Just got into his books late in life and, like Untumble, I'd like to thank this great writer for the pleasure I'm going through. There's also nothing wrong with the interviewer's intelligent and polite approach.

Great dialogue is the hardest thing to write..... Elmore does it better than anyone!

Hear, hear! I'm an aspiring crime novelist myself, and along with George Pellecanos and Mickey Spillane, Mr. Leonard is a huge influence on me and my own work. I hope that I can accomplish at least half of the kind of legacy Dutch had created himself!

I've been reading EL's books for over 10 years now. I'm now reading LaBrava. He's still got the edge.

The fact that a Scorsese x Leonard adaptation never came out makes me so sad. Scorsese wanted to make LaBrava too (possibly Dutch's best novel, my favorite however was Swag) and I'm sure it would've been a magnificent picture and the start of a beautiful series of collaborations.

+Rajan Bansal Definitely a dream match up. I would have liked to see Marty take on Glitz.

Perhaps meeting in the street comes from a culture of solving a dispute with a duel?

10-11-2009. It's not a bore, 'cause Elmore Leonard is 84. Happy Birthday, Elmore.

Just out of curiosity, is that picture presented at 6:30 the exact same one that Mr. Leonard is referring to? How did you (the editor of this video) manage to come up with that? Just curious because it seems like it would have taken a bit of digging, given that the interview took place 12 years after publication of the book. Did Leonard's researcher help you out with that?
