Yes, consciousness is basically everything. The same way that the life energy flowing through us is the same energy flowing throughout the entire infinite universe.

The phenomenon of emergence is the only explanation for human consciousness. Many things about life are emergent in nature. You can see the different things being combined to form the system or entity but you can't see what happened between the combination and the final outcome. Logic say 1+1 = 2 but complex systems are not logical. For complex systems especially biological systems 1-1 =>3 where did the 1+ come from resulting in a completely new system? I dont think science can ever explain this. It takes an intellectual leap of some sort to accept this as reality of nature without your necessarily having to understand it.

It's just our human ignorance that makes us think that we're special. But deep in yourself you start to discover that we're not much different from trees and everything else. It's just that we humans lack scarcity for the first time in the history of life as we know it and thus we feel lost and lack meaning and think of ourselves as separate, individual creatures. Think about it: An organism that is constantly thirsty / starving whatever, it'll not waste an ounce of energy more than needed to "think about itself". It'll try to get water and food to survive. The idea of a self is really just to self preserve in the situation of life threat. It's just a pity that we humans express this kind of pattern almost 95% of our life times which is why we have so much misery in the world. The interesting question I think is though why I'm born into this human flesh soup in the first place and what additionally what happens after "death". But ultimately I think everything is much, much more connected and it's our conditioning and ignorance that makes us believe in the first place we're special. I think as long as we hold on to that idea, we won't have a very long time on this earth. Just look around what's happening.

Conciousness is producing conciousness kind of like quantum computer can create quantum systems. Why wouldn't there be biological' quantum computer. Computer is just tool for fast computation and computer can't do many things as human do even though it was designed based on brain, nervous system, even deep learning can't, so there is something missing, link between what human can do and electricity of the brain. There is messurement which we call observation, then there is calculation, error-feedback loop and action. Let's simplify what we know to "Everything is information", so How lack of information, nothingness transformed into single particle, single bit of information? Btw. In this scenerio Everything is possible, even something like Universe taking physical body in another dimension and everything is this being creation, higher inteligence creating lower level of inteligence which culture named it alliens or God. How buddism came up with idea of ascending to higher dimensions. Illusion of seperation between Conciousness and the Higher dimensions of conciousness - which people call Matrix? That's funny, LSD gave me a similar experience that I drew the opposite conclusion from. When I started to feel detached from my ego, separated from myself, able to look at my thoughts and feelings as if from outside, it seemed like the ideas of "soul" and "consciousness" are just shallow coping mechanisms my body (and my brain is part of my body) uses to process and understand the impulses and experiences I'm constantly assaulted with. But I also think it's extremely narcissistic for humans to think our brains are capable of understanding reality at all. The analogy I use is a colony of ants building an anthill in the middle of a construction site full of signs explaining that it's about to be turned into a Walmart. There is literally nothing I could do to make those ants understand why it's self-destructive to build the anthill there, because they are not beings capable of comprehending the reality of the situation as well as I can. But ants and I are both just creatures created by the process of evolution, which gave us the intelligence and skills necessary to survive and perpetuate our species. Just because I'm orders of magnitude smarter than the ants, why should that make me believe it would be any more possible to explain to me what's really going on with the universe than it would to explain to the ants how that big yellow digger is going to destroy their hill tomorrow morning?

