It's amazing what Eliza did after Alexander passed, and what she was able to accomplish despite being a women in the 1800's at the time of his passing. Fun fact: the orphanage still stands to this day just under a different name but think of all the children that were given a home because Eliza along with some tiger women founded the orphanage.

Apparently after the duel Burr said "I would have aimed for his heart if it weren't for the morning mist." It was kinda stupid of Hamilton not to aim for Burr because he was the one challenged to the duel so Burr was aiming to kill/injure him. I'm not exactly sur oof this is accurate but this is all I know about it
Fun facts about Peggy: She died at age 42. She had three children, only one of which survived to being an adult. Peggy eloped, like Angelica. Alexander was with Peggy when she died, but Eliza wasnt. Peggy had been sick 2 or 3 years before she died. When the Schuyler mansion was under attack, Angelica and Eliza were both pregnant, and fled. Peggy was the only one that remembered the fourth sister and when to get her. She faced off with several Tories. When one stepped in front of her with a musket and demanded to know where her father was, Peggy responded he had gone to alarm the town. The Tories left, so Peggy basically saved all three of her sisters, and I'm guessing some of her brother's, lives. LET'S GO PEGGY. Edit: It’s been 2 years and I’m still getting replies, wild. Yes, she had a lot of brothers. Also most of this is alleged & yes her name was Margarita or something, Peggy was a nickname. This song still slaps tho
Fun fact: When Phillip passed away Alexander's first born daughter, Angelica Hamilton, pretended like he was still alive. She was very close to him. A few years later, when Hamilton died, she went mad and she still played the songs on the piano that she sang with her father. Eventually, Eliza got to old to take care of her and she stayed at a friend's house until her death.
Actually, no one dies "from memory loss," but maybe she was suffering form some form of dementia toward the end and she died from something else, like a heart attack.
Eliza would’ve been proud. She used the rest of her life to tell Alexander’s story. She could’ve despised him after what he did but she didn’t. She kept his story alive. She did everything in her power. She was a strong woman.
She would also probably be disappointed that the Government did away with the orphanage. But proud that she kept her husband's memory alive and that his story is being told.

Well actually after he was shot, he died the day after the duel.. So He would have definitely had more to say to Eliza. And the letter at the beginning of this song was the last letter he wrote to Eliza.
Plus all the debt that alex left her with she still managed to create so many great things and at the end of the day she was the one who told Alexanders story without telling her own she was the most kind selfless person in the entire musical at the end of the day no one really talks about the best of wives and best of women as much as she deserves to be talked about

I love how after hamilton died Eliza spent the rest of her life trying to make people remember him,and ya know how at the end eliza gasps? I can't even imagine just how much she cared for him. I'm sure it was slightly exaggerated for the sake of the song but she worked so hard to make sure her love wasn't forgotten and I think that is a level of love not everyone reaches
To be honest she could have been apart of politics and help with the founding like Martha Washington but she didn’t really like the spotlight so she inside helped her husband, I think she said something about be a little bit frustrated cause her husband wasn’t getting enough recognition for something he did I’m not sure exactly but it goes along those lines
People keep going on about how Eliza spent her entire life trying to share Alexander's story that she didn't get to write her own. Little do you know, Eliza wrote her own story while telling Alexander's. Think about it, she raised funds for the Washington Monument, she spoke out against slavery, and opened the first private orphanage in New York, she was the living example of kindness and selflessness. So many things that are around today started with Eliza. You can't tell me Eliza didn't write her own story.
That's half true. In telling Alexander's story she tells her own story in parts, too. However, she was never a main character in his story, which means she was never someone discussed to the degree of Washington and such. As a result, we don't even know how she reacted to the scandal. We know she forgave him, but the idea that her initial reaction was to burn all the letters and get angry is just a theory because to this day her letters with Hamilton have not been found. It's theorised that she burnt them, but it has never been confirmed. So we don't know a lot about her, except from the little told about her in relation to Alexander's life and the accounts of others. Her story as an individual was never told like with Hamilton and such. The same goes for Angelica, though a lot is said about her.
Angelica's line on Eliza is so genuinely true "You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind" she suffered a lot and even suffered from memory loss but despite that she still remembered her husband and kept his legacy alive
Can we take a minute to appreciate Eliza? She fell for Alex, got heart broken, her son died, her sisters died, her husband died. She still loved him and helped him even after the affair. She told Alex’s story and made an orphanage in memory of Alex. She spoke against slavery, talked with Alex soldiers, and gave funds to DC. As Hamilton says, “Best of wife’s, best of women”

