Gregory portrays Elizabeth and Henry's relationship as rather toxic but in reality it was a very a happy marriage. He never took a mistress and when she died he took it very hard and refused to leave his room.

She was a Tudor Queen as Queen Consorts are the line of their husband's. Henry VII was a Tudor as was his wife and children.

Her mother Elizabeth Woodville was not the last York Queen as her husband's successor, Richard III (his younger brother) was a York King so his wife, Anne Neville was a York Queen. Since she predeceased Richard III, she was the last York Queen as the next Queen Consort was Lizzie York, but Lizzie was a Tudor.

Ultimately that would be Henry Tudor, King Henry VII. However, a Queen consort takes the family name of her husband, the King, so her husband King Edward IV was a York King so she was a York Queen.

Also Elizabeth and Henry's marriage were probably one of few really happy marriages even though they struggled at first they fell deeply in love over the years and Henry unlike Elizabeth father never took a mistress

I beg to differ. Edward was known as a manwhore & even his mistresses are written in history. Plus Elizabeth Woodville lost 2 of her sons & till this day it is unknown what really happened to them. Murdered? Who knows? Henry & Elizabeth of York love for one another is written by historians. It is believed that their their son, Henry the 8th went through many wives to find love even remotely similar to what his parents had. It is even said, Elizabeth of York’s death caused immense pain that Henry literally lost himself & never left his room. Some say he died of a broken heart. Yes Elizabeth of York died young, but she died being loved by her soulmate till the end of his days. She’s also grandmother to some if not the biggest monarchs ever written in history. Queen Elizabeth the first & Mary, Queen of Scots. Plus the royal family today are blood related to Elizabeth of York.

Actually the current queen is from Mary Queen of Scots who is descended from Margaret Tudor, Henry the 8ths sister and daughter of Henry the 7th and Elizabeth of York. The current monarch is from the tudors bloodline.

Their personal relationship is speculative much like any couples. We don't know exactly how they were with each other so one must speculate and when one must speculate I usually like to give the benefit of the doubt and not vilify them.

Have watched those movies , Haha pretty fairy tale but so innacurate, it's show business but when they rewrite History like that it's not very nice, almost irritating if one knows the real facts. Not everyone is as dumb. I'm a historian and of course these dramas are inaccurate. It's not a documentary, it's a drama and it was beautifully done. Plus it had disclaimers.

It was only for a set number of episodes as it ended in 1499 and the Spanish Princess starts in 1501. The Spanish Princess ends with Henry VIII marriage to Catherine of Aragon and his accession to the throne, both were within a short time of each other.

Hani that’s a different war you are thinking of. The cousins war was the war of the roses between house Lancaster and house York. The war did end with them because they united the two houses and created the Tudor dynasty.

@Hani the so called cousins war, was the war of roses, which was fought by the houses york and lancaster (which also inclued tudor) during the 15th century. the war ended as york (edward vi) won against the lancaster (margaret of anjou). a few years later edward passed away and his son should actually have succeeded him, but he was murdered mysteriously (some say it was his own uncle richard who killed him) and richard became king. henry tudor won against richard during the battle of bosworth (which marked the win of house lancaster against york) and edward's oldest daughter elizabeth married henry to settle peace in the country. mary and elizabeth i. are related too. mary's grandmother was elizabeth's aunt. the conflict between england and scotland started many years earlier and was ended by mary stuart's son james, who became heir to the virgin queen elizabeth and later ruled both scotland and england until 1625. those wars/conflicts don't have to do much with each other as i said.

Since medical science was not perfect it is hard to prove her oldest, Arthur, was premature or she was pregnant prior to marriage. Either way it was moot as Arthur died childless at 15, so Henry, who was born 5 years later ended up King.

She was not a York Queen but a Tudor Queen as a Queen Consort, King's wife, is the family line of her husband. Since Henry VII ruled as a Tudor, Lizzie York was a Tudor. Yes, she was born a York, but changed to a Tudor upon her marriage. Only Queen Regents (actual ruler) keep their family line, i.e. Mary I ruled as a Tudor despite her husband being a Habsburg.
