Yeah i think about all the drummers doing covers with multicam, hundred takes, quantized to the grid as hell and sample replaced all around...And at the end it doesn't sound that good ... Eloy just beat them all, raw energy, raw sound, pure power.

He's using a stereo mic called the yamaha ead-10 but yeah, relatively unmixed.

hitting drums has not much to do with being strong, you probably don't even lift. while you need a certain force to get the max out of the shell, that force is not even comparable to the force a strenght training exercise requires. on top of that, stamina is way more important for this type of playing. that being said, he really gets the max sound out of his drums and it's beautiful how consistent it is.

@@hazardeur Since he is not using triggers, all the hits are not only strong, but consistent, think of the kick, it's really fast and again, no trigger. He is strong.

Practice. it's that simple. :) You realize that when you're recording and whenever you're playing parts that need more focus than others, you usually (involuntarily!) lose audible power and loudness. The more you practice and the more muscle memory you're building, the less you'll experience that unwanted variation.

​@@vovahimself - It's not cheating. It doesn't produce the hits for you, it does correct mistakes, or make anything sound perfect except for the sound/volume. When drummers play fast double bass (much faster than in this video) it's not as loud. It it starts sounding "muddy" as well because bass drums have a low frequency. Triggers even everything out. If some of your hits are a little louder/softer than the rest it keeps them at the same volume. Triggered kick drums also sound better at metal concerts. You get way more of a punchy sound. With triggers, you have to play very precise. Triggers will amplify your mistakes and make them very noticeable. Mic'd kick drums will hide/blend mistakes a good amount of the time because it's not as clear of a frequency. I prefer triggered kick drums way more than mic'd kicks in deathmetal, blackmetal, pretty much all extreme metal sub-genres. I'm not a fan of them in other genres though.

realmente, lars abriu mao de tocar decentemente desde 1981 kkkk zuera. Lars é foda e tem uma puta caminhada ! Mesmo nao sendo tecnicamente muito foda, serviu de referencia pra diversos bateras.
