Love my XR, and would upgrade if I need another trainer. It's good to see the development of something really good from Elite. Since they slowed down the monthly release of various new trainers they can focus efforts on a really solid single new product
Still using a Direto from 2017, flawlessly. Just installed a new belt in 2020. This winter its maybe time for an upgrade. The support of ELITE here in Italy is just insane. Its really good.
They're all on the path to converge into an indistinguishable offering, to be honest. They all pack a punch for max gradient, work well in SIM and ERG, auto calibrate, quiet (enough) etc. Ride feel the Kickr and Justo are similar given their weighty flywheels. Gradient changes on the Kickr being a little smoother given the design (electromagnetic) vs stepper motor (Justo). The Neo units still feel just a little different due to their simulated flywheel. I feel the Neo is a little more punishing right at threshold in ERG if you back off the pedals.
You didn't go too much into details about the squishy feet - what kind of comfort gains are we looking at here? Compared to a static trainer, that same static trainer on a rocker plate, and other products like the tacx rail thingies? Lastly, what is their support like? For e.g my cycleops h2 has been pretty good, however saris' support in Aus. is complete garbage so I will not buy another unit of theirs.
There's not really much to cover. It wiggles. Just a little. Comfort is a subjective thing. It's no rocker plate. I don't use a rocker plate. I really don't like how they feel out of the saddle. They also take up a LOT of room. RE: Saris support. Nobody knows. That company is in financial difficulties. I'd look at alternative product until they can find a new owner.
I have justo + rizer. I am having some vibration from the trainer during resistance changes other than that it is good but I wouldn't buy it again. I am planning to buy a kickr v6 in soon and I will see the real difference. No youtube reviewer is 100% fair about their content when they compare brands, they even avoid comparing directly the models from different brands. So I couldn't find a very good comparison between them but I believe kickr v6 will be much more smooth than Justo because it uses electromagnets for managing resistance vs the stepper motor in Justo which I believe causes vibrations during the resistance changes. I am more than happy with Rizer. I would buy kickr v6 + rizer :)) Because I think Rizer is more adjustable, durable and stable.
Hello, can you help me with something? While cycling with elite justo, I notice that the display power meter goes up and down a lot. For example, if I want to move 200 watts, it will display like this: 210, 180, 120, 240, 210, 140. Is this normal?
@@gplama I'd be keen to know as it might be an upgrade to put on for my Direto XR. Plus with bub no. 1 on the way, need to help dampen that sound a little on hard wooden floors!
If they are compatible, I’d be down for the upgrade. I bought two XR trainers in the recent sale because we’re moving from Europe to North America this summer. We’ve got wood floors in one of our houses and my wife is going to make me dampen the vibration
I have a weird issue with my Justo, I mean I’m not sure if it’s a problem so that’s why I’m asking. Basically, sometimes there’s a noticeable vibration from the trainer that goes through the frame and to the handlebars, so it’s quite annoying when it happens. It’s not the end of the world of course, but still it makes the ride less comfortable. Yesterday I rode a rolling course on Watopia and I noticed that the vibration appears when the grade changes, so it’s likely something to do with the trainer resistance adjustment. Does anyone have the same thing? Otherwise I guess it might be a defect or something, in that case I’ll try to reach out to Elite support.
I am having the same issue during resistance changes. It happens only on flattish routes. On steep climbs it is incredibly smooth. Actually it is not so disturbing but it makes the ride feel very unrealistic for a moment and annoys me. Basically it reminds me that you are riding on a machine 😅 I am thinking to buy a kickr but as I see many people having similar issues with kickr too.
Shane, tried the Justo (without putting in the wheel plastic piece) and the cadence in always at 70rpm, not working, do you know what it may be happening? Thanks!
Why on elite videos they claim we need to order a special tool from them? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c92_9m3EAmY.htmlsi=NyUJQQmSTrNlcu3o
Thanks I will pick up a 17mm wrench. I was confused watching their video. I placed an order for that special tool that they described in their video, going see if I can get refund.
@@gplama Elite Trainers have a history of low street prices in Europe. I bought my Direto at €599 and my Direto X-RT at €649. If The Justo will also have a lower street price than suggested, then it will be a really good alternative to a Kickr. And most likely my next trainer. ;) It's too bad that it's not the same for you in Australia.

@@MrSuicycle 730 EUR for Justo now in Poland. Similar to Kickr Core.
Thank you for the review. Could you please compare erg mode on Justo vs. Direto XR. I have Direto XR and I am not happy with ERG mode and dont't use it any more. Is there any progess in Justo in this field?
I've asked Ray, but I'll ask here to help the algorithm, does this trainer still suffer the "Elite effect" of delay in zwift supertuck, so damn annoying at times.
@@gplama for group rides the supertuck is nerfed so it doesn't really matter - but in races, especially going over that little kicker 1km after the boxhill banner, having the "Elite effect" delay can make or break holding the pack. It's already a treacherous spot as it is 🤦♂️ many top riders ditch the XR because it ruins their races.
Nice new features for Elite at least. But damn, it's fugly. With Wahoo doing some serious discounting atm on the Kickr v5, and potentially doing so in the longer term with market saturation they're going to have some serious issues pushing this. Maybe not the best time for a new trainer.
Must be said, whoever is the director of design at Elite must like brutalism and bauhaus a lot. This is clearly the inbreed child of a smart trainer, a heater and a portable radio from the 90s. 😂 Full disclaimer I have a suito and in general love their products. But between this and that riser of theirs...
