Elephant Love Medley - Moulin Rouge!
I realise this isn't what I usually post, so for those of you expecting another cover, here is something even better. A video of me doing what I love most: performing on stage ❤️
Over the past few months, my musical theatre group and I have been mounting our own production of Moulin Rouge. I was fortunate enough to be cast as Satine, and what a blast I've had playing her! She's taught me confidence, courage and patience, but most importantly, love.
I have so many videos of this song in rehearsals and on stage in other performances, but this particular take was of our last show. Of all those other versions, this one is by far my favourite.
As always, I could never have done this by myself. Thank you to my sister for being my cameraman, to my teachers Elfy Ka, Lea Bosco and Loraine Bégard for their unconditional faith and support, as well as for all they've taught me. I truly could not have wished for any better mentors. Thank you also to the TRAM, and all the wonderful people I shared the stage with that made Moulin Rouge feel like a home. But most importantly, thank you to my Christian, Jean-Michel Borde, for being the most amazing stage partner and a comforting presence throughout rehearsals. I wouldn't have wanted to be anyone else's Satine.
I hope watching Satine and Christian's playful back-and-forth banter brings as much of a smile to your face as it has to mine all these months. Who knows, maybe one day I'll play Satine on a Broadway stage...