I have had my own experience with the afterlife. I mean there is plenty of evidence out there the UAP's that the military is seeing they are entities from the spiritual world. We believe in love right but you can't see it can you so how do you know that is love, I could say prove it wheres the evidence. There is plenty of testimonies of the spiritual world but whether they are true or not that is up to you, I can't force that belief I just gave an answer that to me is true. You know a caterpillar spends it life munching on leaves to its heart content in the world not realizing that one day it will be a beautiful butterfly and the ability to go wherever it wants. We are no different, the fetus in the womb is living a life of luxury for 9 months does't have to do a darn thing its all taking care of, no need to cook, plenty of warmth and just a lovely place to be. At birth out of nowhere its life is turned upside down, cold, noisy and now hungry. The same thing happens when we die many people cannot believe they have died, they cannot grasp the fact they are in the spiritual world, they cannot grasp they are in a place they created themselves by how they have lived on earth. But a strong indication is the near-death experiences testimonies. All those people around the world cant be conspiring to say essentially the same thing about it and mean it. I think Lex's lack of conviction for the existence of the soul is endearing and most of us love him for it regardless of our own personal beliefs because he is at least striving for an answer. I associate the 'soul' with the true self, just using different terminology but same idea. I've found that ego dissolution is helpful, but running from your ego can be restrictive. I've found acknowledging the ego and exploring it along with the inner workings of the mind (referred to as the subconcious) can be helpful in understanding and navigating the ego self, which we will need to do because we can't stay in ego dissolution forever. Most of us have responsibilities and have to be a person, a lot of us in the western world, which requires us to use our ego state quite often. Just some thoughts.

I felt quite the opposite. I see many people here striving to understand God, some speak in mathematical terms, some in spiritual, but all getting at the same one truth. I am a Christian and love seeing all these people speaking of these spiritual truths. I don't think everyone needs to follow Jesus to understand God, although I've been blessed to do so myself.

I devoted maybe a third of a book which addresses your points, so to cover here the evasiveness of a G(g)od and its reason for the needed causative effects of such, is…um… (Btw, I represent no particular sect of Christianity, so nothing “cultish” here-if you meant literally.) The vast majority of Christians, even, have never learned the pervasive ‘law’ of God expressed by the Christ in John 2:23-25. If you have business training or were ever self-employed, you’re likely familiar with the various legal structures of business entities. The one type most prone to failure is that of equal partners. Common sense should also relay that there cannot be equipollent heads of governments and militaries. There needs to be one head of any social structure, one final voice of authority. And if there is never to be any basis for any defense objecting to some injustice-needed for willful and yet joyful submission, that headship must be unquestionably perfect in every way and all subjects thoroughly indefensible. You’ve heard it said many times I’m sure, the Judeo-Christian Bible states God created mortals in the image of himself/themselves, i.e., having a spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions, personality and mannerisms, spiritual heart; ‘us’-my definition), and body. As such, given the correct and conducive circumstances, a human being can accomplish greatness, at times nearing the status of god-like supremacy in their power over others. Such, whether having greatly achieved in the area of intellectualism, business/wealth, beauty, fame, or discoveries, find it impossible at least at times to assume a submissive role in many situations. Regarding such, while brutal in concept, what we who are Christian believe or should believe is that God’s Word on the matter parabolically but of actuality states what will in part be the end of this present age and the start of the next, “Bring here and slay before me those who do not want me to rule over them” (Luke 19:27, para,). What is in a mortal whereby they’d be without the ability to eternally submit to a higher authority and without question or reservation? Arrogance: The by-product of any degree of accomplishment. And what is the only way to overcome unfeigned this otherwise unavoidable obstacle?: If God were to create a situation whereby there is absolutely nothing whatsoever His subjects had to offer his Kingdom, not so much as a fraction of a percentage of ability to input any constructive addition. Hence, no fuel for pride and its resultant arrogance, no basis for any judgment of God and his methodologies, ev-er. So, God, it is alleged by the allegedly authentic Christian, claims that unlike every religion in the world other than supernatural (as compared to merely philosophical) Christianity, the situation exists whereby there is nothing whatsoever any human can do to have a relationship with Him. Such has to be 100% provided by God himself, the recipient knowing that they know that they know that apart from God and his ongoing provisions, “you can do nothing [of any eternal or corporately profitable significance]” (John 15:5; confirmed by a person in Romans 7:18). What must be among that 0% the mortal has to offer? Intellect. Humanism. Sole reasoning. Relativism. Hence, God remains unseen; intangible. He is only found in the inner person, hence, “the Kingdom of God is [in part] within you” (Luke 17:21; all spirits are a constituent of the Kingdom). If and when God instills his Truth of Christianity’s necessity upon the spiritual heart, the recipient will recognize it as Truth and proceed accordingly. It’s the only way, also brutal to some, sadly but necessarily so. Perfect, actually. Oh, and what is it that is in people; what was Jesus referring to in John 2:23-25? There are lists both in Mark 7:21-23 and Galatians 5:19-21, but arrogance (yielding “a proud look,” literally haughty eyes/countenances) is chief (Proverbs 6:16-17a; the Wisdom of Solomon). You my challenger put a lot of sincere thought and perhaps much time in your post (or perhaps unlike me you are just naturally brilliant??), so even if you were the only person to read this, I was blessed to multiply it back to you. That notwithstanding, I perceive my response possibly worthy of others’ consideration, so please forgive if you must my duplicating it on X (I will of course respectfully not reference you or your words whatsoever). Half a century ago as a teen, I did a coop work thing at a health/fasting resort in Naple, FL. My job was helping dig a drainage ditch. Next door was a former small motel, then tuned into a home for Jesus freaks. The leader, I assume (older and wise), approached me one day and briefly asked if I love him. Being that know-it-all teen we often are, I said, “I do not, not love you.” (Ha.) I don’t recall his response other than his claim he loved me, but will never forget the internal impact. I didn’t then understand, of course, but now do. And I love you, dear Ava. To any agnostic, deist or even atheist: if you discern Truth in any of the above, it would be claimed by the Judeo-Christian God that “you are not far from the [eternal] Kingdom of God.” On the other hand, if it is considered by you without any basis in reality, I respect that, and thank you for your consideration, sincerely-hopefully you will not be cruel in any rebuttal felt needed, please. (Also, as someone who has been interacting 30+ years on the internet, allowing time for digestion is nearly always necessary rather than some immediate knee-jerk reaction in defense of an offended or challenged heart.)

