This one has been one of the best so far I also like and can trust that you are a very legitimate and knowledgeable source for my condition. And your sleeping with sciatic nerve pain has been very helpful thank you so much.
I had a incarcerated femoral hernia and after surgery my sciatica came back with a vengeance, like almost I’m tears pain. I started searching on RU-vid and found this video. All I can say is thank you, my relief was almost instant after doing these stretches.
First of all- I never comment on any videos of any sort. But I have to now. I hurt my lower back in the gym. Sciatica ensued. For a week I suffered sleepless nights. Miserable days at work, and constant PAIN. I dropped $150 on a massage. $75 on a chiro. No good result. Pain worsened. I watched this video a half hour ago. I tried the seated exercise first. It was intense at first but my pain IS GONE. The numb sensation in my leg is almost gone. I feel back to normal now. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO. I wish I had watched it first.
Go see an orthopedic doctor, I am having the same problem, and I have a bulging disc, and if you're not careful, you can damage the nerves, which can lead to a drop foot.
For months I've been having sciatica problems. I've been to several doctors who do nothing about the pain because when I ask for help they just tell me I'm drug seeking. I've asked, repeatedly, for physical therapy referrals (it took me 6 months to get someone to get me a referral to acupuncture and I don't know why because that's not even a medication). In the last 5 days the pain has been so bad I haven't been able to sleep and I can barely eat. Just doing one of these stretches helped more than any doctor/pill I've tried in literal months. Seriously, why does anyone go to doctors for anything? RU-vid is more helpful.
10 days I'm in So much pain, zero sleep and can't even do that chair stretch.desperate now.prescribed Gabapentin but has done nothing to the point I've given up.i literally can't do anything
My back has been breaking me for 5 days, it’s central back pain, but it travels to my right side, left side, thighs, even my toes in firm of cramps. I’m 62yo, overweight, my knees have arthritis, so I’m a mountain of pain & aches. But I’m on my way to get better, thank you for your videos, I just finish PT with you in a 20 min span. ❤️
I did the first of these exercises 5 minutes ago and the sciatica pain was gone and I have been suffering for about 3 months on and off. I will try the other two exercises and see how that goes. You know your stuff.
I turned to put a cup in the sink. WT ever loving H??!!! In the past month I have; hiked 12 mi. through the mountains, there were at least 3 places where we went 5,000'+ vert. I spent the best part of 4 days dangling from a cliff, fossil hunting. Did over 350 mi. on a 4 wheeler. Rode a little over 100 mi. with my wonderful crazy friend driving her jeep. Got stuck a couple times. Used her new front winch! Went dip netting. . . . Whole time, feel great! Body strong. Back felt amazing. 2 days ago, I picked my coffee cup up from the counter and turned to put it in the sink and I felt a pain shoot from my lower back all the way to my calve. "YIP YIP YIP!" I sounded like a puppy hitting an electric fence. Good lord! Thanks for the video, I'll be doing these lightly every 2 to 3 hr. till I'm up and running, I ain't got time to waste a minute of summer. It's too short up here for that.
This channel are life changing. I always suffering pain and sore almost whole body. From neck pain to sciatica pain. But this channel are the only one channel that give exercise for instant relief. Thank you so much Dr Jared. I also recommended your channel to my brother when he got knee pain last time. He said it's work wonder
Incredible. I have had sciatic pain on and off since having my first child 2 years ago, now that I am pregnant again the flare ups are happening more often and worse. I couldn’t t get off the floor last night. But this, this video is incredible. Pain subsided after doing each exercise for 2-3 minutes. I plan to continue throughout the day but just in 10 minutes I have more movement in my entire body.
It may also be pelvic girdle pain I had it bad with both mine to the point if I tried to walk my hips would collapse the severity left after about 3days of my son being born but left me with the usual sciatic pain long term I found out after you can get a belt to hold the baby higher to relieve pressure not sure how far along you are now but it could help towards the end
I have been dealing with sciatic pain for almost seven years now and the only stretch I have found to keep my sciatic pain away is the cobra pose. I know everyone's situation is different but I hope this helps some people out there dealing with the same pain as me.
Sounds like you might possibly benefit from this video as well, Luke: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S9zn6fP9Roo.html Good luck with your pain and I hope you feel better! Thanks for watching and commenting.
It works for me. I have sciatic on my left side, and when I start feeling nerve pain I just do these exercises. Thanks a million for your information. 😊
I've had glute and sciatic pain for over 2 months (from sitting too much) and your videos have been extremely helpful. I've been doing the exercises and stretches every day and am finally pain free for most of the day (some tightness when I first get up still). I was happy to see this new video out and found it helpful as well. Your videos are concise, informative and helpful with good sound/filming/editing as well. Thank you! (I just recommended your channel in a FB group I'm in as folks were complaining about different issues).
