For anyone who has ever read Plato's Republic one can easily make the connection between Plato's political outline of the ideal city state and that represented by this segment of the movie. The statesmen and scientists represent the gold ruling philosopher king caste and the gold sword; Taarna the Tarakian the guardian/warrior silver caste represented by her silver hair and the worker cast represented by the general population that was slain in the city and the winged bronze colored beast.
Classic, majestic and very powerful theme for the council by Elmer bernstein's explosive Heavy metal score (which out of all the scores ive heard from him so far)i think is his most definitive piece of work! Elmer's Heavy metal score is pure magic, entrancing and brings the listeners into one of the most dynamic, dazzling and unbelievable worlds of music! Definitely Elmer's best score with Ghostbusters being his 2nd best.

I recall discovering a long time ago that the music in question is also by Black Sabbath. It is called "E5150" from their "Mob Rules" album, and it just so happens to also precede their "The Mob Rules" track. The film version is slightly different, however.