Everyone has their respective paths towards truth, and they don't have to follow the path I follow to find a higher power which I am comfortable calling God. I believe in intelligent design. I follow Jesus because Jesus interacted with me and I was shown the highest form of truth that I've ever known through this entity, and was shown that there is indeed intelligent design and order to the universe. This is enough proof for me, so I follow. But I can hardly blame or try to convince anyone else because their experiences are not my own, and frankly I wouldn't believe in Jesus without these personal experiences to be honest. My relationship with Jesus/God requires no intermediary, and is a personal relationship.

@@ataylor992 Indeed, in the Christian Church people have chosen one of three basic approaches to alleged Judeo-Christian Truth. Some are sola Scriptura (Latin for Scripture alone), some quadrilateral (a word coined by later followers of John Wesley), and some like Catholics who are in between the two. I myself am quadrilateral (yet interdenominational). Such as me believe God's Truth is found through upwards of four 'witnesses': supremely the written Word/Scriptures, experience, reasoning, and tradition. In 2 Cor. 13:1, the Holy Word I allege attempts to imply that God establishes His Truth in us via "two or three witnesses." Your experiences are a witness, thought legitimate because they agree with the Holy Bible as well as whatever Truth the Holy Spirit presumably wrote upon the tablets of your "fleshly [spiritual] heart" (2 Cor. 3; reasoning). All glory to God, his name "Jealous" (numerous ref.).

You have a soul whether you want to believe

How can you be so certain? Nothing in the unknown realm is certain, we do not know. Humans once believed unequivocally that the Earth was flat, that the Earth was the center of the universe. Imagine telling a human being from 2000 years ago that some day people will communicate with each other via little electronic boxes that we call the phone and talk to and see each other across the globe in real time. What if you told them humans will build giant airplanes and rockets to travel in space? They would think you were a madman.
