3:58 - do NOT tighten these. they're supposed to be loose. the nuts are loctited in place. the bolts need to be semi-loose against the metal plate. back them out if needed. if you attempt to tighten these you'll fk up your Z axis - even stalling and jamming it.
3:54 if you would follow instructions you have seen to bend cable and then insert this mount 3:56 DO NOT TIGHTEN Z AXIS SCREW NUTS!! It can introduce z wobble! it has belt on top for both lead screws so it doesn't leave space for z axis to move if its bent. Trust me I wrote support because of this and they told me to leave it as it is! It won't make print quality worse. I had so much trouble with this printer that I can't realy recommend it. It won't be 'it just works'
Thank you for the infos multidelta, i will undo the Z axis screws as you mentioned. Its nice to get good advice like that from more experienced people 👍
for me the infill issue that you mention solved itself when I raised the nozzle temperature around 10 to 15°C ,I think it wasnt getting enough flow at 400mm/s because the filament didnt have enough time to properly melt at these speeds
Thats interesting... i also tried to raise the temp, but i did not get it much better. Glad you found a way to get rid of this problem and thank you for sharing it here 👍👍
Thaks for hints. After 5 years spent with my glorious Ender 3 (modified across the years) I want to move to something FASTER and print DIFFERENT MATERIALS. Now I'm torn between NEPTUNE 4 PRO and ENDER 3 V3 KE. Which one should I go for, and why? or which one NOT and why NOT?
Hey Mate, thanks for your comment. I only have the Neptune 4 Pro and have only tested 2 Models of that printer. So im not very experienced and dont know that much what other printers are good for, or better than the Neptune 4. For me its a great printer, but i dont have that much ecperience with 3D printing as you have with 5+ years of prining. I just start now to experiment with other materials and cant tell you much about tha capabilitys of the N4 with other filaments. Maybe i will make a video about that topic in the near future, but next video will be about all possible upgrade parts for the neptune 4... maybe after that i can check out things like TPU, PETG, ASA and others. As for the speed of the printer, thats geat, i have set it to 250mm max, what does the job for me ;-) What Filaments du you want to print?
I asked a friend who does some ABS printing, he suggested to use some sort of enclosure to print ABS because of the deforming. Maybe building one around the Neptune 4 or take a look at the Bamboolab printers that come with a enclosure and run klipper?
@@Dirt-E-Bikes Hello! This means, you ordered one, you had problems with and then they replaced it? If yes, can you make the models downloadable which showed you that something is wrong with the printer?
I bought Bambu lab P1S had trouble with Cutter stuck Aira. printhead nozzle? Your Neptune or pro review is great. The thing I like about the bamboo is they have the automatic color change please advise thank you for your help.
Thanks Mate, i think the bambu ps1 plays in an other league ;-) looks like a great printer, and the elegoo will not do automatic color changes at all. but bambu is also not as cheap as the N4/pro that comes for 270$. I guess if you are unlunky, you could spend more money on a even better printer and get that one model out of 99 good ones that make you trouble 😅 Were you able to get your problem fixed on the bambu? Have a nice day ✌️
@@Dirt-E-Bikes No send it back & just order X1-carbon I’m just gonna go for it you only live once. I did like the A1 with the AMS MAYBE IN THE FUTURE I’LL GET IT AGAIN. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SICKNESS LOL. Thank you for your help
@@richthemagicman you are very welcome, i also dream of the Bambu lab printers, but have not enough money in my pocket ;-) Enjoi the ride on the carbon, it will be great i guess 😄👍
Thanks Russ Shanks, im not sure if that works, but i guess if you try it that way, you could make that with a "crossed-cable" (?) like if you would connect two laptops by a lan-cable. But im really not sure... I did it with the wifi-extender, that works flawless for me. Keep on printing and have a nice day ✌️
plug a lan into the printer and into your router or wherever your internet network ports out for any wired devices and your laptop can connect via wifi as long as it is on the same network as the printer, you can find your IP address in the display on the printer and type that into a browser window and it brings up Fluidd, the klipper control interface to access the functions (this is per the neptune 4 pro, i dunno about any other printers but im sure it would be similar
This worked great to enter IP address into My phone web browser and started job remotely! Is there a way to store print jobs in Fluidd? Do I have to leave USB drive installed while the print job is printing?
@@russshanks5913 nice :-) If you print over the fluidd interface, it should save your prints and you can later select it and print it again. If you are using the usb drive, you can only reprint it over the display when the previous print is done. It will not store it if you print something other in between. Not sure if it is necessary to leave the usb drin in the printer while printing, i changed over to fluidd after a few prints with the usb, and never get back ;-) Nice that it works by the lan/laptop on your side. Have a nice day ✌️
A lot of these problems seem like alignment issues. level the bed, level the bed, level the bed. if your nozzle is scrapping, your bed is most likely not level. Also your Z clearance should always be adjusted, more often so with larger prints. I have Neptune 4 plus and only been printing for 2 weeks and z axis clearance and bed leveling is key.
