The first carrier transfer video was inconclusive as it was too busy, so let's replicate the results in a bigger, but hopefully much quieter system.
Results are in: carrier transfers to market sales works. You can load up cheaply elsewhere and provide in demand goods to a destination market just as if you were doing a long haul trade route.
