Sadly, this is how it often is. The eldest is pride and the youngest is joy. The eldest is bound to protect the younger ones and set the best example in all that they do. But the younger ones amuse the adults and never fail to be the centre of attention. As the eldest, you really do feel the weight of it all at points and I really relate to the way Elizabeth and Margarets' relationship is portrayed!
@@mitraavesta7548 unfair statement to make. Often the eldest are the most protective over their younger sibling(s), and will always have their back. I know many people who are the eldest, as well as being one myself, and I can tell you that they and myself would never dream of abusing our siblings, no matter how much we may hate them sometimes.
They had a beautiful loving sisterly relationship, but there was always a sour note in it, jealousy, duality, you name it. Their relationship was just like the song played in this video, a beautiful piece, with bittersweet chords.
Well, I think the really sour note was when Margaret wasn't allowed to marry the love of her life. She should have just been allowed and then Margaret could have made her mistake and lived with them.
I'm very curious how they will handle the death of Margaret. Yes Diana is the one they are currently building up to, but I'm really curious on what kind of characterization they're going to give Elizabeth for when they eventually have to cover Margaret's death. Whether it'll be subtle or more emotional. It certainly will be the ladder for the fans considering we have followed her story since season 1.
Yeah this is actually annoying, I mean Margaret matters too, She's one of the royal family💔Her history matters, Her life matters, Her death matters because we all cried for it. And I'm so mad that they will cover her death. This is unfair for her. The world should know about her.
@@nadaadel5117 Yeah but they're probably not going to cover her death until season 6. But it will be tricky considering that if the series ends with William's wedding or at least that's what speculated, then her death would probably be at the beginning of the Season which seems somewhat anti-climactic for her character. I guess we'll see what happens
@@seren4740 and why is that? I get the emotion from them, the portrayal were good, the acting were also marvelous. I mean I get it that it's your opinion, but if the reason you dont like them as lilibeth and margot bcs of their appearance dont really match the real life person then it is kinda silly imo
@Raindrop 28Harry and Meghan never wanted Archie to have a title. Anyway, when Charles becomes King, Archie will automatically become a Prince. Educated yourself .
@@MauriceRivers415 Harry and Meghan are working, you twit. I know you are not use to Royal's who actually work. Can you imagine Kate trying to broker a $100M+ deal? 😂🤣😅
I mean, Elizabeth is the older one so she has to act like it, like most older siblings with responsibilities do; and usually one out of the rest are the joyful ones, someone everybody loves. It just happens. None better than the other.
As a middle child I can completely understand both sides. Having so many responsibilities and being expected to succeed in everything is as hard as having to live in your sibling’s shadow and never having your moment. Both situations really mess with your mind.
Exactly the SAME ! Elizabeth and Margaret are just the SAME AS William , the future King is the PRIDE , & Prince Harry is DEFINITELY the JOY ! Hhmm little dis Elizabeth's Father KNEW 🙏💙🙏
I always wondered in the Show how the wedding between Margeret and Peter was shown that Elisabeth is the one who breaks the oath she have to her father. Margeret did it too. She grown up in the family and should know what it means to be King/Queen. Even if Lisbeth gave her word that she can marry Peter, she sind everything to make that happen. But there is the oath she gave as a sovereign. Lisbeth shouldn't do the promise which lead to cut to the oath, but to make so much pressure on her did it too.
I hate that the actresses from season 1 & 2 look absolutely nothing like their season 3 & 4 counterparts especially Margaret. Helena Bonham Carter is a brilliant actress but she doesn't look anything like Vanessa Kirby. Even their eye colors are different
Maybe you're right but both of them played Margaret beautifully, especially they looked like the real princess Margaret in her pictures, So no matter what their eye colors looked like. Who cares about that if they're actually really talented?!
this part really breaks me. i understand, margaret just want to be happy and marry peter, but being a sister and *the* queen, it is not an easy decision for elizabeth.
I always hated how Margaret would say “I was his favorite” because, at least in the show, that’s not how it looked to me. George seemed to love them both equally, just in different ways. To George, from my perspective, Elizabeth and Margaret were two halves of his world. His pride, and his joy. I think it’s so hurtful for Margaret to say such cruel and heartless things to her sister. That’s why I don’t like her very much, very selfish.
I think that all her strength wear on to still be something and not just a little sister. I also believe that I’m the long run she would be a better queen then Elizabeth because she still had one foot in the real world and in my opinion had a better understanding of the fact that they needed to change the monarchy, and I also believe that she would have grown with the task and that Peter would have been more comfortable with been number 2 I the family if you compare him with Filip. No one can know for sure but she was a born leader and we’re more comfortable with being with the actual people so on that front she definitely out shine her older sister who doesn’t like to even do live speeches.
@@carolinasandberg4567 Elizabeth was called her fathers pride for a reason, she has solid foundations and that’s what it takes to be great, Margret is too fleeting, too impulsive and vain these traits a great leader can not have so there for number 2
@@mobrown7594 You summed it up perfectly. Many of the things Elizabeth hated about herself were the things that have made her a great queen. To lead, you have to be able to put personal feelings aside and do the job you’re called to do. You have to be able to think with your head and not your heart so much. Margaret was definitely impulsive, had an addictive personality, and would’ve let love get in the way like Edward.
@@carolinasandberg4567I've seen a lot of people saying that Margaret would be an incredible queen. However, the monarchy could weaken with some of its ideas and actions. Furthermore, the monarch cannot do whatever he wants. He has his obligations and duties and must defend and fulfill them with the utmost respect. Margaret was very loose and down to earth. Perhaps her life would be even more difficult if she were queen, as she could probably be stopped by the government or even her own family because of her behavior. If Queen Elizabeth II, who was taught from the age of 10 and didn't have as much freedom or had some obstacles during her reign, imagine for Margaret that she didn't have so many people on top of her telling her what she should or shouldn't do, or her studies What did Elizabeth have on the constitution? Don't you think it would be much more difficult for a person who wasn't prepared correctly for this position? The country was going through difficult situations and the queen needed to be strong and mature. Would Margaret be able to handle it, from what I've read about her, Margaret was a person who wanted to live a happy and free life. Do you think she could have those parties she did? No. Being queen/king is much more than serving your country, it is obeying the laws and traditions that the monarchy carries. Would she be willing to let go of her dreams, the man she loved. Because if you think she would marry Peter if she were queen, you're wrong. If as a princess she couldn't, who will say as a queen?
Princess Margaret is so much better that Queen Elizabeth and she should be happy but she couldn’t be happy because of her sister’s stupid undeveloped thoughts. (I hate Elizabeth II.)
The weight of crown is quite heavy for the one who wears it. Being the eldest and the Queen one must know how to be dutiful and set an example. Queen Elizabeth married her sister to someone else just to stabilise the politics and not to disturb the equality of power.
Well, they both suffered because they had different desires and dreams. The situation was complicated for both of them. Imagine living in the shadow of the sister you would like to live her life as? And imagine the queen having to make decisions that would hurt her sister, even though she didn't want to hurt her, but she had to make that decision because she was queen and because she swore an oath to her people?