Also if your running at 500mm/s you are going to get more movement and shaking with your printer, which in return will slowly misalign your bed. that will cause scraping.
Thanks for the tips mate, guess you are right, it runs flawless now. But i guess it was also a twisted axis, as i had no problems with the 2nd elegoo printer i got. But leveling and z offset also does its part 👍
I didn't get any "tips" in this video... just a bunch of problems you had with the printers without understanding or explaining why they happened... kind of a pointless video sorry. I hope you can format and structure your videos to better reflect the title and what you want to present in the future... good luck.
Thanks for your feedback, i will try to get it better in the next one. The problems i had with my first printer is most likely doe to bend parts. Have a nice day
@@robothtml good one 😂 Yes, like i said, im glad that i get it true a dealer from my country, so they had to send me a working one. I think that can be considered a "tip"
I have the same machine, and am having the exact same problem with the nozzle rubbing and scraping my models. I've made a number of them successfully, but anything with fine detail is destroyed
Hi Africats, sorry to hear that. Do you have this problem since the first prints? Or was it occuring over time? Mine was bent, only slightly, but i had to send it back. But others said that they can go along with it by adjusting the z offset during the print... Also some good and frequent leveling can help, but if it occures all the time, i would suggest to inform the seller and maybe getting a new one.
Wrong on the loose screws they are meant so your coupler can move cause sometimes the z rod aren't straight and flush by tightening them it will ruin your prints way worse
Hi Ricardo, on my first Neptune 4 (pro) the belt of the y axis was not straight, as you can see in the my first video about it. But i did aligne it before i was doing the first print, so i am not sure if this would cause layer shifts.
Mine has the exact same issue, I kept adjusting the z axis offset while printing and I could get it to stop. Noticed the bed was a little off after I moved it for the first time, still makes nice prints though
Hi Levidarling, i hope it will help you. I dont own the N4 max, but i think most parts will work on that one as well. You may need some more links at the chains ;-) Did you allready get the printer? Or waiting on delivery?
Oh sorry, i was on the wrong video... i did a Upgrade video with all free 3D printable parts to upgrade Your Neptune printer... it may interesst you as well 😅👍
Hey isthattrue, i also tought so at the beginning, but the seller confirmed that something was bend and sent me a new one. No problema with the new one so far. Mesh also was quite good with the old one, that was not the problem ✌️
@@Dirt-E-BikesYeah I’m sorry but you can’t expect good quality with 500mm/s. I’m not really saying it’s your fault, because it was marketed with that speed, but 500mm/s is just too much for this printer. Elegoo even recommends 250mm/s, and I use 200mm/s (for my perimeters). I don’t think you can blame most of these problems on the printer just because you set it to 500mm/s
@@zurabtsereteli9195sure, you are right. i was jokeing, i do 250 mm/s for most PLA, and TPU with 50mm/s max. But they should not advertise its speed that way if it cant deliver.
@@zurabtsereteli9195 ok, thanks for the info, very appreciate good tips from people who are more experienced 👍 i will try that on the next prints i do :-)
Sorry to hear that Jochen. best tip i can get you if you looking towards buying that printer is to buy it from a vendor in your region that can and will replace it if it fails on you, like the first one i got (and i heard now of some more people in the comments on this channel, which is not a big channel anyway). So... thats what i had to say at this point. Tip 2 from this video: you can not start a print from wifi without checking on that filament blob that would ruin more than every second print you start... found a way to live with that, but only 2 month later... Anyway, i promise next time will be better ✌
Lamentável a elegoo neptune 4 pro estar vindo com problemas de alinhamento dos eixos X e y... Isso fazendo peças ovais ao invés de peças redondas... Diferença perceptível com paquimetro... Para peças mecânicas é uma péssima opção!
@@Cheeto320 ok, i hope the best for you and that they can fix it or take it back and send you a new one. My local seller (not ELEGOO) did that, but i was waiting over 1 month to get it replaced. I guess if you ordered it from Elegoo directly, it should not tale this long.
yes, in very short: if the printer does it from the beginning and there is no chance to fix it by any settings, its probabely bent... send it back to the vendor. for that, its easyer if you buy it from a local vendor.
@@Dirt-E-Bikes You should do an video sometimes on how to get an used bike/what to look out for(dropouts and stuff) for an basic kit and talk about some setups for different usage, like if you need an road commuter within the legal range or a full suspension platform for offrad climbs ✌️

Dont tighten the screws at 3:58. They need to be this way. And your first layer is crap, go down 0,05mm more. Also, not much information, wrong tips, just clickbait...
