"Sweet Talkin' Woman" lays down a drum-friendly rhythm, delirious bursts of swirling strings and endlessly overdubbed backing vocals, all of which mesh to seamlessly form an ornate, but irresistible funhouse of pop hooks.
Sweet girl, I disagree with you on this song, I love it ! HOWEVER, what I enjoy about your reactions are the fact if you don't like it, you say so! You are HONEST unlike so many reactors on here who like everything they listen too (I don't believe them)! They do so to try and establish a viewership, whereas you are honest! For that reason alone, I RESPECT your opinion! You rock girl !!!!!
Actually this is my favorite song of theirs and one of my favorite songs ever. Jeff Lynne is a musical genius. Its everyones prerogative to like or dislike.
Angela, ELO is my favorite band, so it puzzles me when someone says they didn't care for one of their songs. Especially a widely beloved classic like, "Sweet Talkin' Woman". However, the LAST thing I would want would be for you to pretend to like a song that you didn't. *So thank you for your honesty* -- and the sweetness with which you expressed it. Next from ELO, I suggest you react to my favorite song from their wonderful catalog, about a different kind of woman than the one you just reacted to. lol It's called *"Evil Woman"* and since its release in 1975, I've never met anyone that didn't like it...most adore it! :D
Nothing to apologize for, you can't like them all and it's ok. When I was younger my favorite band in the world was ELO, but there were songs I wasn't a huge fan of. Even this one I have only thought of as being ok. But don't let it keep you from checking more of their stuff out!
This band is very diverse and talented! I've mentioned a couple of times in the past what songs I like by them, but I'd like to emphasize for you to play I Can't Get It Out Of My Head, the full version! It's worth listening to! You can't like everything! Your honesty is above any false pretense! Keep on keeping on as they say!
Wow! Your honesty is appreciated and nobody can expect someone else to like Everything. Also, you don't have to be sad that you don't like it, it's OK:)
Hello Angela! It's been way too long since I've seen one of your reactions! ELO had so many great songs, but the title of this song, Sweet Talking Woman, seems perfect for you! 😁
Shine a Little Love, All Over the World, Do Ya, Last Train to London and I'm Alive are some great ELO tunes. IMO, the grandaddy of them all is Fire On High. Long time listener, first time caller. Love you, love your show.😉
Really nice to see you reacting to the great ELO and be honest. Please, if you love ELO you have to react to All Over the World, Last Train to London, Livin Thing, Don't bring me down and Evil Woman. You are going to love them all. Those were all hits. Other songs are Can't get it out of my head or Mr. Blue sky that were also very popular. Regards from Chile!! :-)
Verrry interesting.. I was not an ELO fan in ‘real time’ ( back in the day ) but have begun to like them more only recently via these reaction vids… and this one seemed as good as the others to me. I don’t consciously remember this one.. Angela, good honest reaction as always. That honesty, and the wide variety of styles and mix of hits vs. deep cuts … these are why your channel stands out as special. Thanks!! Keep ‘em coming!!
Well apparently, a lot of these comments disagree with the reaction. I like the song because I love the whole album, It's a true masterpiece! It certainly beats Boogie Oogie Oogie.
My favorite band from the 70's !!! Jeff Lynne is a brilliant song/writer who still plays and I love his music some Lyrics are sublime suck as "Midnight Blue " I recommend it !!!
Please don't apologize for being honest. That is what is great about you. Most other reactors I have watched are so fake. They like everything. And that isn't genuine. Your the real deal. Stay honest. God Bless You.
Suggestion: First Punk Band - The New York Dolls - song: "Personality Crisis" off their first album (1973)...Bowie, Iggy Pop, Kiss, Aerosmith, the English Punk scene all say The New York Dolls were their inspiration... suggested URL: www.youtube.com/watch?=Ctg5FCS1wCM Midnight Special Performance
You should listen to at least one John Denver song. He was very popular in the early and mid 1970's (and won several awards). Possibly "Take Me Home Country Roads" or "Rocky Mountain High"
Hi, Angela. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts on this song. It's been years since I've heard it and you 'hit the nail on the head' as to why it's not a favourite of mine. Stay healthy and safe 👍🏽 ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
1. I appreciate your honesty. It validates all the other positive reactions you've had to other songs. We can't like everything equally. You still showed respect to something that just doesn't click for you here. No need to apologize. 2. These videos are understood to be, for the most part, initial reactions. I will tell you that some of my favorite tunes are ones I initially dismissed or even "hated." Most of us who have listened to these songs for years, experienced them in repeated plays: hearing them in a store, while riding down the road in a car, or at a skating rink. It is possible that if you were to encounter this song in one of those ways, it would hit you right, and you would find yourself humming and seeking to hear it again. But then again, maybe not. 3. I do love this song, as I do most ELO music. This one is upbeat and positive, and always makes me feel good. The instrumentation, vocals, and production value are of a quality we just don't see in the music of today. I appreciate the opportunity to hear it again, see your reaction, and read the comments and opinions of others on this channel. Thank you!
ELO was a deliberate attempt at morphing classical orchestra, with the raw freedom and spontaneity of modern pop/rock! Actually it's simple!!! But it was their BABY, and they brought it up well!!! One drawback to ELO, WAS ........ ~ELO~ ! When you make the decision to pair up orchestral based musical ideas with pop, you get a never ending conflictuation that the listener(s) are either ok with,, or,, NOT ok with!!! Analogy ....... oil & water ....... get it?!?!?!?!
Jeff Lynne's ELO all their songs were feel good and fun to dance to, when he joined the Traveling Wilburys with so many other male lead singers it just added to the magic on the song End of the Line.
as you've reached 1979, there are several great songs I remember: Peaches & Herb "Reunited", "Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione, "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" by Rod Stewart was probably the number one song that year, would love to see your reaction to any of those!
Hi Angela you can't like them all. This is like most ELO songs you can't go wrong with any of their songs which they are all great. That's what I like about you being honest.
I'm very surprised you didn't love it. (It's one of my top 3-5 ELO songs). This might be their first song where they ventured into the Disco sound. To me it's got it all- catchy pop-rock with disco beat and an orchestral nuanced arrangement. If I didn't already love you I might fight you on this one! 😍😀 Thank you for being honest with us!!
Angela, Not every song is going to be your cup of tea. And that's OK. We still want your honest opinion. That's why we like your channel. I am sure you like some songs that many of your fans aren't crazy about. That doesn't mean we stop being fans. You just keep it real girl, and your fans will always be there! I happen to love ELO and am a fan of all their songs. That doesn't mean you have to be also. I will always be an fan of you Angela.
First of all, any reviewer who likes everything or hates everything is boring. And I like that you have in-between reactions. There's a lot of territory between terrible and terrific. Even my favorite group of all time, the B52s, have a handful of songs that didn't wow me. I do like this song, but to me, ELO is one of those groups that gets better with repeated listenings.
No need to apologize for being honest. I do like this song, but I feel the same way Mr. Blue Sky as you feel about this song even though most people seem to enjoy it....different strokes.
