With Klaus and his partner-in-crime off to the Smoky Mountains to create more hybrids, Elena, Alaric, and Damon go on a road trip to try to bring Stefan home. Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, Jeremy asks Matt to help him with a seance to contact Vicki. Tyler spends his day looking for Caroline after she snuck out right after their hookup but eventually realizes that Carol knows Caroline is a vampire and he decides to reveal his secret to her. Back in Tennessee, Stefan saves Damon from one of the werewolves that Klaus was trying to turn, which gets Damon back on board with the plan to save his brother. Unfortunately, Klaus starts to wonder why none of his hybrid experiments are working if he did everything right, even killing the doppelgänger.

“When I drag him back from the edge and deliver him back to you, I want you to remember the things you felt while he was gone.” When damon said that to elena, I screamed so loud. The chemistry between them is insane. The way he holds her face close with echo playing the back is so iconic. One of my favorite delena scenes omg.

You’re so right. Alaric definitely is the key witness on delena’s interactions. Even in season 1, he noticed there was something between damon and elena.

I think Tyler knew right away about Tennessee because it was a throwback to season 2 when he left town with Jules and the gang. When a little wolf (hint/wink wink) shows up she also mentions that´s how they met. Makes sense that werewolves would hide away in the mountains and that´s where he went, probably where Mason also was regularly. The wolves had a whole life that we don´t get to see which is a bit of a shame. Also something I noticed that kinda weirds me out about Klaus (spoiler so do not read if you have not seen the whole season) and his power play with blood sharing thingy...when he gives his blood to male characters he always uses like a glass of a bottle but with female characters he right away bites into his wrist and gives his hand. Shadyyyyyy and kinda weird of him, I love Klaus but eww. Always gave me the ick.

The Way Sarah accidentally said mornin' is how I grew up hearing it. 😂 it sounded like you were from Georgia for a second. I've lived about an hour from were they filmed TVD my whole life. After watching this show the only way I can say Georgia now is how Damon says Georgiaaaaa in the road trip episode with Elena in season 1. Even though I live so close to Covington Ga, which is where it was filmed I've never been there to see it. I only watched the show for the first time in 2020. Another great episode. I loved the ending Delena moment so much. When Damon has a speech to give its always the best part of the episodes. ❤Delena

I was really excited for you guys to cover this episode and you did not disappoint! I am surprised that Alaric’s extremely loose/low cut neckline when they were hiking in Tennessee was not brought up though. It gets me every time!!

I thought it was kind of crazy how Elena doesn’t have more of a reaction to Andie being killed by Stefan. This was someone who was Jenna’s friend and who she had multiple interactions with. I get that she’s concerned about Stefan but it’s just one of those moments where I feel there is compassion lacking from the character who is supposed to be the most compassionate. I am not an Elena hater, that lack of reaction just didn’t make sense to me.