@@LASTSAGI888 Nothing. I have found his videos very helpful. They are straightforward and informative. I’m sure my glowing review sounded fake to you, but it is not, I swear.
I started sitting on an exercise ball at work (at the computer) and my sciatica which I have had for 4 years went away! I’ve been sitting on the ball ever since. It really works!
I rarely leave RU-vid comments, but I felt compelled to write this one to express my profound gratitude to Dr Jared for the these recommended exercises. I explored numerous options to alleviate my sciatica pain (Buying new office chairs, seat cushions etc.), but none worked. The numbing and chronic pain overtime became mentally and physically debilitating. Upon finding this video and trying these exercises regularly, especially the supine exercise, has transformed my condition. The sciatica pain has been relieved tremendously and the numbing pain virtually gone. I would highly recommend anyone experiencing these symptoms to try these exercises. Once again thank you Dr Jared for this amazing video.
Thank you good sir! you saved me from my sleepless nights in so much pain. I was beggining to think that something is severely wrong with my legs. After watching a few minutes of your video I tried the sitting exercise and my God it worked my entire body was sweating as I felt relief. Thank you again sir. If can subscribe to your channel 1 million times I would do it to say thank you. I pray that God will continue to bless you as you continue helping people in pain. Again, thank you sir from the bottom of my heart.
I have been suffering with sciatica for years now. It gets worse when I sit for extended periods of time which I do a lot of when ubering. I have been doing professional massages and recently began visiting a chiropractor(all of which help) I have watched these video exercises and will try them all tonight at home. Great for at home! I'm very excited about anything that helps with my pain. Wish me luck!! Yolanda
I am 60+ my age. My Sciatic experience feeling is just starting. I do watch your technique & it helps me lower down my pain, until it makes my day comfortable! I usually do it on my bed as I wake up ! Thank you for your help & te unique.
The last one it's like magic. 10 min ago i was in chronic pain in my left leg due to sciatica problems, then i tried the last Exercise, and guess what... wow the pain disappeared in a few seconds, so i wanted to say this: Thank u so much doc for helping a lot of people, we Really appreciate, Because you really do a great job and make a positive impact in people's lives. ❤️🙏🏼
That’s pretty funny. Sit comfortably. I can’t sit I can’t stand. I can’t walk. I can’t sleep. The pain is constant and doesn’t go away. I’ve tried every exercise. RU-vid has to offer and nothing is helping me. I’m supposed to get an x-ray, but just going and getting some blood work done for my Angela yesterday put me in the worst pain I’ve had in a month. I came home, went to bed and just cried and waited for it to subside. I have spent a month doing gentle stretching gentle exercises, floor wall seated everything. Nothing helps. One person even said don’t sit keep moving I can’t keep moving because then I’m in such excruciating pain. It takes me an hour to get over it.
@@1234m.i don’t do surgery for arthritis. My doctor said there is no cure. The only thing I can do is physical therapy and some medication and hope everything dies down.
Me too and the Doctor looking at me like am crazy I get numbness if I walk more than 50 ft I can't seat for 5 min I only can stand up for 5-10 min I try moving around that shit hurt, I just to be so advanced than sciatica nerves pain cane alone smh .. I guess no GYM for me
Don’t get surgery yet, I had the same problem nothing at all helped until I went to a physical therapist, she put me belly down on a spinal decompression table for 1/2 hour each visit, I was in so much pain, I couldn’t get up on the table my first visit, it took 2 people to put me on the table, ever so slowly, when that machine pulled my body apart, the pain went away, but of course I couldn’t stay there forever, but it felt soooo good, after 3-4 visits 1/2 hour on that table each time , I was good for a long time, also did my chair leg stretch when I felt a little something acting up, I sit in a chair, put my leg up, ankle over my other thigh, then pull your bent leg up towards you gently from the knee, don’t force it, I did this for like 10-20 minutes when it starts to hurt, I was able to do these at work too
Thank you for the generosity and kindness for teaching.. Please help me on how to relieve my thigh pain at night while lying on bed and while I am standing... Thank you! ❤
Im 60 and in 2019 is when it started.. I fell asleep on night and slept in an awkward position and when I woke up both my legs were completely numb, and my left foot was paralyzed.. A few months after that after being in so much pain and not being able to walk, somehow managed to have an incident that caused my sciatic nerve in my right hip to become unbearable .. and since then I go in and out of having severe sciatic nerve pain to the point where I can't even think straight I can't stand I can't walk I can't sit , I can't stay in any position for any length of time.. And today it just came out of the blue and the pain is so bad then I looked on RU-vid for something anything to help, and yours was the p third video I looked at .. I did the first exercise and well it didn't take the pain away completely, it took it down to a point where I felt like I could breathe again.. I plan on trying all the exercises, so far your instructions on exercising has been the only thing that's helped.. thank you so much!
