@@yianpap6093 It is pretty loud compared to the direct-drive models. With proper pressure and slick tire it is within reason (I am using in the flat, other people in the same room). For long sessions highly recommend headphones though just to cut down on fatigue.
@@arlokkkk Was buying it in Europe (I converted the price after the tax), from a rather small bike shop. The demand is very high and supply is low so I got in touch with the shop directly to ask about supply times/etc and was quick to snatch one when they become available. They become more or less sold out after an hour. If you live in Europe or have and access to Decathlon stores they suppose to have them in stock this fall/winter (although projected prize is higher (around 500 USD)).
You're up-ing the intro game my friend. This is both hilarious and also really well done! Love it. I still think the my favorite was when you did the sleeping baby with the trainer. I fell hard for that one. So good.
@@Dcrainmaker Honestly, I think Ray was delaying this review because he wanted to find a toaster as similar to the TUO as possible for the video :) But it was worth it, it had me perplexed for a sec as I opened this video 5 mins after I woke up, well done!
Hi, I bought this turbo on the weekend and wouldn't have been able to set it up so quickly without your video. I would have been better off setting fire to the instruction manual that came with it and genuinely found your review infinitely more useful. I did a 100 mile ride on it on Sunday and it behaved impeccably. Many thanks.
Really nice review, thank you ! I managed to get my hands on one, I'm going to set it up now, and I feel blessed that you went through that manual before we did :p
It's unfortunate that Elite haven't came up with this trainer at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It would have sold like hot cakes (toasts).
Great video. I really enjoyed the toaster puns ^^ Now this thing would look great in my room and probably feel great, but the noise made me doubt a bit. Living in a flat, would you rather suggest buying the sexy toaster or an low end direct drive trainer? ;) Anyways, great review! All the best from Germany, stay healthy :)
Another reason to use a wheel on trainer would be if you were running campag 12 speed you would have to add another (about) £200/$250 to the total cost for a replacement free hub and a 12 speed campag cassette.

I thought I had subscribed eons ago until you told me to whack the like button, as I obviously couldn't deny the apparent entertainment value of the toaster or the channel, yet I discovered that my subscription button was somehow off. That mistake was promptly corrected. Promise it won't happen again. ;)
Wow... I'm happy - you have the same Vacummaster as we use :) Great cooler. I'm happy I have now Suito - instead of Tuo. I had ELITE Qubo Smart+ and unfortunately, it died after 1,5 years. If you drive from time to time - great trainer - if more often - better invest into a direct one. I managed to get Suito as the replacement - paying the difference in price between TUO and SUITO - as ELITE was going to replace for this one. It is good we have good customer service here in the Netherlands... Just to add valid comment - if you ride regularly with higher power than 200W on average - the tire is an extra cost. We had one tire which exploded (indoor trainer tire). Then we used ELITE indoor trainer tire - this one was looking nice but was creating a lot of dust... - at the price of 30 Euros This dust got inside the Qubo (they used plastic parts for magnet movement - sic!)- this dust blocked the magnets - so no resistance change... we cleaned - was working for some time - and again... and so on ... at the end, Qubo died. TUO was proposed replacement - but knowing how it is built inside - probably same as Qubo - we asked for an upgrade to direct drive. And this was a great decision. And yes - I love Italy - I drove Multipla in the past... the real one ;)
I see the srm x-power in this video(Nice blue colour!) and they look close too. Can't wait to see the Review, I finally received my set a month or so ago and it seems to be 5-10% more power than my Wahoo Kickr Core :( Sadly no third power meter to compare.
I'm a direct drive trainer fan... but for anyone wondering, I'm upgrading my bike to 11speed (from 10) and it sucks having to buy two cassettes (one for wheel one for trainer)... especially when Ultegra ones are $189NZD each!
Love how you make this review fun from the start to the end. Anyways, I'm still torn between grabbing the TUO or the SNAP v2... Also, do you by any chance got an ELITE COPERTON trainer tyre? Would love to know how it affects the noise, accuracy (sim & erc), warm-up.
Only someone with DC-level wattage has a cassette that small. Oh, and love the humor in the video; sports tech needs a constant deflation of self-importance.
Myself and many others face issues with this trainer not calibrating on Zwift as it doesn’t actually recognise the speed accurately. Also showing me as averaging 6w/kg which seems a bit wild as I’m no athlete.
My KICKR SNAP always reads real high for the first 5-10 mins (worse in the cold). It means than an ERG mode Sufferfest session warm up you are putting out near 200w when you are supposed to be doing under 150... I didn’t realise this was the problem until I got a pair of Assiomas and saw the light! I thought it was just a ‘shut up legs’ situation 🤣
I cannot for the life of me figure this unit out. I have 700c road bike wheels and tires. I have the unit setup EXACTLY like yours looks (with the unit attached to the frame at the REAR.) but I cannot for the life of me figure out how my bike is supposed to fit in. When the tire hits the Elastogel, my axle is pretty far away from the clamp... not sure what to do as I don't believe the wheel is larger than 700mm... 622mm I believe.
Really helpful and informative video, thank you. It's on offer in the UK for £99 sterling. Circa 120USD? I'm guessing you think it's a deal at this price? It's my first venture into indoor training. Would you advise a blue training tyre to avoid wear?
Does it make a difference if I use my power meter to measure power and the Tuo to manage resistance? In this scenario does the trainer perform as well as it's pricier competition?
