the series made me cry almost every episode. ARMS did the best they could as a fledgling small hentai co. they made it personal, funny and sad. I truly loved Elfen Lied and I'm glad it was so ahead of its time.
I liked the series when I watched it as a young one. Although incredibly brutal and shallow at times I think with a little more funding it could’ve ended up really popular…. Maybe. It had as much depth as you could in 12(ish) episodes

Probably the most beautiful, poignant and heart rending song in the repertoire of anime music. It just grabs me and won't let go. No matter how many times I listen to it, it just tears me up. A perfect mix of sentiment and counterpoint to the brutality of the anime that asks the question: who really is evil and who really is good? I have seen this anime at least 50 times and still get more philosophical insights from it. Truly, a masterpiece both visually and musically.

The only thing I can think of similar to what you’re describing is Brothers from the FMAO OST. That song is one of the only songs to actually make me cry, which may or may not be due to that series literally raising me. The singing is amazing there as it is here. This is starting to grow on me the more I listen to it…
Lucy deserved better. She had a rough life in the anime. She was abandoned as a child and had to live a life where suffered a lot of pain and misery. Plus, because she is a murderer in the series, it was hard to get her childhood friend Kouta to fall in love with her in the end. I really felt bad for her in truth.
This song is so underrated, it’s literally a masterpiece not worth missing. The anime is amazing too. Why is no one talking about this anime nowadays? I guess not everyone gets it
Fr. Honestly sad as I watched and read the series a couple months back and enjoyed it. Yes there are issues with it (like a lot of anime) but I enjoyed it. Sad to see people hate on it, honestly deserves a reboot or something to bring it back. It deserves it's entire story to be told and be told at it's finest.
I'm pretty sure it samples classical music in some parts. So these parts are super well known, and also pretty much every weeb knows about this show in general. I don't think this is underrated. It's pretty famous even.
I remember I fell asleep listening to music, this song playing as I woke up with tears in my eyes, and then I felt a void inside my chest but a the same time the most beautiful feeling ever. Hard to explain really.
Dude i can not listen to this song and not fall asleep. Heck i even tested on my sisters babies. Her oldest is 13 now. But even when he was a new born. Whenever sis kids had trouble sleeping i grab them and i play this but in all music box theme and it never fails to put them to sleep. And me as well lol . For as haunting of an anime this is this song is pure majestic and very relaxing

I was 6,5 when I found this anime. It was kinda my 1st one and still my favourite one. it made a big impression on me. It's been 8 years I think. I'm really glad that this was my 1st anime tbh.

Pişmanlıklar, her şeye rağmen duyulan sevgi, en ufak yalanın bile doğurduğu belirsiz ve trajik sonuçlar, güç hırsıyla davranan herkesin sonunda tökezlemesi... say say bitmez. Açılış şarkısına denk gelmemle keşfettim. Uzunca bir süre operalarını dinledim ama keşke açıp direkt izleseymişim. Yine de karşılaştığım için şanslıyım tabii. Aún tengo el Cd de este anime, ya ha de tener unos 10 años. Me acuerdo que se dañó el aparato de reproducir los cd y se reproducía solo, no podía adelantar, me daba cosas escuchar el op, me daba como terror y miedo, como pasaba sola y viendo este anime, digo como no me traumé. Ahora lo escucho y siento tristeza, melancolía y nostalgia. De un sentimiento de miedo, pasé a otro sentimiento que es la tristeza, jajaja.

Se me eriza la piel cada vez que escucho esta hermosa canción, es una tormenta de sensaciones que a la vez trae paz y te hace llorar, jamás un opening de un anime me ha hecho sentir eso, esto es simplemente una obra de arte, más que un simple opening es una pieza musical tan bella que a este tiempo ya no hay muchas.