At the end of who live who dies who tells your story Eliza gasps at the audience and the light go out, *it stands as Eliza realizes that everyone in the audience came for her husband's legacy. To see his story, and realizes that she did do enough. They told his story*
You just know that when Lin dies he's going to be greeted by all these characters and they're going to thank him for what he did. And you just know Elizas going to start crying too.
Angelica, in Congratulations, yelled at him... "Never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best wife!" And in his dying hours, he wrote... "Best of wives and best of women...." Which means, right up to his dying moments, he truly never forgot what Eliza was to him. Ow.
Knowing Alexander Hamilton was an orphan, when it shows her establishing an orphanage, it hits so much harder. And when Hamilton cries because of it, it just makes me choke with tears-

This is true love. Alexander betrayed her, she gave him forgiveness, told his story, kept his legacy alive. She really did love him. She was so concentrated on telling his story she forgot to tell her own, and really didn't have anyone to tell hers. But in the end, we all tell each others story's. She was the reason he thrived before and after his death. She is a beautiful woman and needs to be more recognized. Edit: thank you for so many likes! I hope we can all tell Eliza's story!
I’m so glad Lin made a musical about Hamilton ,Eliza and more . I remember seeing somewhere Alexander Hamilton almost had gotten removed from the 10 dollar bill but I’m not certain about it . I’m glad Lin carried both there legacies 😊especially Eliza
Eliza is honestly very amazing.... She deserved so much more attention and love... Alexander cheated on her had a crush on her sister and was in love with a man.... If I was Alexander I would never leave her side
I don't cry a lot, but this musical has grown on me so much. Eliza is the most powerful, inspiring woman I have ever heard of. Her husband cheated on her, told the world, and was forgiven. When he died, she dealt with all the criticism, but she carried on his legacy. She actually did something about his death. She interviewed all of those soldiers to get more stories. She raised money for the Washington Monument. She spoke out against slavery, and actually had views and beliefs to make this world a better place. She opened an orphanage and gave all those children love and care. She had the choice to do all these things, but she's Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton. She's going to do what's right.

Eliza is a true idol and a hero to all people. She forgave Alexander, even though she knew he had told Phillip to shoot for the sky and had also broken her trust by being disloyal towards her. While she was grieving for Phillip, a month before that one of the Schuyler Sisters, Margarita (Peggy) had d i e d and she was grieving her loss for that, as well as the loss of her child. Alexander couldn’t have done anything to make Eliza forgive him, Eliza chose to. That in itself is bravery. And kindness. Although, Alex literally could have said “No” to María Reynolds. Eliza chose to make Alexander’s legacy and life known over hers and that’s immense loyalty. Eliza is a model to all wives, husbands, and any sort of partner. She grew up in a wealthy family but she didn't care about money, she cared about doing the right thing. She could have just done nothing but insted she established an orphanage and i bet you she treated those kids as her own. She took care of them and gave the kids a home. She had money but she used it for good. She also spoke out aganist slavey. She decaded her time to being a good person and she stayed stong though everything in her life from Alex cheating on her to losing her friends and family and watching them die. Even after Alexander died, Eliza never married another man. That makes her loyal, she loved Alexander. And forgave him even after the affair. She stood by his side always. She will be missed. Our amazing Eliza.
I love how when Eliza says, “ I interviewed every soldier who fought by your side.” Herc and Laff say, “ we tell your story.” And then Alex looks at John starts to cry and hugs him. It’s so amazing that the small detail of him hugging John just adds something.
My interpretation/something I noticed: A bit before it mentioned Angelica, the color started switching to pink/orange to represent her. But when she died it turned back to blue, Eliza’s color. Then it changed back to orange, showing Eliza remembering or giving recognition/credit to her. Or keeping her story alive.
I watched this on my Nintendo Switch, and I literally started crying, because the line "I stopped wasting time on tears" is the one thing that I can't do after my grandpa died a year and two days ago. Your Hamilton animations are what pulled me out of a deep depression. A few months after my grandpa died, we had to put down our dog that I had since I was first born, Gizmo. I may not be American but I will always remember Eliza to be the best female in history. There was a reason why the musical is called Hamilton instead of Alexander Hamilton specifically. I wish I can one day travel and see for myself the orphanage she built. (Also, dang, did Alexander write any story books? He really has a way with words, how come his way of writing isn't being taught everywhere? Would have loved to be half as smart as he was)
I feel so bad for Eliza. She went through Alexander going towards war, bearing 8 of his children, went through his affair, started an orphanage, went through her father's, mothers, sisters and sons deaths and still spreads the story of the man who cheated on her. Eliza’s family got rich from slave trading and in her final 50 or 40 years she spoke out against slavery the horrible thing that had brought an a amounce of wealth to her childhood and what had brought her to meet Alex (her status from wealth) she is so pure and innocent
