1:37:08 finds a sample and edits it into a sound that is similar to an MFB Tansbar-like sound. Really nice!

Thank you for this! I’m learning so much from your videos. I’m on my second OT and really committed to integrating it into my musical brain. I’m also a singer/guitarist who took a permanent detour into electronic music about 4 years ago. I still do the singer songwriter thing too and would love to hear how you balance those two paths. Had a good time interacting on this stream! Someone else brought up a question that I don’t think got answered, the question was if you use scene changes on one device to change all your devices scenes at the same time? Again, really enjoyed this stream. Would love to see the same type stream on your modular.

The OT is the only one of the three with scenes. But you can control pattern changes using the OT and the other two will react. I’ve only messed about with this briefly and seems to work as long as they’re all running the same pattern length. If pattern lengths are longer on one machine it’ll take an extra 1 or 2 or 3 bars to catch up.

How do you route midi so that the octatrack sends clock to DT / DN, but pattern change is controlled on the DT?

Thank you this is unbelievably helpful! Quick question and apologies if I missed it. Are you using the digitakt to sequence the digitone in this setup? I'm trying a similar setup with OT, DT and a small eurorack skiff and am trying to figure out the optimal configuration. I'm just learning how outstanding the OT's midi arpeggiator is but for a prearranged set I'm wondering if you still prefer the DT to handle sequencing in that case. Thanks!

I prefer the workflow of the Digitakt for most things - unless you need slices

what's your recommendation for the MIDI connection scheme of these three beautiful devices? e.g. Digitakt (Program Change Send) -> Octatrack (Pr CH Receive) ? edit: Also I should add that besides these three devices, I have a modular bass in my setup, and would like to use the octatrack for playing time-stretched samples as well

Depends on what you are trying to do. I use the DT as master clock cause that's where I do most my writing and sequencing. I dont have the OT receive anything but transport and clock.

@@EZBOT_ I like that. It keeps things simple with the OT's scenes and machines. I have an external bass analog synth who's midi in is controlled by the DT but I guess I can just pass the data through midi thru of the other elektron machines. Thanks for the advice!!

@@EZBOT_ good point there! not to mention the price difference and the form factor. Still rytm also has some perks, like kits, and song/performnance mode and of course analog compressor and synth
