyson. it was hard to tell which side was dirtier. i would say the electrolux side looked a bit nicer, and the vacuum was quieter. electroluxes just feel quality.
I did have trouble with the Dyson since I put the dirt too close to the foosball table and didn't give myself enough space to move the vacuum. Also the Dyson is way heavier and harder to move. In my opinion the Electrolux beat the Dyson. It picked more in fewer passes not to mention it does feel like it is built with quality. It's built like a tank and no matter what you do with it, it always keeps going.
it really depends on how much you want to spend. Electrolux vacuums are very expensive but they last a long time. Dyson vacuums are much cheaper but they probably won't last 20 years like that Electrolux has. That Dyson in this video has not aged well. it still runs okay but the plastic on it has become so brittle over the years that the handle on the cyclone recently broke off on me when I picked it up to empty it. It used to be a bright purple but now it's like a puple-ish brown color. the Electolux on the other hand still works perfectly.
No I've never used a Sanitare before. The closest I've come to a Sanitare was when I used a very old Eureka vacuum at my grandmother's house which looked similar to a Sanitare. It used f and g bags.
Sanitares are pretty good but i also like Kirby vacuums. My grandmother has a 50 year old Kirby 560 vacuum from the 1960's and it still runs to this day but sadly the fan in it is broken so it sounds like a leaf blower when it's running. it needs a new fan but it does still run. Kirby vacuums are built to last. I've never used a modern Kirby vacuum though.
What you need to know: Considering the Dyson is supposed to have automatic height adjust, when you recline the machine the pivoting sole plate tends to tilt up of the floor so there for it's not sealed down right and not performing properly. So you have to make sure the Dyson cleaner head is down all the way otherwise it won't perform too well. The newer models don't have that problem because their cleaner heads are designed differently. This problem is only with models DC07 DC14 and DC33.
This is a little off topic but does anyone know how to recover data from a dead hard drive? One of my external hard drives just had a major crash and none of my computers will detect it anymore. I lost all of my videos from 2014 and up till now. Is there anyone that can help me with this?
My mom bought that used back in 2007 from a friend who used to run a vacuum store. it still runs to this day but will need a new motor in the future and a new switch pedal.
I believe it says "for customer demonstration only". When the vacuum was purchased it was the vacuum that was on display. So that's why that sticker is there.
The vacuum AAAAHHHH!!! lol such a classic moment. Courtesy of my brother screaming down the stairs and scaring me though i left that in the video because i thought it was hilarious.
I have had three Dyson cleaners over the years (two were given to me, one was brand new which broke within the first 7 days and had to be returned). Here in the UK they are heavily marketed as being "the best". In my opinion they are just extremely overpriced pieces of plastic junk. I would NEVER buy a Dyson - I'd rather get on my hands and knees with a dustpan and brush than ever go back to using one of those. Opinion over here is devided on their efficiency - you have people who claim they are brilliant, you have the other end of the spectrum who claim they are complete rubbish. I'm with the latter.
I'm glad you enjoy this video so much. Be sure to watch all of my videos. They are pretty entertaining as well. The Aquatic loop video isn't much of a video but it's a Techno song that I made. You should definitely check it out. Anyways thanks for watching.
That is nice. The Bissell Powerforce bagless is a good vacuum. I also have a bagged version and it works great too. I show off the bagged Bissell Powerforce in my vacuum trolling video. Be sure to check out all of my other videos as well.
Had Dyson and they're garbage, had Electrolux it was fine, Hoover is good and Vax (Vax is sister machines to Hoover USA models) which we have the Air Vax - same as Hoover air and it's ace!
My brother thought it would funny to scream at me down the stairs while i making this video. This scared the living daylights out of me resulting in me screaming. if you watched to the very end you can hear him in the background along with me saying "you just ruined the whole vacuum battle".
Hi big fan 😄😄😄😄 I have a dyson DC 07 dirt devil shark rotator pro bissel tempo Kirby 4g for Xmas I want a shark rotator powed lift away true pet I am 11 years old I ❤️ vacuuming.
Nicholas Stocks you do not need to reply if it is something that is not being nice. No, I'm just giving small advice incase you need a new vacuum. But your vacuum will not break down. Btw, no hateful replies.
Nope your wrong. I did not turn the brush off on the Dyson. Look carefully at 1:43 on the video you will clearly see the brush roll is turned on. Watch Bissell vs Dyson vs Electrolux Shredded paper test for a much better comparison.
xPissInMySoupx what a fuckwit you are, you cant just make people quit, sure you are not enjoying the videos but a whole lot more people are so why dont you go fuck of you fuckwit