Firstly your body needs to be ready for the exercises and if you have continuous pain it aint ready. Alleviate the pain by using hot water bottle on the painful areas. Reboil after 4hrs for maximum ease. This method my last 3-4days hereafter you will be ready for the exercises
I found you again! I've come to realize I don't have a pulled hamstring I have sciatica because it starts at the very top bone of my behind and ends deep into my calf. I am so happy I found another of your videos right off the bat when I searched for sciatic nerve relief I will do everything that you suggest and I really do appreciate your well demonstrated thoughtful and knowledgeable education thank you as always you are awesome!
I have had sciatica on and off since my pregnancy 27 years ago. This morning it was the worst it’s been in a long time. I just casually did the first seated exercise and it took care of it instantly. Thanks so much!
Wow! I saw a video for reducing sciatica pain and it required crossing the non painful leg across the leg that hurts. I could barely do it and had no idea why my non painful leg was hurting. This video explained it all! I'm NOT crazy!!! lol I also sit in a twisted position like you mentioned, so that may be the cause of my problem. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise!!!
I did this yesterday, after I could barely get out of bed, needing to lift my leg up as I carefully climbed down from my loft bed!!! This morning, I was out of my bed, then realized I didn’t have that HORRIBLE PAIN!!! 😳👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 THANK YOU, but I’m going to stretch both sides still to avoid.
I cannot thank You enough for sharing this. The pain started last week. Just right of my tailbone. Next to the hip bone. I tried the sting one first. Got instant relief. Been repeating it several more times. Will try the laying down technique next time! I liked what you said about flossing the nerve. That is exactly how you’re dislodging that nerve from the location it’s stuck in. Stay well my friend and thanks for the help.
I had sciatica nerve pain....doctor said u must never sit on a bed, so we got a recliner....he also told me to do a few stretches and lose weight...I went for tennis classes and lost a couple of kilos....now I m free of pain....exercise and losing weight is the only permanent solution to sciatica pain....if u sit more, the pain is likely to come back....
These ankle pumps work wonders! I have done all sorts of exersices, they all work more or less for just a few minutes. But after 3 sessions with the ankle pumps i took a painfree walk for the first time in 3 months! Thank you for this video! It's a life saver! ❤🎉
Thank you. I have been struggling for almost three months with sciatica. I am getting ready to go on my anniversary trip up north. Sitting for long periods, driving and sleeping are my pain triggers. I just did the nerve glides lying down. My leg has been hurting all day and now i have some relief.
Thanks for sharing . Have to try these to see if i can heal some of this pain i got going on ~ you helped me out a lot on those exercises on the foot one a few years ago. its help and cleared that up really well. i couldnt even walk at one point. big Thanks on that one ~
Type in search how to relieve nerve pain, this is the first video to pop up. Thank God for you my guy!! Almost instant relief. I haven't slept in days! My one year old started kicking my ass cause I was in so much pain. Went to the Chiro two days ago and although it felt like it gave me some relief, I still didn't sleep that night. Shawty on her way to pick up some nerve meds from her pops and I started looking up ways and found this video. Thank you!
Thank you, for the first time in years I was able to sleep on my right hip without any pain. The exercise lasted for three days and I only did it once. I will be using your site everyday.
You are a life saver doctor. I feel like to dead with this pain i met doctors did MRI scans for my leg and finally found my nerve has strucked. These helped me to recovery the pain.
That first position in the chair is a no go. When the sciatica was kicking my tail, it was very painful to sit in a chair like that. All the other ones were doable!
I want to leave a comment here and let you know that I hurt my back earlier this morning. So I searched RU-vid c. What relief I could get and I want to tell you that this morning I was not even able to bend over. I was in a lot of pain. I did 2 treatments which you Laid out in this video and within the first 4 hours. My back was about 65% better. I'm now getting ready to go to bed. And it's almost back to normal, gonna do another few treatments. I'm sure by tomorrow this will be a thing of the past. Pretty astonished that just these basic stretches that you suggested can relieve such pain that sciatic brings great video. There's a lot of garbage videos out there. This is not one of them highly recommended.. Lastly, I run my own business. And this injury would have made me lose quite a bit of money If I was not able to work. I'm 100% confident I will be able to work tomorrow and work effectively. Again, thank you so much..
