Arm pump is the sudden rush of blood into your arms..Simple Tip :Do some pushups before you get on the line, squeeze the brake and clutch lever while on the line, then relax a bit and go ! Wow no arm pump ! "Arm pump" later on in a race can be caused by bad riding form and or possibly due to poor handlebar position/setup. and obviously the kind this video is talking about, to weak to hang on to a bike for the duration. Which I don't feel is arm pump, but fatigued muscles...

While these things are important, you won't remove armpump/wrist pain/handcramps etc IF you aren't working on your core. Weighting your arms/shoulders too much means you are compensating for something. What? Your core, your lower back and not having enough flexibility (trunk & hip rotation) The body is really good at compensating to keep you going, but you are best to not start forming these bad habits. Instead start training your core up and buildup an awareness of what muscles are being under used, not just over used. 👍 Think about it..

@@herculesmclovin how can you talk about core but not the most important muscle's used when riding? Your bloody legs, sequeezing the bike with them with proper standing and seated positions, getting your head over the bars when accelerating and the opposite when braking, allows your arms to be nice and relaxed. That along with good breathing technique and your arms will be happy

The one simple tip is, keep your head over the handlebars

I am struggeling on sand with deep rots. Found out more standing with a lots of weight to the rearweel. My throttle hand gets first tighten up. I will try now also head over handlebar in combination. Of course being better athlet of course. Did not drive for many years. Feels sometimes that I have to learn a lot compliedly new. But thats for shure the most limiting is right now armpump.
@motodude45
@motodude45 3 года назад
@@lotharluder2743 a good cue also is “knees back”. This will auto magically place your head forward over the bars and bend forward at the hips. This positioning forces you to grip with the lower body. You should be able to open your hands on the handlebar when you do it right because the legs are doing all the work.

@@motodude45 thanks man. Driving last trainingsession on deep rottet sand everything seemed to me better when I did like that. Since I am an old sportgrandfather and did not train Moto fore many years I need any tip. The young hot shuts wonder that I come arround at all. 67 years old bustard. The drive that fast that I think the superhumans. I am wild determined to close at least to the speed a had when I stopped crossdriven.

Jesus Christ. “Eliminate arm pump with the one simple tip!!” And it’s literally something as vague as ‘be a better athlete’. Pretty damn sure that isn’t ‘simple’, and it’s not even a tip. Sounds like advice from a 5th grade soccer coach.

Man I’m in such a good shape love when people give all these crazy advises. My arm pump is so bad and I tried everything it’s getting to the point I’m either going to cut it open or quit riding no fun anymore.

I think this is the exact opposite of what people need to do, at least for motocross. Look at any pro racer, Stewart, roczyn, barcia, plessinger,- not one of them game big forearms and not one of them works out their forearms. I’ve always worked out but the last few years I started doing more heavy lifting- including forearms, dead hangs, etc. The last year I’ve had BY FAR the worst arm pump I’ve ever had in my life- like by 10 fold. I mean 2 minutes of hard riding on a rough track my forearms were so pumped up it was dangerous. So ive started to eliminate all forearm and grip specific exercises, they still get worked during other movements, but my arm pump is 100% gwtting better. If it was a strength issuse, 14 year old kids wouldnt be able to hammer out 30 minute motos while weighing 110 pounds and probably cant even bench the bar alone. Bigger more muscular guys always get arm pump worse.

So if i work out really hard. Will this help with carpal tunnel syndrome? Or should i still have the surgery and take time to heal then train hard?im 43 Ive be on mx bikes since 1980. Raced bmx n xc n DH though the mid 90s into 2010. I still trail ride my mtb but mx coaching my daughter is my path now. All the things in this video which were addressed and......diet. Anti-inflammatory food will help alot. More plant based products. Clean proteins. Get your cardio on the level with a solid clean paleo diet and it should help substantially.