I am a senior rider who is contemplating purchasing a smart trainer. Being a newbie I have several questions. I own an old roubaix that I would like to convert to a permanent trainer. I also have a garmin 830 and the garmin pedal power meter. I use a HR strap. I would like to know if I can used the training workouts available in Garmin Connect. Would I be able to run the workouts directly or do I have to use an app such as Swift to be able to run the workouts? My budget is under $600. Is the Tuo the best choice or another trainer would serve the same purpose? Eventually I'd try Swift or something like that . I would be very grateful on any response to these questions. Thank you for sharing your expertisewith the you Tube community.
Great video as always. I live in an apartment here in Amsterdam. There’s a poor isolation, I have been looking to buy a smart trainer and prepare myself for a winter. Do you think enough matting can solve the noise and vibration issues so that the neighbors won’t complain? The only option I see now is to get a direct drive trainer (tacx flux s).
@@Dcrainmaker OK....I had the finger on the buy button until I got to the noise part...I know you mentioned in one of the comments that you will try the Kickr Snap again to have a more direct picture of how hey compare, but in your Snap review I don't recall you making as many comments about noise, leading me to believe the Snap is quieter. For me noise is the number one criterion since I do indeed live in an old apartment with wooden floors. Shame because I liked the looks of the TUO better, as well as he fact that it's much lighter. Also the Snap does not come with a thru axle adaptor (I need one) and you have to pay quite a bit extra for that. But most importantly, that adaptor does not seem to be available right now...I'm new to cycling and not quite comfortable with taking the wheel on and off all the time, plus not sure it's as easy on my hybrid bike as it is on road bikes. I'm disappointed now, was really looking forward to have an indoor exercise machine...
Sounds a lot louder than the Kickr Snap. How much of the noise is the trainer versus the tire? In my experience, treaded tires are noisy and smooth tires are quiet on the trainer.
Since you dont recomend this for an apt, what would you? I live in a poorly built wood floor apt and just getting into training. I dont have a ton of space, dont want something too noisy and I am a beginner.
This is a design aesthetic upgrade, from something you can put away after using opposed to the big. Probably more aimed at those who want to put the trainer or store the trainer out of sight before/after use. Opposed to the big direct trainers which are more suited to home gym, room set ups.
Someone please mod the Tuo to an actual working toaser while retaining its indoor trainer capabilities. (I know this is almost impossible, but still, would be interesting to see how hard could it be)
Hey man, im sorry before, if my comment is irrelevant to this video Im about to buy mavic air 2. I've seen your videos about it, but i have some questions, i hope you have time to answer this, because your answer will affects my decision to buy mavic air 2 (forgive me if my questions kinda long and my grammar is bad) When flying mavic air 2, did we always have to point the antenna to the drone ? Like, it has occusync 2.0 right ? So there should be no problem about the signal, (because occusync is unlike the wifi transmission drone which always depend with the signal between remote and drone, so we should always point it to the drone) right ? Or its not that simple ? Lets just say, if there's 4 scenario : 1.If i flying it while facing backward with my remote against the drone 2.If i flying it outside, but the drone through tall buildings, and i flying the drone around that tall building until the connection between the drone and remote is blocked by those building 3.If i flying my drone when im at forest (full of trees) so the signal between remote and drone will have so much interference by the trees 4.If i am inside my bedroom or my car while my drone is outside, where signal between drone and remote will completely blocked by thick wall or anything With those 4 each screnario, can i still control it until long range (lets just say more than 1 km) can i still do that ? Or if i did that the signal will get interference or lost instantly ? Did you ever did that kind of test ? This my other question is kinda had the same concept. Based on your experiences after flying your mavic air 2 so far, did you ever encounter signal interference ? If yes, is it happen often or rarely ? And at what scenario that makes you get signal interference ? Thanks if you want to take your time to read my comment, id really appreciate that ! 🙏
Any video on how to mount a thru axle 148mm MTB in the Tuo? I'm a complete idiot when it comes to bikes so I want to see how difficult it is to use with my bike before purchasing.
Possibly a stupid question but with wheel on trainers using wheel speed to calculate power, how does that effect lower geared bikes like mtb or gravel bikes?
Do you have any plans on buying the not yet released "Breakaway bike" that has been seen on indiegogo? Its a portable Stationary bike with power pedal options so it can be used for zwift and TR.
It´s great fun with this trainer. But I like it even better, using Apps - like Zwif or WattChallenge (only 6 Euro). My daughters make races with them all day long :-)
Question, I'm setting one up now and I plan on using my race road bike 25-28c and my gravel bike with 38-40c. I'm starting with the gravel bike and with the stock config like you have, it seem like the tire size will not fit. So, if I move the unit to the other position will that also take the road bike 28c? or will this be one or the other type set up? I hope not. Thanks for the help.
My Calibration isn't working anyhow.. do you have any tips? I'ven paddeling like 20 minutes on Zwift - nothing.. and on the my E-Training-App I always get the same message that the calibration has failed.. would be nice if you have any tips
I have seen the instruction to pump your tire to 110PSI. But the max pressure on my tire (road touring tire) is 85. Does it matter? If I have mine at my tire's max pressure, is that sufficient?
I’d recommend using a dedicated training Tyre. I initially used a normal Road tyre, which I had used outside for the year, it wore really quickly and after a month or so of moderate use it exploded whilst I was going up the Volcano KOM in Zwift! Using a training tyre is also much quieter than using a standard tyre.
Just setup my new Tuo. I am getting a scraping sound when the resistance engages. Is this normal? Also, does it measure cadence or do you need a separate Bluetooth cadence sensor?
I have the Tuo too and I see a cadence on Zwift. But it measures always about 20 to 40 rpm lower than it actually is. I think this is because there is no measure cadence and it is just an estimation from the other values.
Hi did you get that noise sorted, got a tuo a couple weeks started making a grinding sound when start pedaling an letting the wheel freewheel to a stop an slightly when gradient increased.
