I still get teary eyed when I hear the music from the Taarna chapter. Bernstein was a genius!!

This is one of the most incredible pieces of film music probably ever written - Works so well with the amazing images too - Never would I have thought that a naked women flying on a Pterodactyl through seemingly never ending canyons for 2 and a half minutes could move me to tears, but that's the power of Elmer's pen right there!

Perfect scoring in this cue,you can a huge similarity in it's style as suppose to the great Elmer bernstein's other favorite score of mine,Spies like us! Particularly when Chevy and Dan was riding across the snowy plains from the russians on a horse. The brass horns that were used in that sequence has a very striking resemblance to the "flight to the temple" Heavy metal cue here. Heavy metal is Elmer's ultimate masterpiece and im so glad the full score finally became available on CD. For years the closet anybody had ever came to having any of the music from Heavy metal was the original album that only had the songs which we're good but what would the movie been without the incredible score by Elmer bernstein?! Elmer conducted a score of immense proportions and incredible intensity!!! Every note of music he composed in his magical Heavy metal score is memorable and a treasure that will never lose its glitter!!!!

Elmer is one of the best soundtrack composers, right up there next to John Williams in my opinion. The first composition of his I heard was the theme for To Kill a Mockingbird. Absolute beauty in his music.

Easily some of the best music for an animated movie. Thank you so much for uploading. If I found this on "cd" I'd buy it in a heart beat.

Damn, some of Bernstein's best work was on the Taarna segment of the Heavy Metal film. Every piece related to it JUST TAKES YOU RIGHT THERE!!! :-D

This is the same man who scored The Ten Commandments. What more needs to be said?

Fantastic score! Very ethereal and even sounds like pure imagination from Willy wonka on a couple of notes

It sounds like the Ondes Martenot was used in this piece.
