No music or memes this time, just the grand finale of the fdev-sactioned xenophobia festival. If you'd like to see how we got to this point, I also recorded that! • [Elite: Dangerous] The...
The update was 30GB, but the game size increased by less than 1GB. I checked before and after the update. I wonder if the new ship is in the files already.
The Thargoids became quite complacent at around the 7 minute mark for me - spent the last 3 minutes on 20% hull flying just off the Turanis hull and wasn't until the pylons went crazy that I realised the tike was up - rode that wave out of there, was amazing, made all my failed ax combat attempts feel worth it - phenomenal!! Thanks for providing the wonderful footage, muchly appreciated!
@@haikei888 Elite has selective physics.. you can black yourself out with maneuvers in a lance but getting roflsmacked by an exploding titan is an eyes wide open experience 😂
@@haikei888 Romain Grosjean pulled 67Gs in his BIG crash and only hurt his wrists and one ankle if memory serves. He also stayed in a fire at the limit of the safety regulations for his suit for 28 seconds. The suit was rated for 12 seconds at that temperature. Both the human body and the engineering of safety equipment we have today are amazing. One would think that would be even more so in a futuristic ship with a trained pilot of the federation.
It's refreshing to see you back. It's a sign that the health of the game is improving. I was so happy to get ganked at the crystal shards recently. Elite would be a boring game without guys like you making it Dangerous. I was scared of Open the first year I started playing. Now that I have built my empire, I fear nothing. I keep my "Report crimes" off. I am neither a ganker or a care bear. o7 CMDR! More of your exciting content. Please!
I managed to get a recording myself, my first time actually visiting a Titan. Ended up there an hour early so I was just helping a few other pilots by launching Repair limpets at them, then find a nicely sized asteroid to hide my Cutter behind until the countdown hit the last minute. Nearly slammed into a Krait when the big pulse hit lol. Worth it. Those sirius heatsinks saved my ass, in the instance I was in, the Thargoids were out in force, seems most others got lucky with the spawns.
ED is such a cool game, people are really sleeping on it. Starcitizen who? Starfield where? ED has been doing what these games are not even close to for years.
The funny thing is you guys think you destroyed it. That was clearly an FSD activation. You just got blown away by the power of it. Frontier can make up the lore that we destroyed it. They said the same about the original games. Yet here we are once again facing the green menace.
Something the game doesn't tell you even exists: Enhanced Performance Thrusters. You have to buy them from the engineering base of Felicity Farseer or Professor Palin. They only come in size 2 and 3 (so only useful on small ships), but can then be engineered with G5 dirty drives and drive distributors (normally you want drag drives on dirty drives but small ships like drive distributors for some reason)
Considering that the amount of players who participated in the attack on Tita...Teranis is about 6,500 - out of what? 1 million+ sold games (yes, I know, a lot of them are alts), I think there are quite a lot of uninterested players. ;) And while I am not one of them, I did only casually engage with the Thargoids, and the amount (and quality) of the grind necessary to acquire the proper equipment for this gameplay is probably the most uninteresting part of the whole affair. To be fair: visiting the Guardian and Thargoid sites to unlock the equipment is not boring per se. It's just the repetitiveness that make it mundane after a while. It's at least more interesting then the engineering grind, although unlocking the engineers themself is ~kinda~ interesting as well.... again, the repetition is what makes it boring. I think FDev tried to create gameplay suited for a single player game in a multiplayer game here, which does not really work when you have to make sure that everyone can participate BUT noone must shake up the entire galaxy at the same time. You can not have your cake AND eat it, too. ;) o7
@@thespectator1243 Um, what you talking about lol, you didnt have to visit Guardian site ever to experience this (plus I wouldnt even call guardians a grind, that actually is kinda a neat content), same with thargoid sites.
@@thespectator1243for myself, I am VERY interested, but the effort involved to engineer a ship that won’t explode immediately just isn’t fun for me. The grind is such a barrier 😢
