my wife had me helping around the house! by the time i got to the game, i had horrible luck getting interdicted, one of those caustic mines exploded in my face, but i made it thru the maelstrom, boosting towards the titan and i saw the whole thing from the asteroid belt... this was by far the most epic gaming experience ever. we all fought so hard to bring that thing down. i lost appx 100 million in rebuys. even gankers were swarmed by the bugs. this is the only time ive loved playing in open. we were constantly helping strangers repair. more of this please Fdev

I have been looking for the right words to express my absolute shock at what Frontier has achieved with this event, but you said it best. No cut-scene, live for thousands of random players - for this player, in glorious, full 3-dimensional VR. There has NEVER been anything like it anywhere. But to have it in a game anyone can buy for just a few dollars is nothing short than the pinnacle of game publishing achievements. I missed the event "in person" because I made a mistake converting UTC to my time zone. But I got to watch it live on the Buur Pit Discord, which was amazing. I'll be there for the next one!

I was there for four of the hearts dropping, including the last one, in OPEN no less. I was there for the final meltdown explosion as well, in the AXI instance, with numerous other independent pilots. Absolutely astounding. I can't believe they managed to pull it off so smoothly, so seamlessly. It was literally like being inside of a movie, except as you said, all of it was in-game. Discord channels were totally bonkers. It was an incredible time. Looking forward to buying some celebratory ARX, if for no other reason than to "vote with my dollars" so that this sort of thing keeps coming!

Oh and while the visuals were certainly stunning, the SOUND. I found the audio most impressive actually when the last heart dropped; the Titan let out this wail, considerably different from the other sounds it makes, and for a moment, I experienced a flash of sadness for it. The scattered explosions for the subsequent 24 hours echoing through the asteroids...jaw dropping stuff.

I had just gotten online when the final heart was destroyed. Was on my way to Taranis when I got the message that it was in meltdown. So glad I managed to watch the explosion from the front row. Started my attack runs on Leigong now.

Good point - when viewing one of the next seven titan deaths, if you're in a multicrew vessel, be sure to invite commanders to telepresence in - especially explorers who can't make it back.

I wasn't fast enough to do the assault itself, and when I finally got off work, the final heart was already destroyed. But I was there for the explosion, and I feel lucky for that! I was streaming on discord for a few friends who couldn't make it in-game, and we all audibly gasped at the final explosion.

It's been a long time coming, but it looks like a new chapter in the Thargoid war in Humanity's favor! I wasn't there sadly, but you guys keep feeding me amazing footage and edits of this insane event! Managed to get there for a couple attack runs on the last heart, the life happened on Friday, but watched the fireworks on Saturday firsthand. It was truly Epic! A great foe has fallen, and history was made. Befitting of the franchise's 40th anniversary, it was monumental, solemn and awesome. o7 CMDRs!

The assault on Taranis and its obliteration on Saturday was by far the most satisfying moment of any videogame I have ever experienced. I was pleased to be involved in the attack and blasted 1000s of round of the enzyme tipped MC rounds into the exerted core and it was always thrilling and exhilarating. Sadly, I was stranded by the roadside next to a broken van when the live event happened on Saturday, but was lucky enough to be able to watch the AXI livestream and saw the events in real time. Even my other half couldn't resist looking over my shoulder to see what all the fuss was about. A mighty O7 to Frontier. How they managed to deliver such an epic conclusion to the tale of that first stargoid with only a small bunch of devs in a live multiplayer game, I'll never understand.

I only managed to reach Taranis for the very first time with only about 40 seconds to spare on the timer. While a shame I didn't get to take part in the assault itself, thus no rewards, it was still an amazing experience to get to witness. A giant o7 to Fdev and to the community. Hopefully I'll get the chance to earn some decals from some of the other Titans, but just being witness to the fall of the first is reward enough for me.

I tried to get in to do damage to the core, but being new at it, I failed twice to get in. It was a steep learning curve for someone who's never touched Thargoid combat at all. Still, I finally managed to get in, but only after the Titan was critically damaged, and before the Saturday detonation, just to see what was there. Then, on Saturday, with just a few seconds to go, I was half way through the caustic cloud when Taranis blew, throwing me, and everyone else, out of the cloud. It was glorious! I've since had a couple of full-on runs at Leigong now, joining in with other Cmdr's in hitting the core, so I will at least get something for that. They say paintjobs and a decal, so I'm told, with rumors of ship kits too. I just need to make sure I hit each of the remaining Titans as they start being taken down too.