Your method works . Give yourself a pat on the back. My tendons or nerves were tight as frozen elastic . I did not go hard at 1st , because i was very tight in lower back & legs . but i did mange to do your exorcise . it did loosen thoe tightness up . I will do it every day till i get free movement again
This is the second time I have gotten sciatica and this time is the worse. Legs are numb, barely walk without legs give out. Can't even sit on the toilet and wipe myself. See what I'm thinking a lot of people haven't been through sciatica and have no clue how bad it hurts? It sounds easy until you have to do it
Review update! Still having pain and had to get steroid injection! I guess it was too early for the 1st review😢 Have been suffering from sciatica with much pain in my right leg for about 10 days.. I normally average 10,000 steps a day, but since this started, I can't be on my feet much at all. Decided to look on RU-vid and thanks so much for this video. Did the last part of video on my back and almost instantly felt some relief yesterday. Have continued those exercises today and doing even better. Thank you so much! I have a Dr appointment scheduled in 8 days and right now I think I will be able to cancel it. Again, Thank You 😊
I appreciate that you updated your comment. So many people rush to leave a comment straight after doing the exercises they find on youtube but hardly any leave a message after a cooling off period of even a few days to see if it actually helped long term or not.
Thank you for posting this. I just started having sciatic nerve pain a couple months ago after starting grad school online. I’m always at my desk 😢. I hope these exercises help. Mine flares up when I sit or lay on my back. What is a reasonable timeframe to see some pain reduction?
My situation seems to prefer the laying down version, and then I can also put my hands behind my head to pull my neck into flexion slightly to feel the stretch.. thank you so much for making this video, I'm surprised I have relief so quickly and I'm sure if I do this slightly throughout the days and weeks, it should help. I also believe in strengthening the muscles in the butt, especially the gluteus medius was perhaps some side hydrants. to put some meat on in the area as to protect it. another move I have learned from a chiropractor is while in a seated position, roll my shoulders back 5 or 10 times and then with my elbows up and out to the side, and my thumbs towards my chest, twist my back while seated back and forth slowly, while also twisting my head with the back, it often gets a nice pop in my lower spine and gives relief. perhaps helping spinal mobility and lubricating the discs
Tried the chair method, and couldn’t get the leg and torso upright enough so I started the standing method with a box(6inches tall), but just after doing 10 or so reps I can do a sit to stand with minimal shock waves down my left leg 👍🏽 I’ll update in a month or so to see if it keeps getting better. Thank you sir.
please update 😢 i been dealing with this pain for months and i'm only 22, it's taking a serious toll on me, i only found this video 2day please update 😢
@@anti_60been a journey. This is by far the slowest recovery I’ve had to deal with. I’m almost 4 months in and it’s better. My gait is normal throughout the day, but my legs will twitch randomly, pain in hip, and left buttock. I am able to lift light things now but don’t twist still or lift anything meaningful. Most importantly I don’t need to take so much ibeprofen. But I’m still going through it. After all this time I’m probably 75% healed. I still wake up every morning in pain but after walking around a little bit it gets better each morning.
@@anti_60the best thing I’ve learned from another poster is don’t try to do to much when your body is in the inflammation phase. Don’t do to much exercise, you will pay for it later when it hits. I did PT for a few weeks and was doing well, one extercise (bridges) I struggled hard to do them due to muscle weakness from my nerve. But I did it, it set me back two weeks because of inflammation. The next day it hurt so bad, worse than any pain I’d experienced. So now I’m more careful not to work out to hard. Just back supported work and lot of walking and laying flat.
Thank you so much. This video helped me a lot. I was not able to move. After following his stretching exercises I feel so much relieved. Thank you once again.
I swear, my pain is so bad, I would agree to amputation if that would work. My husband does things to distract me mentally, and it is effective at least for a few minutes. I've tried ALL these stretches, but at most they help minimally during my hardest pain. But nothing stops it - not nerve pain meds (gabapentin), muscle relaxers (tizanadine), nor even controlled substances (such as morphine) when it gets too be too bad. These exercises during the worst, though, really helped.
Been dealing with heel pain (both feet) for 10 years due to sciatica. It hurts so bad to stand. Is that common to have heel pain? This sucks. I got a little relief from your video, thank you. 🙏
These are terrific! I have seen many techniques here that you walked through with specific do and don’t - very helpful. I liked the video about identifying week verses tight hip flexors. Thanks for your Chanel!
Thank you for the guidance, I sit for long hours and developed excruciating pain in my hamstrings. To a point where my calf feel like they are on fire. I’m going to give this a shot and let you know how I am feeling.