Being present for several heart destructions and then being on deck for the final kaboom has been nothing short of thrilling. And, while I am currently taking a short break to farm engineering materials, you can bet that I'll be joining my fellow CMDRs in the XSF for future strikes against all 7 remaining Titans. o7 CMDRs, Wing Up and Strike, and Glory to Mankind

I wanted to be there but bad time for me so watched Mechan's video later in the day; spectacular! Got me interested in joining the fight again so I can take part in at least 1 of these monsters first hand. Few reasons to thank Frontier for anything the last few years, but I would say congrats for this awesome conclusion...... finally! Unfortunately, I wasn't wrong about exposing that thermal core, (I guessed about a thousand times when we first found out this discovery.) So I'm pretty close, ouch! At least if enough peeps join-in on the fight with enough active instances simultaneously active, each Titan should go down every few days maybe????

I stayed away from going up against a titan focusing more on the spire sites but just had to go and see the demise of taranis. and what a journey to get there! got caught up most of the day with running errands for people then I get in game giving myself 2 hours to make 7 jumps and what i thought may be a few attempts getting used to the thargoid pulse neutraliser not realising it wasnt needed anymore. make it through to the titan in open and even though the comms not being able to keep up was a huge sign it was full of commanders the scanner panel lit up like a new years parade and it was breath taking, a swirling sea of commanders and foe all lit with explosions and the cacophany of sound. few movies have done it better, then i got blown apart by a fellow commander lol, no worries still an hour and a half left, no sir, not so easy this time, three interdictions then my joystick went and gave in, few taps strategically with the side of my cup and away i went again, got back to the titan and got taken down by some now seriously aggrieved killer sprouts, finally made it back to the front row with 48 seconds left on the clock. What followed as others have said was arguably the best piece of ingame content of any large game in a very long time, certainly with the sheer number of commanders present and it being realtime not cutscene. Now i have to go and help take down the others as seeing one up close, thats content that no sane person should choose to not experience, well done Fdev and well done Buur and Co for always presenting content in such an enjoyable fashion, Ps i must have got lucky i only got thrown 125km away :D

Whoa, that looked incredible. Maybe I should have delayed going on an extended exploration trip a few weeks. I wouldn't have had time this weekend, anyway, but I hope those other titans last a few months and I get to see the last one when I'm back. Maybe I should make a second account just for watching a titan die... but I fear the engineering grind to get a stealthy ship that can watch from the sidelines.

This was the coolest thing i have ever seen in elite. Glory to mankind! 7 more to go. o7 Additionally, i felt as if the assault on Taranis had no big event associated with it. People went to attack it, then more followed, then more followed, then even more followed, and soon over half the community was assaulting it. Absolutely incredible.

damn i would love to have seen this with my VR headset. hopefully i will get to see one of the others. fingers crossed there will always be a constant stream of at least 1 titan to attack in the game, however if not and ultimately it is going to go down in history, then i hope FD add the event into a replayable training exercise along with the other short gameplay snippets outside of the main game.

I was involved in the main assault on Taranis, i trained other AXI pilots on torpedo bombing runs and showed prowess in doing the titan gameplay solo... i loved this. Frontier definitely recaptured my attention.😊

I missed the assault, so my first view of a titan was perhaps 20 seconds before it exploded, I so nearly missed all of it. And as always you manage to catch all the details I missed in the hectic moment.

The closing comments on this bring me to a point of hopeful suggestion to F Dev. 7 more titans to follow similar fates, it would be good if the times of their final throws be staggered to take into account the many players in other time zones than UK. This event happened at 6 AM Australian and even though I did a small amount of damage the night before I could not watch the spectacle live. If anyone from Frontier reads this, maybe take this suggestion on board !!

I havent been in game for 809 days.. I missed this. I dont think I am missing the next however. trying to hook back up with my group. "the Siverbacks" They have been fighting thargoids for years. Very cool, you have me wanting to see the one in HIP 8887 fall. I also want to send a message to frontier If you want to get previously VERY active players back. THIS is what we need. Not more grinding.

My estimated time of return is next autumn. Pity I missed that fun to try. I went to the Void when those 8 things arrived, because game was constantly timeout on this fights. Maybe they fixed it already, but I will never know at this killing rate :D

Time to start on the next one - Titan Leigong. Some progress has been already made on first ring. If i understand correctly, for the other Titans, we will need to reduce their influence so as to be able to make an effective attack on the Titan it self.

Sadly couldnt go there to watch it I simply dont have a ship build for thargoid fighting.. So It would have been suicide but im happy to see it here on youtube.. most have been a pretty cool sight... Not forgetting the sound effekts :-) Well done frontier gotta say this looks amacing
